Located on 19th street in what I consider the heart of the Heights, this location is a very intimate setting for concerts and events compared to the other local options (House of Blues, White Oak, 713, Bayou etc). Went to see Wild Nothing and it was maybe 100 total folks in the audience? Tickets are probably the most reasonably priced out of all of the venues currently as well. They did have a bar up front which I did not check out. Like the vibe and fits the spot for smaller / indie acts.

The shitty chairs of the suit all the way in the back not worth the money !

The worse suit experience !! Management here needs to be Fixed , suit you get for higher price and the whole "is like your having an event in your living room" on their description is bullshit btw u are way in the back by this "private " by a curtain btw space with a cheap chairs anda cheap couch .

My wife and some friends and I flew down to Houston for an early birthday present for me. We wanted to see Ian Moore for the first time in about 25 years. He was touring in support of his new vinyl release. We have some friends in Houston who actually had their wedding reception in this venue before it was a music venue. So that was pretty crazy. I purchased a suite in the back. It had room for eight people, but we only had six in our party. We enjoyed the wonderful service from the bar and one of the best concerts. Any of us had been to. Ian Moore is a true treasure! I hope you get to see him next time he's in your neighborhood. You won't regret it.

The Heights Theater continues to be a great venue for smaller, more intimate shows. The acoustics are great and I always enjoy seeing a show here. I still haven't had the opportunity to sit in the balcony, however I went to a show a few months ago and sat at one of the tables up front. There's two rows of tables and the first row is literally against the stage, so you're pretty much staring up at the artist. Our table was in the second row and we preferred that since it gave some space between the edge of the stage and our table. There's no waitstaff and they don't even serve food, however you are allowed to bring in food! There's a few restaurants within walking distance of the theater so you can get food to go and eat it at the venue. If you don't want to eat inside the theater, there's a small table or two in the lobby that you can sit at. They have a full bar and the prices of drinks are reasonable. The staff at Heights Theater are always really nice and helpful. I went to a show a few weeks ago and we got there right before the headliner. We couldn't find two seats together so an employee helped us find some seats so we could sit. We really appreciated that. They have paperless ticketing just like most venues now. You'll get a wristband and that's it. The color of the wristband corresponds with the type of ticket (example: SRO or GA seated). The bag policy isn't as strict as other venues. You can bring in a bag as long as it's not larger than 14 x 14 and it doesn't have to be a clear bag. Parking is street, however you can park at Aspire Dental after 7 pm. It's across the street from the theater. If you have to park on the street, it's free and it's usually not that difficult to find a spot. I just really enjoy everything this place has to offer. Smaller intimate shows with less mainstream artists, reasonably priced drinks, and free parking!

The venue is nice . The glaring exception is an older ( late 60's) man with a cane who actually works there I was told he's in management. I was in ADA seating trying to watch the show my partner was standing next to me . He shouted at her to move, and when she didn't closer called her a batch She didn't tell me which why I didn't knock him over. The bartenders , security, Justin. Frankie and Angie made the show a pleasant experience. The old man needs to go beyond rude .

This is a grown up music venue. Evidence: 1. There are seats. For everyone. 2. We were basically the youngest people in the joint.* 3. There was an extremely civilized line at the bar. 4. Even when the band was singing "I wanna get high" over and over again, I didn't even smell a little weed smoke. Besides being a grown up venue, this place has great bartenders (full bar), a solid calendar of acts from all over, and very accommodating staff (they brought us an extra chair for our VIP table). All in all, a good time. ____________ *This may have had something to do with the headlining act, Ian Moore.

First time here seeing Jboog and I loved the venue! Super cute area with local shops you can take a stroll down before or after a show. Employees were all super nice and welcoming. Can't wait to return here!

Ambiance (3/5): Dan Electros is located in a residential neighborhood. They have a relatively small parking lot and it was completely full on a Wednesday. We ended up parking on the street a block or two away. Initially, I wasn't too impressed. Dan Electros has a gravel parking lot. Never a fan. It gets your car dirty and your shoes dirty. When you walk in though, you're entering a dive bar with some character. It's tough to describe what that is exactly but it's something you feel. Dan Electros hosts a lot of live music and they have a small dance floor. If you're into live music, as I am, this may be the spot for you. They also have a pool table which is always a plus in my book. Service (4/5): I ordered a drink at the bar. I was greeted promptly and received my drink promptly. When I later went back to the bar to close out, I was able to do so without much effort. Solid experience overall. Food (N/A): I didn't have any food as I had dinner prior, but I don't think they have food anyway. I'm not 100% though. Drinks (4/5): For a dive bar, Dan Electros has a cool menu with some interesting cocktails and a good beer list. Even at a dive bar, it's nice when you can order more than just beers and simple cocktails. With that said, I had a beer. When in Rome.

There is a cover charge of $10 for most of the performances but if you check out their website and the calendar, some of the shows are free also. The crowd is mixed but as would be expected with the genre of music, it's older - I would guess the average age of the crowd on the night I was there was 50-60 but they were getting down and having a good time so that's the important part! Parking kind of sucks here so I would suggest coming in early and if you find something in the parking lot or by the mechanic shop, back your car in because people will likely park behind you and it'll be pretty tight getting out later. There is also street parking around the neighborhoods but check the signs to make sure you don't need a permit.

The name is simply "Houston" spelled backwards. The decor is quirky, eclectic and goes hard on the taxidermy. There are all kinds of animals from land-based to sea creations in all kinds of positions, along with very unique art and ambiance to explore. The multi-room layout makes the place a fun spot to explore and check out the different levels. The darkly lit ambiance makes it a bit hard for photographs, but it is no less a dizzying and fascinating space. My favorite part of the entire place is on third floor, where there is a sound dome that doubles as a visualizer, a communal space, and a trippy acoustics wonderland where music can be played via bluetooth and tourists and locals would enjoy it. The sound system is excellent and a perfect place to chill out. There's more than just sensory overload, the drinks also deserve a bit of mention. The jalapeño palomas and hibiscus mules are fun, despite feeling a tinge overpriced. Bartenders are nice people, and service as a whole is a thumbs up. The parking situation will be challenging, since this is Downtown proper. Street parking is available just down the block, and if one can avoid the crowded weekends, the weeknights are an ideal time to visit. It's hard not to be impressed with the distinctiveness of the place, which is truly one of the city's great local favorites.
