Nice venue in the heart of the Heights. Sat upstairs for The Wilder Blue concert. Enjoyed our own bar and bathrooms. Alcohol was reasonably priced and bar staff were attentive. Great sound, awesome venue to listen and watch a concert. We chose to eat nearby, many people ordered food and brought it in, which we didn't know you could do. Ample parking. As some have mentioned there was an older staff member with a cane that was quite rude with other staff members. Wasn't directed at us so we chose to ignore it, although it did catch the attention of several people in line.

Located on 19th street in what I consider the heart of the Heights, this location is a very intimate setting for concerts and events compared to the other local options (House of Blues, White Oak, 713, Bayou etc). Went to see Wild Nothing and it was maybe 100 total folks in the audience? Tickets are probably the most reasonably priced out of all of the venues currently as well. They did have a bar up front which I did not check out. Like the vibe and fits the spot for smaller / indie acts.

The shitty chairs of the suit all the way in the back not worth the money !

The worse suit experience !! Management here needs to be Fixed , suit you get for higher price and the whole "is like your having an event in your living room" on their description is bullshit btw u are way in the back by this "private " by a curtain btw space with a cheap chairs anda cheap couch .

My wife and some friends and I flew down to Houston for an early birthday present for me. We wanted to see Ian Moore for the first time in about 25 years. He was touring in support of his new vinyl release. We have some friends in Houston who actually had their wedding reception in this venue before it was a music venue. So that was pretty crazy. I purchased a suite in the back. It had room for eight people, but we only had six in our party. We enjoyed the wonderful service from the bar and one of the best concerts. Any of us had been to. Ian Moore is a true treasure! I hope you get to see him next time he's in your neighborhood. You won't regret it.

The Heights Theater continues to be a great venue for smaller, more intimate shows. The acoustics are great and I always enjoy seeing a show here. I still haven't had the opportunity to sit in the balcony, however I went to a show a few months ago and sat at one of the tables up front. There's two rows of tables and the first row is literally against the stage, so you're pretty much staring up at the artist. Our table was in the second row and we preferred that since it gave some space between the edge of the stage and our table. There's no waitstaff and they don't even serve food, however you are allowed to bring in food! There's a few restaurants within walking distance of the theater so you can get food to go and eat it at the venue. If you don't want to eat inside the theater, there's a small table or two in the lobby that you can sit at. They have a full bar and the prices of drinks are reasonable. The staff at Heights Theater are always really nice and helpful. I went to a show a few weeks ago and we got there right before the headliner. We couldn't find two seats together so an employee helped us find some seats so we could sit. We really appreciated that. They have paperless ticketing just like most venues now. You'll get a wristband and that's it. The color of the wristband corresponds with the type of ticket (example: SRO or GA seated). The bag policy isn't as strict as other venues. You can bring in a bag as long as it's not larger than 14 x 14 and it doesn't have to be a clear bag. Parking is street, however you can park at Aspire Dental after 7 pm. It's across the street from the theater. If you have to park on the street, it's free and it's usually not that difficult to find a spot. I just really enjoy everything this place has to offer. Smaller intimate shows with less mainstream artists, reasonably priced drinks, and free parking!

The venue is nice . The glaring exception is an older ( late 60's) man with a cane who actually works there I was told he's in management. I was in ADA seating trying to watch the show my partner was standing next to me . He shouted at her to move, and when she didn't closer called her a batch She didn't tell me which why I didn't knock him over. The bartenders , security, Justin. Frankie and Angie made the show a pleasant experience. The old man needs to go beyond rude .

This is a grown up music venue. Evidence: 1. There are seats. For everyone. 2. We were basically the youngest people in the joint.* 3. There was an extremely civilized line at the bar. 4. Even when the band was singing "I wanna get high" over and over again, I didn't even smell a little weed smoke. Besides being a grown up venue, this place has great bartenders (full bar), a solid calendar of acts from all over, and very accommodating staff (they brought us an extra chair for our VIP table). All in all, a good time. ____________ *This may have had something to do with the headlining act, Ian Moore.

Nice venue, the ambiance was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. The bands were incredible, that probably helped a lot. Nice quirky area of town.

This is a beautiful venue perfect for small outdoor weddings! I attended a wedding here last night…read moreand it was a beautiful event! However as a guest, there are a couple things I want to point out... First, the ceremony setup. The bride and groom were positioned a couple steps DOWN from the majority of the rows of chairs, meaning if you were in row 4 or beyond, you couldn't see anything. I was in the second to last row and could hardly see anything. My friends in the row behind me (the last row) couldn't see anything. It was just an awkward setup for the guests. The biggest downfall of this place was their lack of restrooms. They have TWO for the entire venue... while I, myself, don't drink alcohol anymore, I'm fully aware of how it creates a constant need for use of the restroom. Many of the guests were enjoying their beers and glasses of wine, so this created long lines at the restrooms. Lastly, the gravel in the front half of the venue was a nightmare for all of us ladies in heels. My strapping stilettos were constantly getting small pebbles up under my toes and it was super uncomfortable. The dance floor and seated area for dinner, however, had turf, which was MUCH more pleasant to walk on. I wish they had this all over the venue grounds instead. Overall, the setup was nice as they had one area for the ceremony, another for cocktail hour, another for dinner/dancing and a small indoor area where the Photo Booth was set up. Additionally, the bridal suite (which I didn't actually see for myself) was upstairs, which gave the bride a birds eye view of the guests as they arrived. Pretty cool! I think a few small adjustments would make this place a five star experience for everyone involved!

I can be a bit much, but Hope knew this and she was incredibly accommodating and handled my over the top vision with so much care. Sure, there are a couple really good artists that display, and sell, their art there, but the real genius to this place is the "Melrose Place" vibe you get. First, there are several people living there. They are supposed to be artists but are really just young, desperate girls, living cheaply. One is a Cam Girl for people with food fetishes. One reads cards and makes oils. Finally, one is supposed to be a photographer but I never saw a camera, just a bed in her small space. She was always quite moody, with an obnoxious voice, and many times would yell out to turn the lights off because she was sleeping....at 9am. The Management, Hans specifically, is a little shady in my opinion. They will vote people "off the island" if you disagree with them. Irina is nice enough but gets strong-armed by Hans. They have a contingent of non-Americans that do their best to keep things clean. The A/C doesn't cool and the kitchen smell like mold and sweaty corn-hole. The bathrooms are ok, especially if you are ok with pubes from the "shower" restroom. Ewwww The hair stylist, tattoo artist and toddler toy maker are all really great gals, with legitimate businesses. The rest are funny, and keep the drama level high. The property is definitely 420 friendly!
