I was looking for a new dentist in the area and I'm glad that I found Gustafson Morningstar…read more My consultation with Dr. Morningstar sold me on the place - she was patient, thorough, and went the extra mile. It was clear that I was in competent and caring hands to get my dental health on the right track. So far, I've had a dental cleaning and some gum treatment along with the new X-Rays and 3D scans of my teeth. My dental hygienist Tayjay has done a great job and Dr. Gustafson was very friendly and helped map out the next steps in my treatment plan which will include teeth whitening and new composite fillings. I had called around other dentists in the area and one well renown place wanted me to pay upfront for new X-Rays before they could even meet with me which was VERY off-putting and GM couldn't have been more different - they were welcoming, took a look under the hood before suggesting treatment plans, were transparent with pricing, and walked me through different payment options. TL;DR: Gustafson Morningstar has been great and I would definitely recommend them to others!

My hygienist, Robert, was very knowledgeable and told me things about my teeth that I hadn't been told before and was able to answer any questions I had about them. Dr Gustafson himself was also very professional and gave a good assessment.

After about 4 years, I'm finally done at the orthodontist and I couldn't be happier about being…read moredone. The worst thing that happened here was after I was done with an appointment. I had gotten the wire on my braces tightened for the first time and it hurt a lot so I was crying a bit. I walked from the patient chair straight through the waiting room and out of the office. I was already almost out the door when the lady at the front desk goes "Are those tears I see?!" Of course I kept walking out. She didn't ask if I was okay or anything, and you would think she could tell I just wanted to leave, but instead she said "Are those tears I see?" That was a specific personal experience I had but there are also bad things that everyone experiences here. I hated coming here because of how long I had to spend in the waiting room. Luckily, the chairs in the waiting room are comfortable because that is where you'll be spending a lot of time. I usually got here about 10 minutes before my appointment and wasn't called back for at least 25-30 minutes after my appointment time. My best friends' mom who recommended this orthodontist to us also complains about the long wait in the waiting room. They give you a punch card at your first appointment and you can get different prizes depending on how many cards you fill. When I first started here, the big prize for filling 4 punch cards was a $150 gift card which I was very excited for. I decided from the beginning that was what I would save up for. Once I finally saved up 4 full punch cards, they had changed the prizes to smaller amounts on the gift cards. The best gift card I could get at my last appointment was a $25 giftcard for 3 punch cards. I chose a $25 Amazon gift card and got a $5 Starbucks giftcard with my 4th punch card. The original prize was a very generous amount, but the reason I'm upset is because the $150 gift card was what I was saving up for. Once I finally got enough filled punch cards after 4 years, the prize I got was a fifth of what I had saved up for. I wish they had at least let us know before they changed the prize amount because then I could've at least claimed a giftcard for however many punch cards I had filled at the time. This only upset me because that big prize was what I was looking forward to, especially after 4 years here and the amount of time I spent in the waiting room. I often had to get out of school early because they were always fully booked with after school appointments since most patients are teenagers. On the first day of seventh grade I was at a new school for junior high and I had to leave early on the FIRST DAY for an appointment to get my expander. This was a major inconvenience because I didn't know my way around the school yet and I already had to leave before sixth hour on the first day. However, AT LEAST after 4 years my teeth are finally straight. My teeth started out with my 2 front teeth straight but the tooth on each side sticking further forward. I also had an overbite. After 4 years, my teeth are finally straight and the orthodontic pain is done. And I don't just mean the physical pain of an expander and braces. I also mean the stress I felt every time I was in that waiting room. I knew whatever they did was going to hurt so the 30+ minutes in the waiting room just made it worse waiting for what was going to happen. Even worse, I often was still waiting about 15 minutes after getting seated before they started anything. One time they put the thing that sucks air to dry your teeth in my mouth and had me bite down on it for like 15 minutes while they were doing something with other patients which bothered me because I didn't know when they were going to come back. Hopefully you find a better orthodontist after reading this review.

My husband went this week for a cleaning and was so annoyed to hear that they now impose a $15 out…read moreof pocket payment from each patient for PPE costs at checkout. That's so ridiculous. What's worse is my husband had to move his appointment from last month to this month because they claimed they could only have one patient in the room or exam area during an hour, since it's a small facility. What's most irksome is that the hygienist or tech finished his appointment and went directly to the next client in the adjoining room. She never changed her gown, medical mask or N95 mask during the whole time and yet this office feel it's acceptable to pass down this additional charge of $15 per person for their PPEs, when they don't bother to change between patients and more than likely use the entire day. Doesn't that seem shady? The PPEs may be in shortages but more are being made now than when this pandemic all started. Why would you charge an out of pocket fee at checkout for $15 for PPE, when it's just the cost of business and to stay running. Be classy business and suck it up and eat the cost. Why take advantage of your patients? We are all more stressed out financially due to this never ending pandemic and yet this is the first I have ever come across a facility charging a PPE visit for an appointment. You don't see restaurants and shops charging for PPE for their staff to shop or eat at, do you? My own primary physician doesn't charge me a PPE fee either. Poorly done! Shame on you for bilking your patients during all of this beyond stressful times.

Instead I have to call on the same day to see if they have any openings when he has school and I have a job, so they would rather have my son suffer in pain waiting to be seen again and risk it being a more complicated surgery because they even said the longer he waits the more complicated it can be then to just schedule another appointment!!! This is what they do to kids!?!?! Pathetic!!!!
