I was just there for a cleaning and really impressed with how they've gone above and beyond to make sure things are good for visitors and staff. Air purifiers are everywhere. They take your temp, ask about your travel and if you've seen anyone positive, clear covers on all open spaces, and they sterilize with wipes throughout your time there, wiping every surface they touch. As for their craft, they are excellent with their care of your teeth. The equipment is up to date (digital x-rays and the like) and the dental hygienist who usually sees me, Heidi, is so knowledgeable and kind as she cleans my teeth. Dr. Kusch is solid too. They've also been really accommodating of the couple dental emergencies we've had that have popped up. My husband bit into a cherry pit when enjoying a pie and broke a tooth. They got them all fixed up. Another time his face swelled with infection. He arrived first thing and sat outside while I called and explained to them the situation and they accommodated him in between appointments making sure to take care of the situation that developed in his jaw. Things would have been truly dire had we needed to wait, but they knew that and made sure to take care. I've been so thankful for them. If you need a dentist in the Harper Woods/Grosse Pointe area, give them a try.

It almost felt as if she was looking down on me, which made the experience uncomfortable. However, that all changed during my last appointment. Instead of my usual assistant, I was greeted by a different dental assistant, Mrs. Rose. From the moment she walked in, she radiated warmth, kindness, and genuine care. She was the sweetest person and made me feel comfortable, even though I had come in feeling down about my dental problems. She took the time to explain everything to me and offered reassurance that truly made a difference in my experience. I am so grateful for her kindness and the positive impact she had on my visit. I hope that she is my assistant in the future as she left me feeling really good about myself. Thank you Mrs. Rose!!!

I just saw the bill, they billed an emergency exam (this is done if you go in with a tooth ache) and did a scaling and root planing, wich is a type of perio surgery/procedure. It should have been a new patient exam. Possible a debriment since it had been 5 years and see how the patient responds. I was in the dental managment industry for over 25 years, and this kind of crap is why I left. Not to mention there was no fee/copay disclosure before starting treatment. I will be putting in a formal complaint with Delta Dental. I did call and was told they did everything correct.

I had agreed with the dentist to remove the review in exchange for a refund. Since I never received the promised refund, I am now reposting the review. Here it is: I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this dental office. I scheduled a tooth extraction after being told over the phone that my out-of-pocket cost would be $90 with insurance. Instead, I left with a $910 bill. The lack of financial transparency was extremely concerning. I was initially told that a bone graft would cost around $600, but during the procedure, that amount suddenly increased to $850--and I was required to pay immediately. What made the situation worse was the pressure I felt while still in the chair. The dentist pushed me to make an immediate decision between an implant or a bridge--both significant medical and financial choices that require time and proper explanation. I was also told that a bone graft was necessary right after the extraction, even though a bridge typically does not require one. When I questioned why these options and costs were not clearly explained beforehand, I was dismissively told, "We told you so," referring to information that had never been clearly communicated to me. At no point were the cost differences properly outlined. I also want to note that I never had any issues with the previous owner during my care, which makes this experience even more disappointing. At this point, I expect I may hear more explanations or even an apology, but that alone does not address the core issue of transparency and patient communication. Overall, I felt rushed, dismissed, and treated like just another number. Patients should never feel pressured into making major, permanent decisions on the spot. I can't express enough how lucky I feel to have found this practice. 3 years ago my daughter had a tooth pulled with "zero pain". Last month I had my first cavity filled in 20 years. Wow, Dr Walby and his assistant whipped through that thing so quickly and seamlessly I wish I could have videoed it. Zero pain or discomfort. All done in about 20 minutes. I was waiting for there to be pain once my numbness wore off, but nope. In the past, I've had to go back to other dentists for them to correct the bite, but he did it perfectly right out of the gate. We're all impressed.
