She was humiliated, treated horribly, made to cry, and the interview process was arbitrarily changed; when she arrived she was told "no" despite fulfilling all requirements and even showing the phone call logs you requested. This is not only morally wrong -- it may violate labor and civil rights protections in Florida. Under the Florida Commission on Human Relations (FCHR) & the state statutes protecting individuals from unfair and discriminatory employment practices, all applicants and workers deserve to be treated fairly and with dignity regardless of age, background, or any other factor. As a result of your handling, my daughter suffered emotional distress all day. There is no excuse for treating any human being especially a young adult looking for work in this demeaning, biased manner. I am evaluating filing a formal complaint with the competent authorities. I demand a public apology from your company, and that you review and revise your hiring practices so that no other applicant ever again endures such mistreatment. I practiced martial arts for a little while as a kid and I hated it.. My husband also practiced elsewhere and went on to be a black belt. We started over here, and have continued, as a family doing family classes twice a week and then having the kids do 1 dragons class per week and we'll do 1 adult class per week. I was very pleasantly surprised at how different it was from what I expected. We've progressed several belts, and we've certainly grown stronger, with better balance in the process, and feel more confident in being able to defend ourselves. My children are continually learning values of respect, obedience, and self control. Children are unable to progress without parental permission and acknowledgement that the child is working on different things in home life. We really love this aspect and it's worked so well in shaping our kids. We tell the children the areas of improvement they need, and before earning stripes to progress to new belts they have to answer in front of everyone to how they're doing on those things, and they have to ask us for permission to get their stripes. This helps make it even more apparent to the kids also, and forces them out of their comfort zone.. they love to be praised in front of the class, and bummed when they're told they haven't improved enough in an area.. but they become super eager to correct the behavior. Mr Affon is the teacher and he's very nice and patient; he's especially wonderful with kids. Mr Ozuna, the Grand Master, is also very nice and wonderful with the children. Classes are by age for "Dragons" (the little ones.. I think til age 7) then by level after that, other than family classes. They have options Monday thru Saturday. Other options here: - Birthday Parties - Summer Camps - Day Camps - Parents Night Out (one Saturday per month) This is my kids favorite camp by far! & we love the 4-hour date nights. The location is great and parking is more than plentiful. It has a very small family feel, as you'll see the same faces over and over and everyone cheers each other on. A lot of the kids and teens love it so much that they volunteer to help with camps and with younger kids and lower ranking classes also. Never stop fighting.. A black belt is a white belt that never gave up.

He engages with all of the students and helps them understand the how and why. We joked that he should post YouTube videos - he's that detailed and likeable! He does not shame students, and encourages the beginners in an encouraging way. What we love most is that he has created a safe space - the students help each other, and work together to develop their technique.
