In August of 2023 we were devastated to hear of the fire in Lahaina, and we knew that the gallery was lost along with all of the art. Fast forward to 2026 and Renee is getting married to James and I reached out to Tracey and Lynn to see if there was any art by Tracy that I could give them as a wedding gift. Sure enough there was, and I was so excited to give them two beautiful, framed prints with Tracy's and Lynn's help. As a fun note, when James saw the prints he commented, " hey isn't this the artist whose postcard has been on the refrigerator for years?" Indeed. The new location is near the old Safeway, in a new building. This gallery is beautiful and filled with masterpieces. One could spend the good part of a day enjoying the art and, if you're lucky, talking story with Lynn Shue. We visited in February, during the Paint Maui Plein Air event. We had a blast. Lynn, several artists, and follow art lovers all gathered for the event. So much Aloha. It's easy to have your acquisitions shipped to your house (we have had several pieces shipped to the mainland, by Lynn, over the years). Village Galleries is a delightful place to visit and enjoy art. I highly recommend.

Whether you are buying the $$$$ piece or some of the prints you could tell both women who we were able to meet over our stay at the Andaz (who worked there) just wanted you to feel comfortable and enjoy your viewing or purchase. This is just the start of our family collecting these pieces...but the "how" some of the larger/original pieces are made are so cool and unique to the island. VERY cool artwork and a must see if in wailea/Kiehi, Only bummer is we missed the interactive art offerings they have like paint sessions...next time!

Great view to the hotel's pools below as well as the ocean. Art work here ranges in price from prints at $40 to large pieces in the thousands. I bought a few prints to add joy to my home and hope to add more pieces in time. What's great about this gallery is just walking in will make you smile because all of the art work is so happy. It's worth coming to the Andaz hotel just to see the art here. Love this gallery and this artist.

What a classy & beautiful shop in downtown Wailuku. My cousin wanted to show me the art of a local…read moreartist, Mr Sobado. He is super talented and has a showroom of his numerous pieces. It's all gorgeous. He and his wife were so welcoming and shared the kaona / meaning behind many of the art designs. Most of the artwork tied into the hawaiian culture and mo'olelo. He is a talented artist. His wife is a knowledgeable world historian. It was a pleasure shopping there. I ended up getting three items I didn't know I needed (but I wanted!). It's a local hometown art gallery with a lot of treasures!

Additionally, they offer ongoing after-school watercolor painting classes for children, which are also open to tourists. A few months later we found out from online comments that they closed, they never contacted us, they never paid for the horse nor returned it. We found out again, later that it was being displayed in a children's toy store no additional information or papertrail. We will not have any good review for this establishment, taking advantage of hard working people. They have NO INTEGRITY. Any doubters, contact us for review of our contract.... Despicable and disappointing. Sad I had to give a star review, it should be ZERO. SINCERELY GREENFIELD WOODWORKS. And to think they were associated with the Grand Wailea hotel in Maui. Shameful.​

This gallery has been located inside of the Grand Wailea Hotel and Resort for a decade. Recently…read more(the past few months), the ownership has changed. Apparently, the former owner also owned the sushi bar in the Grand Wailea and decided to call it quits with both businesses. The new owner has retained some of the old works (by the masters) and has started introducing a variety of local artists in the gallery space. Other artists who used to show in this gallery can now be found down the street in the Shops of Wailea. When you walk in the door, you will see a large selection of glass on display by Dale Chihuly. You will also see other artists featured in the window displays. As you wander the gallery, you will likely find as many as 25 different artists on display. Everybody working here has been very friendly and informative since my visits began in 2006. Since the new owner took over, some of the local artists on display work in the galley, which makes things more interesting. If you join the email list, you get informative emails that come infrequently. They are good about that. I consider this a must visit gallery if you are on an art tour or enjoy shopping for art on vacation. After you are done, don't miss the galleries in the Shops of Wailea. Didn't see enough?
