This was on a given weekday; yet on weekends it might be a different story; I do not know. Great service, although I won't be coming back to this establishment in a long time. You might ask me why. Sure, I am more than happy to open up sesame and tell you why. Sure, my hair felt great for days, yet it started to lack the bounce it normally gets so the experience was shorter lived than I hoped for; in tandem with my colour fading rather quickly. I had previously dyed my hair deep red and was wanting to gradually lighten it. When I originally asked him if it was possible to lighten it from the deep red I had he said "yes". Had he said "no" I would have said "Thank you for the info" and walked out then and there. He quoted me (from memory) around $250, possibly more. For that amount you'd expect results. Part of the way through the dyeing process I noticed my hair wasn't looking any lighter. When I questioned it he said "oh it's not going to get any lighter, it'll just be a slightly different tone"....WHAT!?! At that point I thought I wouldn't question him since I'd at least wait and see what the end result was like. It looked EXACTLY like the same as the dark red colour I had when I walked into the place, even the tone of red was pretty much the same. I put before and after photos on Facebook and no one could tell the difference. Being young and timid I didn't question it, paid the man and went home. After building up some courage I called them back and asked him to fix it for free. The guy agreed to do so. When i arrived at the salon I asked if he could put some highlights in my hair using foils, rather than doing an overall dye, so at least there would be more of a difference. He agreed, and this time did my hair without the usual chatter - he was obviously annoyed. The end result was yet again, disappointing. The highlights had worked but all of them had a couple centimeters of my original deep red at the roots making it look like I had a few months of regrowth even though it was freshly done. He was either annoyed and did a sloppy job on purpose, or he just was inexperienced at doing foils. Either way it was a bad (and expensive) experience. He lost a customer and left a bad impression that I'm still talking about years on.

Great hair cuts, would highly recommend to anyone who lives close by…read more I went there once for a last minute appointment and was honestly astonished by the quality of the cut, and for a haircut to be only $30 compared to others who do 40 or even in the 60's is outrageous but this place keeps it authentic. I now go here whenever I need a haircut, but look, it isn't the best haircut I've ever gotten but it's definitely up there and when it is cheaper then everywhere else, its 100 percent worth it.

It was just Way overpriced $23 (for a barber?... mind you in areas like Parramatta and Auburn, its usually $8 - 13 for mens hair cuts). and for something that you are not happy with, that is just too steep! the other day i returned for the 2nd time a few months later due to a last minute hair cut for a special party. i had the owner cut it again, (normally the owners cut better than the staff, due to the owners mentality of upholding the business name). unfortunately this time, TOTAL RUBBISH! and here is why: 1.) when he says "cut a little bit off?" you can forget about any style or shape. What was meant to look like a Mow hawk, it looks like a blob/shaved head almost. 2.) He is extremely rough with pushing your head as well as very rough with the comb around your ear. constantly swiping your ear with the edge of the comb. and believe me, more than once is not a good feel. 3.) in relation to being rough, he is extremely rough with the razor blade to clean the edges. forget about asking to "sharpen the sideburns", i could have done a better job myself in the mirror. and not to mention i received a NASTY cut where the ear joins the side of the face. He never apologized, but dabs some rubbing alcohol. the back of my head looks shocking! Its by far, one of the WORST hair cuts I've had as well as customer experience. i can straight out tell you that an 8$ hair cut in sydney's South West can do a MUCH better and pleasing outcome. This has secured the fact that i would NEVER come back here EVER AGAIN! PERIOD! It has ruined my day and left me feeling depressed. I have no appointment and not busy. I asked the price and yes, it's very expensive. $120 for creative stylist. I asked for someone less like a level one stylist for $80 but nobody there. Well, I needed a haircut so I went for the top stylist. Albert sat down with me and told him exactly what I want. Had my hair shampooed then a good massage. Albert has done a good job! I have visited this salon maybe 4 or 5 times to get my colour done and these guys are amazing. The last time I went there just before I went to New York and a friend of mine who manages Super Models (no I won't name names) told me he LOVED my hair colour. Now if that's not a compliment I don't know what is. The thing about Toni and Guy is it is expensive but when it comes to colour I think its worthwhile making the investment. I've had a few different colourists look after me and they've all been excellent. Enjoy the pamper time - you deserve it.

My colour + toner/treatment and blow dry came to $60. So good for this city, especially as the state of my hair was so bad when i walked in that some would have called it a colour correction. So essentially you sit down with your student, they ask you plenty of questions (as they really do not want to do the wrong thing, probably more so than regular hairdressers which I am stoked about as I am a total fusspot) and then they write a few things down and report to their supervisor. They tell you exactly what they are doing so you get no surprises and then go about their business. I would say the application was similar in time to most other salons. The woman doing my hair was a gem and I found the other students working around her to be an absolute riot. The only reason this didn't get a 5 (being that I am super happy with the result!) was that there was a lesson booked an hour into my consult so my student stopped doing my hair for a while and the supervisor washed it and put the toner in. It wasn't explained to me that the two were combined so I thought I had lost the treatment which was essential given the quality of my straw hair. Anyway, it all came good and the colour has settled really nicely after a few washes and hasn't all run out (this has happened to me before at a different salon). Big thumbs up! Moda Hair salon is seriously over-priced. They offer a range of options including extensions, straightening, highlights and your standard cut/colour/blow dry. Each one will leave a deep dent in your wallet, and a twinge of regret in your mind. Moda's pricing scheme also baffles me. I understand the child/ adult price range you encounter in most places (e.g. adult haircut= $20, child haircut= $10). But Moda's child/ teenager/ adult price differences seem a little weird. This pricing scheme means a cut, colour and blow-dry with cost $85 for teenagers, and $98 for adults. As well as the steep prices, service is slow, and employees often seem totally uninterested in what they're doing. Moda Hair does not offer the superior services their prices suggest. They should either lower their prices, or increase the quality of their services.

It looks like he cut out a chunk of my top not layers and doesn't understand the basics of blending. Stevie the owner refused to give me a refund and was perfectly ok with my walking out of the salon with this haircut that no one would ever wear. He actually got defensive over this poor excuse for a professional style, intimidating me and flat out lying that this cut is balanced and even. The proof is in the disaster of a cut. if you're ok with spending $150 to walk out looking like this, then this is the salon for you. If not, run the other way.

If you want genuine people who aren't just in it to clean your wallet and who you can trust with your hair, this isn't the place, despite the inflated price and self-appointed reputation.
