Our paint instructor was wonderful, greeted everyone as we walked in, made sure we had all of our supplies along while saying many jokes. To drink I decided to take a 50ml vodka & a 11.5 lemonade. Pretzels sounded good to snack on, I didn't want something that was too greasy or that had a strong odor. I was glad they show you and tell you how to do everything, was a lot of fun seeing how everything turns out a little different than everyone else. You can use a different colors as well. It was so much fun, we had a great group and the instructor kept us laughing all the time. Honestly I was so glad I didn't drink more or I probably would have had an unfinished project or one that I'd have to leave in the garage.

A group of friends and I made reservations because we like the painting, and it was a fundraiser for the an American Cancer Society. You show up about 30 minutes ahead of time just to get acclimated. Be sure to wear old clothes - they give you an apron, but paint will still splatter from you (and from your neighbor). LOL They have tables set up with all the easels and all your paint colors on a plate, and all your paint brushes in a cup ready to go. You pick a seat and start painting. They have an instructor up front that paints an example and walks you through the picture, and then there's an assistant that walks around and helps you one-on-one. Every so often, you take a break and they play fun little interactive games. We painted mustaches on each other and then whoever painted the best mustache and whoever wore that mustache got a prize. They gave away tumblers, coffee cups, shirts, and paintings, so that was a cool deal too. This gives you the chance to use the bathroom and one of their blow dryers to dry your picture before the next stage. There's a table along the back wall, and they do allow you to bring in food and your own drinks. There's a mini fridge, a bottle opener, and a corkscrew, so you don't have to bring any of that stuff with you. There's also a Rewards program you can sign up for that gives you points the more you paint. This was the most fun I've had in a long time, and you don't have to be a good artist to enjoy yourself. They also have a special time set up on Saturdays where you can bring your painting back in and work one-on-one with an artist to fix it if you're not happy. That's a really neat asset that they offer. This is a super fun place with really nice people. It makes for a good time with a group of friends doing something out of the ordinary. When I made our appointment and before setting out on our trip, she sent me a video explaining how the process would work so we could get an idea of what we were going to be doing. It was SO helpful! Once there, we got one on one help with our  creations. It was so fun to etch the glass, tap it, and break it. We had the best time and I'm so glad we have these great items to hang on our Christmas tree now!

I made myself earrings and a night light all for $39. My friends made wind chimes and plates and were super pleased with theirs too! If you're in SGF, you must give this place a try!

One of my friends Amye attends these classes often with her mom and sister and so she told us amazing things about this place. We got to the workshop and the place was really cute! They had all different kind of decor and wood work that they had for sale and when we went, they had a 20% Christmas sale going so I got a couple tree decor for the house. We got seated where our chosen wood art was and mine was the tray. I had a blank piece of wood and the lady who gave us directions was clear about the steps that we needed to take and was available to us each step of our project. We had to sand, then paint, then distress (if you wanted to), and we were given stencils (you type out what you want on your project online when you sign up for the class), and went from there. It was so relaxing and such a great time! I am so ready to go to another class. Also, I recommend bringing your own beverage! I bought a water bottle there for a $1 but I didn't think about bringing my own drink! You'll definitely get hooked once you take one class here. I highly recommend it!

We went to Art Inspired last month for a First Friday Art Walk event. Art inspired is a great…read moreconcept that I am not sure the last reviewer understood. The store there offers classes to people who have special needs or different abilities. They recycle paper into works of art. People who might be on the autism spectrum can take a class on paper making and then sell their artwork at the store. Young adults who might not have other avenues of work, can work in the store and sell their products. It is a store that offers people with special qualities an outlet for their art. Art Inspired also has art that people off the street can create. The night we were there people were buying the plain recycled paper made christmas ornaments and personalizing them at the art table. The kids were having a great time. They also have a green screen photo booth that the kids were loving. I think that last reviewer did not understand the concept for the store. This store is a great resource for our special community. They offer a service: recycling paper and make it into something awesome and inspiring.

it was a very fun experience, loved making the mugs. i live in lawrence and wanted to take their…read morecouples pottery class. i called to see how i would recieve my mugs since i live in lawrence, they said "oh we ship all the time, dont worry about it. you just need to pay for shipping". okay great, key phrase: we ship all the time. so i took the class in august, takes a month for them to fire it. i call in october wondering if its ready, not yet. call november, its ready. give them my FULL address, apartment and all over the phone, expect it in 2 weeks. still waiting. finally call again end of november, "oh i forgot to put the apartment number so we'll send it again" .... sweet okay. finally get it first week of december. one mug made it, the other SHATTERED. so i emailed them (check the photos) and just whole thing .... didnt sit well with me and im just upset with the whole deal. making them was fun, other than that NO. somehow this was all my fault ??? when they didnt put the address on right ??? alright ...

Table Rock Art Guild & Gallery was honestly a solid stop. The place had character, the artists clearly care about their work, and there were some genuinely interesting pieces throughout the gallery. A lot of the collection leaned abstract ... not exactly the Beast's personal favorite style ... but art's subjective, and you could tell some people would absolutely love it. Even when a piece wasn't necessarily "my thing," there was still creativity and effort behind it that deserved respect. That's what makes galleries like this worthwhile. Local talent, different perspectives, and a place that actually supports artists instead of mass-produced wall filler from a furniture store. Cool little atmosphere, worth checking out if you're passing through and appreciate local art scenes. abstract-heavy for the Beast, but solid work and a good vibe overall.
