This store is one of the more expensive stores in downtown Geneva. Clothes and shoes are $200+. They have a nice collection of items but just not affordable. There are also home goods. Beautiful store but out of the price range I'm looking for. Most likely won't be back given this. read more

I have lived in the area for years and frequent the 3rd street area. A long time ago Artemisia was my favorite stores. This boutique really is amazing- they have everything from local artisan jewelry to home decor to fashionista clothing treasures to having a wonderful art gallery located upstairs. They have a lot of unique pieces that are sure to become statement pieces. They even have a room dedicated just to shoes! What makes this boutique such a destination place is the variety of artisans they carry and how each item in the boutique was carefully selected. I have shopped in this boutique many times, It has absolutely beautiful merchandise. I was in the other day and the owner was busy unpacking stuff and never once said hello to me while I shopped around ...after shopping a bit I went to the counter to purchase a candle and she basically ignored me for a few minutes before coming up to ring me ..she did not ask my name for the computer and rang my candle without much conversation and I left the store feeling like I aggravated her. read more

Was driving by and saw a sweater in the window that I liked. Pulled into a spot and walked in to look for it. Weekday morning, no customers in the store. Came in by myself. Sales woman was stocking a display in the middle of the store. She totally ignored me. No eye contact, no greeting, nothing. I looked through the racks and couldn't find the sweater. Walked across the store to another rack, still waiting for her to acknowledge or greet me. It was at the point of getting awkward! It was like she was making a point of ignoring me. So I left. I was disappointed to say the least. I don't need someone to smother me with attention while shopping but at least say hello. I would have asked if the sweater was still available-in the back room, can I buy it from the window, etc. but I was so uncomfortable and felt very unwelcome. Will never go there again. read more

Bridget at Odalisque Apothecary had mentioned this shop to me, so I stopped by in my trek up Third Street and was met with unique home decor, including antique/vintage pieces, as well as a great art gallery upstairs (including original work and antique prints for reasonable rates), plus the big draw to me, some very unusual jewelry, including pieces made using old wax seals and antique buttons. Service was very good; the lady who helped me was very nice and informative, telling me about one of the jewelry lines and showing me their catalog for more information. I'll definitely come back to examine Artemisia's array of artisinal elements. read more

Best time today, enjoying this unique Art, furniture, and clothing store. They have a very sophisticated selection of hand crafted purses and belts by a local Artisan. One of a kind reclaimed wooden tables with complimentary welded iron bases and even drift wood. Took a chance & went in while visiting Geneva and LOVED it!!! I am an Artist, so it takes a well crafted piece to catch my eye & this place is full of very special finds. read more

My family was spending the day walking around Geneva this weekend. We decided to make a quick stop inside to see what they had to offer. After I gave quick reminder to my children to behave and not touch anything, we stepped inside. My kids went in ahead of me, by just a few steps. I had my eye on them the entire time. I am a small business owner myself, so I greatly respect other businesses, and I realize this is not a place for kids. However Geneva is a FAMILY area. Many families come to walk around town. many of us parents have money to spend. We walked in to a scowling look by the sales person as she immediately barked at my kids, giving them a warning not to take another step without parents. We were right behind them. They were fine and we literally just walked in. No need for an attitude. I smiled at her as I double checked my kids were next to me, Yeah she only looked away from me, no smile, no welcome. So, apparently even well behaved kids are not welcome in here. We walked right back out.... took our well behaved kids, and our money elsewhere. read more

I make a trip several times a year from Chicago to shop at this unique store and have spent upwards of a thousand dollars + + ! Today was my last visit. The rudeness shown me has finally been the last straw. The owners and sales people don't acknowledge you when you shop but will follow you around as if you intend to shoplift. I have given this store too many chances and yesterday was it's last for sure. I am an avid shopper in downtown Geneva, I support the local businesses and know most shop owners by name due to my frequent visits. In all of downtown Geneva I can say Artemesia is consistently rude, indifferent to it's customers, and as unwelcoming as can get. I will never step foot in that store again Once again, yesterday I was ignored yet stalked while I browsed their shop holding a bag with over $400 dollars of products I had just purchased from the adjoining store Odelisque that prides themselves on customer service and attentiveness . I will make sure to tell every business that I visit about my consistent awful experiences at Artemisia along with the next 10 people after that and the next 10 people after that and so on. It's truly unfortunate with the plethora of amazing shop owners and businesses in that area that this shop shows extreme disregard for business customer service, customer retention and overall indifference to it's customers on such a frequent basis. Obviously based on other reviews I am not alone. Do yourself a favor fellow patrons take your business to any other downtown business and you will be treated as a customer should , with a welcoming attitude, kindness and appreciation for your business. read more

Had the same experience as Sandy Ks review listed 5 years ago. The sales person is completely rude. This is not the first time we've been in there and always the same. Our girls are old enough to know how to behave and shop - 12, 13 and 16. The woman gave me a snide look while I browsed through the clothes which are over-rated and over-priced. We had a lovely girl's lunch and afternoon of shopping with the exception of this place. Will not stop here again. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. read more

If you enjoy snobbish and inferior behavior, much like the sales associate's in the movie "Pretty Woman", you will love to visit Artemisia. If a warm smile, a greeting or a thank you from the store staff is not your thing - you should absolutely visit Artemisia. If you feel right at home when, while browsing you are being watched to the point of stalking, and later feel like the store did you an enormous favor allowing you to purchase this $650 item - please, do not walk, but run to Artemisia! I have been coming to the various lovely Geneva shops for years, but not one of them has ever exhibited the level of rudeness, or discourteous and unfriendly approach to customers as Artemisia. From the owner to the sales ladies - they definitely take the prize! After numerous identical experiences at the store, I'm convinced their impoliteness is intentional. It's quite apparent that the owner is very much into art and is supporting local entrepreneurs as well as expanding the buyers knowledge of further hidden gems in the world. Coming from someone who's been shopping at Artemisia for years, I only have wonderful things to say. Every time I shop there, whether I buy or not, I am greeted with a warm welcome and always make note to myself of the cleanliness and organization of the shop. The staff is so fun, knowledgeable/ helpful about all of their antique products/ styles and very original. There is a lot the shop has to offer so I also appreciate the organization and presentation of the products as well. I find myself constantly recommending the shop to family and friends because of the quality of the antique prodcuts as well as the fact there are so many different styles and items that appeal to every demographic. The art collections, decor, jewelry, clothing and sales reps are so fun and unique; shops like this are very far and few between. read more
