My son drove me to TC Hosp, caught COVID, almost died ~ Code called ~ spent six weeks recovering in Hosp and almost died again from Dr mismanaging my medications. Threatened to sue, if I was not discharged. Dr told son I would die if I left. Told my son, I will die if I stay. Got discharged, at home I resumed my regular medications and am still alive today ~ 2 years later. Both Cadillac and Traverse City Munson Hospital Drs are horrific. Cadillac ER Nurses, play with toys, phones and ignore patients needs. Traverse City has a shortage of nurses, so you can't get help when needed. I passed out waiting.

When we arrived, the receptionist ignored us for approximately 3-5 minutes, kept telling me to hold on, until I had to be rude with her to be allowed back to see my son. When she did allow us back, she told me to just go back, nobody told me what room or where to go, I had to find a nurse and ask. I will say that they were very quick to get imaging done. My son did not recognize his Dad, kept asking the same questions repeatedly. The doctor discharged him and told us to bring him back if he was vomiting, could not walk right, could not speak right, could not see correctly, etc.....which was literally everything that he was doing in that moment, I asked about them keeping him for observation to be safe and they would not do it. I ended up staying up all night watching him and took him to corewell in BR the following morning.

He needed help using the restroom and isn't the type to ask for help constantly so we stepped out for a second to have my mother help him use the restroom. The nurse approached us and told us that we weren't allowed to be in the hall(we were there maybe 15 seconds). We informed him that my dad was using the restroom and my mom was helping. We proceeded into the room after he finished and then told us that he didn't mind us being there but we don't need to be in the hall. (We were only there to allow my dad to use the bathroom) I Mentioned that we didn't mean to be out there but it seemed that he didn't want us there period. He had a rude gesture about it and said "oh ok". Dont take people here you care about!

This has happened two times in a row. And while the staff may not be as much to blame as the system in which they work, it is absolutely intolerable that they do not respect the time of their patients/customers. We too have a lot going on... work to do... people to see... lives to live... and 100% of the time in my experience they fail to respect this simple fact. The University of Michigan should be embarrassed to have its block 'M' on MyMichiganHealth in West Branch.

When the PA Zeist found out who I work for and what I do she immediately stopped the pain management protocol she said she was ready to proceed with, had a lidocaine patch slapped over my back and had me written up for discharge. Nurse Jewel told me she had no intention of reading my chart now or ever when she asked me what I was there for while I was in the midst of stabbing pain unable to talk and asked her to read my chart. I am still in extreme pain with stabbing sensations every few minutes. The tightness has loosened somewhat with the muscle relaxant I had to call back for the day because nothing was prescribed upon discharge, but now the stabbing pain has advanced to my right chest. Nobody ever showed me the location of the nodule discovered in my lung and I had to ask for a 4th time which lung it was in bc nobody could remember or get back to me with the answer. Finally upon seeing my discharge papers handed to me I asked again and they told me right lung...which is the side I'm having pain on. I have many questions i want answered. I'm in my bed now not capable of doing anything... knowing that I may have to call an ambulance at any time...and knowing that PA Zeist halted the treatment she was going to try on me because I work for God. In fact, she tried to gaslight me into a psychiatric hold because I can hear God and communicate with him. In fact, she said she does not hear the voice of God herself and believes there isn't one. For this evening's visit-Dr. Peacock was a very good and thorough Dr and did Not act offended to…read moresee me as a patient. Yes, I did wait a long time, but thankful to have this Dr. instead of the prior Dr. (I was seen 2 days ago to make sure my foot wasn't broken, and the Dr at that time, after waiting for 3 hours acted offended to have to come into the room at all. The roon was dirty and there was a spot of blood on the floor. Tonight's room was clean and the staff was more attentive. The Xray tech was nice both times. So to recap both visits-Dr. Peacock is a 100 Star Doctor. The other Doctor (I cannot recall the last name) was the negative star Dr. Dr. Peacock has restored my faith in this hospital. As for the prior visit, I will be contacting the CEO. If you would have asked me 3 hours ago what hospital to recommend, it would not have been Munson in Grayling. For now, depending on the Dr, I would say ok to Dr. Peacock and would trust my family to see him.

I woke up in some pain today 7/2/26 called into work and made doctor's appointment for the 6th…read more Through out the day my friends and husband were concerned it was a gallbladder problem and convinced me to go to ER. I arrived before 8pm. It was busy so I settled in for long wait. Around midnight I got into a room. I never saw a nurse and was never hooked up to machine for vitals. At 1am my doctor came in and said he was ordering ultrasound. At around 230am I decided to leave. Enough was enough. When I went to nurses station to let them know I was leaving they wanted to talk to my nurse. I informed them I had not seen a nurse. They were very surprised. Turns out my nurse was named Amber. I never meet Amber because I believe she forgot me. I left and will pursue medical attention from doctor on Monday. They can order an ultrasound. I just have to get through 4th of July weekend and hope my pain stays mild because I do not have another marathon wait at ER. I will drive to Mount Pleasant or Midland next time unless I am dying I honestly think they forgot about me in that room.

Do not judge this place by the neighborhood or the condition of the facility, which is fairly dated and run down. I couldn't recommend Hackley Hospital more highly.
