I had to leave without being seen. Why in God's name would an allergist use a scented product to clean?! I had to leave and I called the receptionist for my vehicle to tell her to shred my information and she got very snarky with me. Horrible experience would not recommend.

I've only had 1 appointment. So far, I'm not impressed. My appointment was at 8am. I was seen at…read more8:25am. The woman, Amy, was dismissive & never asked about my joints swelling or getting hot. She simply stated I was young & probably didn't have RA, even though I've already been diagnosed by an advanced medical center in NYS. Once I mentioned my Scleritis, she apparently relented that I did have RA and sent in the doctor. He was great, not super thorough, but it was my first appointment. I read, in previous reviews, that Amy dismissed another young patient (although, I'm 45 and don't consider myself young). Maybe she doesn't realize that the goal with RA is to start treatment early to prevent the joint damage associated with the disease. I had x-rays done (of every joint in my body) 5 years ago, that discovered I already had both RA damage and osteoarthritis damage. She only ordered X-rays for my hands and feet. I definitely don't feel like this place is as thorough as Upstate Medical Center in NYS. I felt like I was in good hands there. I also have latent tb. Upstate wanted to start me on the course of antibiotics to get rid of that, so that I could begin biologics. Amy said there was no need to take it now & that I should wait. It's an 8 month course of medication. Why wait until I need the biologic? Then, I'll be stuck waiting almost a year to begin taking it. What if I do need the biologic now? I haven't seen a Rheumatologist in 5 years due to COVID and my move to Florida. I also wasn't impressed with them not having an answering service. I noticed this sign when I came in (see picture). I know the medical profession is much different in Florida than NYS, but I was hoping for better from an RA/ immunology doctor. I'm extremely fit and active, do yoga, stretch daily, eat well... yet, all Amy wanted to offer me was a few sheets on how to stretch. Doesn't she think I know how to stretch? Maybe some of her patients don't, but she shouldn't assume no one does. Hopefully, the situation will improve after they receive all of my records and X-rays. I also read on here that they have been dismissive of another young patient! Look elsewhere is you are under 65!!

Even though I didn't get to see the Dr., I still felt it was important to write this review as a physician's office staff is also greatly important to a patient's care. I called on Monday to try and make an appointment. I followed the prompts for a new patient wanting to make an appointment and left a message, giving them the information they wanted and a short history of my symptoms and medical history. By late morning Wednesday, I had not heard back yet and decided to call again repeating the same scenario. By Friday morning I still had not heard back from the office. I called again and chose a different prompt so I could speak with someone. I was very courteous; I understand that offices can get busy, maybe the scheduler had been sick or on vacation, etc. After sharing with the woman who answered the phone that I was wanting to make an appointment but hadn't been able to, she asked to put me on hold. 5 mins later, another woman answered and asked how she could help. I shared the name of the woman who was already helping me and she said, I know, she asked me to help you. So, I asked her if I could make an appointment. She said she couldn't do that, but took my last name and let me know that the scheduler would get back to me. She didn't know when that would be and we ended the call. 5.5 hours later I finally got a call from the scheduler only for her to say that they don't see patients who have previously been in a car accident. I thought maybe she confused me with someone else. I was not in a recent accident, there was no lawsuit or workman's comp case so I shared again that it was a closed thing and it happened over 4 years ago. She repeated, "it's our office policy that we don't see patients who have been in any car accident no matter when." When I said "OK. Do you mind me asking why? I've just never heard of this." She said "sure, it's just our policy." She had this information for a week. A week longer I now have to wait to seek treatment. I'm most frustrated with how discourteous they were and unapologetic for their lack of care and waste of my time and efforts. I'm also dumbfounded on this policy of not treating patients who have, at one point in their medical history, been in a car accident. It's not a recent injury with possibility of lawsuit or workman's comp, so what do they care? I would bet that a good majority of their clients have a physical trauma of some sort in their patient history. This boarders on discrimination and speaks volumes of this office to me and the care I am seeking. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.
