Bought myself the prettiest sterling silver necklace here. I have sensitive skin and absolutely cannot wear costume or plated jewelry so I always ask about the materials used. It's a beautiful piece that I can wear everyday or for an evening out. The sales ladies were wonderful and answered my questions promptly, even advised that the maker of this piece does videos online and included a card with instructions on how to care for my necklace. How awesome! Very happy with my purchase and I'll be back soon.

I ADORE this store!!!! I think they have the most fabulous mix of merchandise anywhere in the Indianapolis area (including Carmel, Fishers & Noblesville). I hadn't been in for quite some time and decided to make it part of my morning out with my stepdaughter. I wish I could have purchased so much more and had a tough time making my final choices. We got our purchases boxed up nicely and ready to be gift wrapped at home. There was a nice little crowd, all wearing masks of course and the owner was mindful of the number of people inside the store. If you are looking to treat yourself or looking for a gift; I highly recommend Artifacts!

Bigger than their largest bag! Fillable "pouf" that doubles as a floor pillow or ottoman. Perfect for dorm storage for towels and linens!

Super, awesome store for any and every gift you need... I love everything in here! Found a lovely amathest circle rink, ($30), and a perfect graduation gift for a new college dorm student: see pic: it's a fillable "pouf" that doubles as a floor pillow, but great place to store towels, linens and other soft items in a small dorm or apartment. ($89). Almost large enough to be an ottoman actually. Bonus: really lovely people work here too!

My wife and I stopped in during a day trip to explore Broad Ripple. This shop is located next to "The Corner" at Guilford and Westfield. It is filled with jewelry, home decor/gifts, and appears to do custom framing too. The shop is small but is filled with a lot of high quality items. My wife kept finding many cool things to look at. The items seemed unique and well made which explains why they are on the pricey side. If you like looking for a special gift, for either yourself or a friend, check this place out. Review #2156

LOVE.this.store!! Small Business Saturday going on!! 10% off of $25+ and a FREE reusable tote (pictured below) with purchases of $100+ !! This store has everything you've been looking for and everything you don't need but have-to-have! Haha!! I always leave spending WAY more than I planned and with items I'm obsessed with that I didn't know I needed until I saw them! On this trip I purchased earrings, a pup wristlet and p.s. I snagged the pink reusable tote!

If you need a special gift this is the place to shop! They have a large selection of beautiful jewelry. There is an item in every price range. They have local and American made jewelry that isn't sold in other stores. They also have pottery, cards, baby shoes, and the most darling mustache pacifiers! This is where I want my husband to shop for jewelry for me, not at the mall! I bought my nieces bracelets there that they love. The ladies working were so friendly and welcoming and not pushy.

Charles Mayer & Company is a "gift shop," though likely not in the fashion you're thinking. If your primary thought is "I'm on a budget," then Charles Mayer & Company is likely not going to be your first destination. This is a "premium" gift shop offering home decor, tableware, books, frames, candles/fragrance, linen, jewelry, fashion, decor, baby items and more. Charles Mayer & Company began in downtown Indy in 1840. Charles Mayer immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 19. It grew into a five-story building and operated until 1954 when its inventory was sold to L.S. Ayres. The building was then razed in 1959. Fast forward. In 1992, Claudia Ryan decided to revive the story alongside her husband, Tim. Tim just happens to be a maternal great-great grandson of Charles Mayer. A new tradition was born inside this store on the northside intentionally designed to resemble a home. It's also, much to my surprise, more accessible than I expected - though, given the price of some of its items I'll openly admit this is one store where I'm super cautious. Somewhat ironically, Ryan is also a former VP of Fashion Merchandising for L.S. Ayres. So, a few things here. First off, the customer service is impeccable. If you know me, you know I'm a bit of a slob. Hey, it's true. You can say it. I don't exactly radiate the vibe of being someone who's going to enter your store and spend a lot of cash. So, I'm always a little impressed when I enter a more luxe store and am treated well. At one point, for example, I wrote about the fact that I'd gone through the former Saks Fifth Avenue, not particularly dressed well but with cash in hand, and was completely ignored. That doesn't happen here. This is a neat little corner - you're talking places like Kids Ink, Byrne's Grilled Pizza, an art gallery, a butcher and more. It's quite cool. Charles Mayer & Company feels natural here and really fits in with the vibe of the area. The people were friendly. The store is surprisingly accessible. The selection is remarkable - I'm particularly dazzled by the MOVA Globes. While not everything on the website is in-store at all times, it seems like they can usually get it and in a pretty timely manner. Have you ever wanted a $145 designer fire extinguisher? They have them here (and they are incredible). This place is completely dazzling. However, again, it's definitely a more luxe gift shop. If you're looking for a gift on the finer side, this is definitely a place to check out.

An exceptionally helpful and friendly person made multiple attempts to contact me and was able to find the specific item I was looking for in a slightly different color that still fit in with the decor I was trying to match and which would still get to me in time to be under the tree. Even though it wasn't a big ticket item, Charles Mayer & Company made me feel like I was their most important customer.

When I paid, her first comment was along the lines of how "barely anyone pays with cash anymore." Already, the vibe was off. Then, she asked where I was from. After I informed her I grew up in the local area, she immediately started rambling about her neighbors from India. It was completely inappropriate, micro-aggressive, and made me wonder if she subjects all people of color to this kind of treatment. To make matters worse, I had to return to the store because I was shorted an item due to a system error. The store was nearly empty, but I could immediately tell she was heated and just wanted me gone. I brought an item to exchange and asked about stock for a few others, which is a standard request for a store employee. Instead of helping, her tone got meaner and her voice grew so loud that it felt like I was being reprimanded just for asking questions. She literally started yelling at me. I could see the hate in her eyes, and it took everything in me not to react disrespectfully back to her. Out of pure exhaustion, I gave up and only exchanged half the value of my item. This was hands-down the worst shopping experience I've ever had. If you're looking for similar items but prefer a classy environment where the staff actually welcomes you, I highly recommend going to Charles Mayer & Company instead.

Bon Vivant specializes in girly accessories for the home and body. Outside, floral club covers are on sale at 30 percent off; inside, myriad motley treasures--bright yellow room dividers, zipper and strap-happy purses, various designer dishwashing soaps, bar soaps and lotions--unfold on shelves. My favorite from the latter genre includes Earthworks, a line of bathstuffs that has been featured in countless magazines. No wonder: the scents are strong but soft; ephemeral but enduring. Try the almond bath truffles. Don't forget the jewelry and local art. Large, swirly paintings in the style of modern Picasso dot a few walls. Pick up a pamphlet for Barbie's catering company, Sweet Tea, on your way out.

To the right are several rows of clothing that extend to the back of the shop. To the immediate right of the doorway are accessories, party games, greeting cards, and other small gift items.
