I had some difficulty locating the salon but a quick call to Tennille and she was able to give me clear directions. The salon is located on a business park that looks like a former apartment complex. Don't let the exterior fool you on her quality because it's exceptional. I got my hair shampooed, dried, and cut. She also applied a protein treatment. Everything came to about $200 before tip andincluding the hair moisturizer that I decided to purchase. The receptionist didn't make any calls to indicate they actually tried hard to find someone else. They advertise walk-ins so this was very disappointing seeing as I had an appointment, and have a health issue that prohibits me from driving so I had to take a day off of work, work out a ride, and have an event tomorrow which is why I made my appt for that day/time. On top of that, I was not offered parking validation (which they normally do), so I ended up paying for no services provided.

The stylists listen to what i want and offer up suggestions as well, but I never feel pressured to do things differently than what i want. My previous stylist wrote out my formula which I provided to the stylist at Roots during a consultation where I was assured that they could keep my hair consistent with what my previous stylist had done. Despite the fact that they had the formula, they took (what i percieved to be) short cuts to get me in and out faster (I have a fashion color and while I know its time consuming to do it right, I'm paying upwards of $200 to come to you, if you don't want to take the time to do what the formula is explicitly explaining for you to do, then cool, let me know that and we'll part ways on good terms). I gave them chance after chance to get it right but it became clear it wasn't going to happen. At one point a darker color was put on my roots without okaying it with me first (i absolutely did not want that), another time my roots were made even lighter than the rest of my hair, effectively giving me hot roots. I eventually gave up and went to a new stylist/salon, gave her the same formula from my original stylist and my hair came out like it always used to before going to Roots. I'm more than willing to work with a stylist to fine tune things but it was clear that they either didn't understand how to work with the color or were just set on taking short cuts to save on time, which is fine, but then the service is not going to be worth the amount of money your asking me to pay.

I went to get my hair done by Erica, who is an amazing stylist. My hair color and extensions were perfect. Erica is great because she is clear and concise. She walks you through your extension process, with matching, putting them in, and more. She is very knowledgeable of her trade. I highly recommend Erica for your extension needs! Just to put some contacts in this review I have naturally curly hair it is so thick and dense and it requires a lot of patience and time and product when ever you're styling. I've been on our search for my forever hairstylist for a long time. I wanted to find a salon that was convenient easy to get to go to polity and a good price. I've had my fair share of horrible hair salon experiences I've been told everything from I have to charge you more because your hair is so thick and it's impossible for me to do what you want. I've left salons unhappy many of times. Honestly I was extremely nervous to go to the salon I I had confidence in my hairstylist after viewing her previous work but I've been less so unhappy by so many other stylist I wasn't sure of what to expect! The hairstylist I had was named Melanie! She was totally awesome! I've been to or heard curly hair specialist and some of the other top recommended hair stylist in Central PA. But I've never left the salon as happy and confident as I have when I left after Melanie did my hair. She took the time to separate each section of my hair put foils in and paid attention to every detail. She even did a great job with cutting and not taking off too much! 'Just went in after the state let the salons open. They were totally set up to handle COVID. Everything was super spotless and they had hand cleaner, thermometer(if needed) and had moved stations so there was plenty of room for social distancing.
