We were delighted by the welcoming set up with Champaign, a basket of fruits and snacks. We all enjoyed playing all the games available, the amazing view of the mountains and barbecuing on the back deck. Before check-in at the house, We spent the day at Camelback Beach Water Park, which was blast for all of us. The park is very close to the house. Our host, Greg, was very helpful and accommodating and The deposit was refunded to us very quickly.

Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. Stick with dunkin' for breakfast. Ice cream not bad, soft serve is large portions. Mirror maze was basically all broken. Only 2 things really worked when we went in, by the next day only one worked. Pay dirt (mining gemstones/fossils) was a high value activity for my kids - extra worth when you have the 25% discount. Water park is tiny and cold (there's a few small hot tubs), but has a lazy river; slushies standard ICEE brand, mini golf is sad (only like 7 holes maybe). Kids had a ton of fun at the candlestick bowling -- there's a bunch of game modes to try. Only worth if you get the unlimited. Magiquest was 4-6 hours of running around fun and defeating monsters. Wands and attachments are all upcharges from standard. Mostly can only access up and down with elevators so when one is out of order it takes forever. We didn't experience anything outdoors bc of rain.

So many problems and way too many visits by the police for my liking. We considered selling our membership and moving out. Place was horrible in every area. This year (2016/2017) a new manager took over and he turned this campgound around. Everything is clean, I feel safe again. No more drunk driving on the grounds or midnight drug deals. He managed to make this campground safe for families. He stopped non members from using the facilities and taking over the common areas. They bring in awesome entertainment and actually try to make the weekend enjoyable for families. He has strict rules and some people don't appreciate those rules. In my opinion, maybe those people were part of the problems this campground used to have. We are delighted with the new manager and the outstanding work he has done in such a short time. Most of the staff is friendly and accommodating. Once again, the campground is a home-away-from-home for us. If you tried Scotrun in the past and had a horrible experience, give it another try. Highly suggest looking at reviews across multiple websites before booking and go back through the last 10 years of reviews - there are common themes we wished we would have heeded before reserving a stay here.

First impressions matter and the outside is worn, the lights on the canopy look like they were hung in the throes of an epileptic seizure and the "street presence" is ZERO when coming in from the main road. There used to be some decent landscaping on the approach but that has been torn out (too pricey or too lazy? Who knows). Put a little work into the place and it could be a great hang. Folks are so desperate for something to do off-hill UT adjacent. Bring back happy hour music and the pool table and dart board. Get the game on the TV. Place is pretty mid in its current state. Maybe they'll get some leadership with the drive to bring back the luster. Would love to see it. PS fix the damn lights on the lake. It's the nicest feature of the hotel and it looks like a swamp at present.

First the positives: It is a large house that will fit a large family or party under one roof. The hot tub is relaxing after a long day of skiing. The house is in a peaceful neighborhood overlooking woods. It has a large TV. Now the negatives: The house is dated and in pretty poor condition with many chips in the paint and scratches on the wall. The furniture is tired and mismatching with some questionable stains on them. Carpeting is stained and warn down and should have been replaced a while ago. Bedrooms were spacious but the beds were not comfortable. Heating in the bedrooms is spotty, some rooms were very hot while the Master Bedroom has no functioning heating elements and is very cold. The website advertises "Fully stocked kitchen, with stainless steel refrigerator " The kitchen has a few basic utensils. The pots and pans are basic and has food burnt onto them from prior guests. The coffee maker works well. There is only one wine glass. The rest of us used the mismatched glasses. The most frustrating part was that the House was billed as "a mere 10 minutes away from Mount Airy Casino, Shawnee, Camelback," This was completely false as it pertained to Camelback Ski resort. We decided to rent this home because of its proximity to Camelback. When we were given the exact street address we Google-mapped it and found that the distance was over three times that! It was a 35-minute ride (in no traffic on a Sunday morning at 7:15 am) down a number of remote and windy roads, that thankfully were not snow covered or that would have added much more time. Once we found out that the house was three times as far as advertised we called the office to question the 10-minute advertisement. We were told "a supervisor would call us back after 5pm." This did not happen so we emailed the following day and did not receive a response before our stay. When we arrived back home we emailed two days in a row again to complain about the above items. We tried calling and emailing as a means to engage the people at Poconostay.com, but we have never had out emails or phone calls returned. We were very disappointed with the house and feel that the listing does not represent the actual home. I would not recommend this place nor this agency.
