I backed my car into a pole being the super blonde that I am. Being new to town, I had to depend on yelp reviews to figure out where to take my car. Being a female, I figured I should hit a couple of places to get quotes and also to see how I was treated. Two of the five places did the typical 'darling, you just need to contact your insurance company and we will deal with them directly, you are not going to understand all the work needed for this repair.' Two of the places quoted an insanely high amount, and after contacting my guy friends with pictures, I realized those places were just going to rip me off. Then came Art's Auto Body shop with the perfect price and just the perfect amount of customer service. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, showed me what had to be done and let me pick the parts that he would order to finish the work. The gentleman working the front desk seemed really new as he could rarely answer my questions and just seemed so nervous around me (no clue how a short, blonde chick could make anyone nervous); however, as soon as the owner's son (again, I believe the son and I believe also the co-owner) was always helpful and gladly understood and did all of my requests. After reading the reviews here, I took my 2005 Honda Accord in for some bumper and front fender body work and paint and couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. I also had them do a full detail on the car while it was in the shop and was quite happy with the result. The car was plenty dirty and dusty with 2 kids as regular occupants in the back seat but it came back looking like new. Plus, the price was less than what I've paid in the past at places that haven't done nearly as good of a job. An honest and accurate estimate, a good price, great quality work, and friendly service. It's good to find a family-run, neighborhood business that you can trust for a fair price and excellent quality work. I have been trying to like and trying to like these guys for a while now. With how hard or impossible it has been to get a quote, I am thinking it is a blessing in disguise that they couldn't even get me a quote. There I was with cash in hand ready to give these guys my business, and not once but twice, after I had called ahead to meet with whom I assume was "Art", to get a quote. I had to drive across town each time to meet him AT THE AGREED TIME, which HE PROPOSED, and low and behold he was not there either time. Each time I was handed a phone with "Art" on the other end and he would tell me he was going to be another 40 minutes or so. If it is this hard to get him to even give me a quote.. I can't help but imagine what a nightmare it must be to do actual work with them. The other guys have a smile and regular hours and a three year warranty on all work... Imagine how bad warranty work would be when customer service is literally no existent. Maybe they are good at body work, maybe not. I was recently visiting Denver while I got into a minor collision. Of course I was on a tight timeline since I needed to make the 1,500 mile trip back home ASAP. I drove around Denver getting estimates from 5 different shops, Art's estimate was the lowest by $1,000. Not only was theirs the lowest estimate but they were also accommodating and got me in within the week (all other shops said 4+ weeks.) Not only did my car look amazing when I picked it up but I was more than pleased with the customer service I received from start to finish. Just picked up my car from Art's yesterday and couldn't be happier. First off, he was able to give me an estimate on the spot - something that requires an appointment weeks out at other locations. Then, he was completely able to work with my schedule - he let me bring in the car a few days later after I got off from work (around 6pm), turned it around 2 days later, and even let me pick it up around 630pm. The work itself is perfect - looks good as new! AND I was pleasantly surprised to find my car washed for me too. He did all of this, on top of giving me 30% off my deductable. I unfortunately have needed some body work on my vehicle, but luckily Art's makes the whole process relatively painless. They did a great job on my vehicle and as other people mentioned, gave me a discount on my deductible. A couple small downsides that were worth dealing with to get the work done here: there isn't a secure drop box so I had to arrange to handover the keys to the owner. Full points because he was flexible and came by to meet me at the shop after hours. Also their main line of communication is the owner's cell phone and I had a hard time getting a hold of him once or twice, not sure that my voicemails went through. But once we spoke everything got arranged, no big, probably a technology error as he was great about calling me back on previous occasion. So, summary: local place, very friendly owner who will work with you and you won't get lost in the system. Not a ton of frills, but great work for a better price than anywhere else. Great Service, great value. I'm a life-time avid backyard mechanic who does everything but paint. I know a good paint job, but don't have the place to do it. My girlfriend's car ('03 VW) had a few dings, scratches and a couple deep enough to go to metal, otherwise the paint was in great shape. I was most worried about the bare metal and wanted to get it painted and protected, along with looking good again overall. We searched the web and asked friends but since not many people get elective body work done on their car, paying out of their own pocket, it was tough to find a good shop at a reasonable price. Most of our quotes from larger shops were geared towards insurance quotes and were tough to swallow. Art's had good reviews online so I took the car up. Their quote was the best yet, by a solid margin but more importantly, the shop was small and both the owner Alvaro and painter Josh were terrific to work with. They charged for the hard work, and were very reasonable on the easier stuff like buffing and such. They custom tailored the quote for the car and what we wanted. This attention to what we were after is how they came in under the big guys in price, but over delivered in quality. No computer formulas, no "take a number" kind of service. I think this is why they are successful. They gave us a time-frame, we dropped it off, picked it up, and it looks great. Really great in fact. They went the extra mile, cleaned the car, took care of other small things. Really great work. Removing deep scratches and matching paint to an already shiny paint job is tough work and requires talent... Much harder than just replacing a panel and painting the whole car. They've got the talent and the customer service attitude. I have an old '72 truck I'm rebuilding. I plan to take it to these guys for the paint job. I'm pretty excited. read more

This is an awesome place. Alvaro the owner and painter gave me a great quote that was more than fair after a horrible accident to my Honda Accord. It was the best quote hands down ($3,000), beyond what others were pricing in ($4,800). And, since I didn't have full coverage, I needed to find a place that was economical and had a good reputation for doing a very good job. This was it! The place is hidden, so I liken it to finding a diamond in the rough. Besides giving me a great quote, Alvaro helped me out. Knowing that all of the damage was out of pocket, when there was hidden damage in the front of my car, he got me a discount on the parts and the additional labor was free! After the car had been completed, within only a couple of days for all the damage fixed, it looked brand new! I was amazed. The color matched perfectly and even all the small dings were gone. It actually looked better after the accident and the repairs than before. All I have to say left is that Alvaro, the owner, is a good guy and willing to help people in these tough times. After reading the reviews on here I had to give this place a try, what could go wrong? Well....... We took our car in on Friday and talked to Alvaro who got us set up and said he would get us in early next week(we wanted this to be done before Friday which he promised he could do). He also promised to call us before Wednesday. Thursday rolls around so I give them a call, and they don't even remember me/have us in their system. After having the phone passed around 3 times I finally was able to talk to Alvaro who remembered us. He said he was really busy and wouldn't be able to get us in until next week. When we finally went to drop off our car Wednesday - almost two weeks later - nobody was there to take it from us. We had to wait until 15 minutes after their opening time for someone to get the car from us. Finally, we showed up at 4:30PM and they hadn't even started on the car. They called us at 6:15PM to let us know the car was ready. $260 of labor - so over $130 an hour - we had our car. I will not be back....ever. read more

After one of those bad luck kind of days (aka my husband backed into my brand new car in the driveway) we had to find a good auto body shop that wouldn't rip us off. I, of course, turned to Yelp to help find one since I've never had to use one here in Denver. Art's Auto Body had fantastic reviews, so we decided to take it in for an estimate. My husband was very impressed with them when he took it in. Alvaro was super fair, very friendly, and it was obvious he knows his stuff! We got a very fair estimate in minutes. After the insurance company came to check out the damages, and quoted us a little more than the body shop did, we made an appointment to bring in my car. We were told we could drop it off anytime on Monday and pick it up in 3 days. It's not very convenient for us, being we are in South Denver suburbs, but it was worth it! The car was done right on time and you can't tell there was any damage whatsoever! They even knocked 20% off our deductible and washed the car! It looked so sparkly and new! We were very happy with everything and would use them again and recommend to friends and family! read more

Fair warning, long review. This is because my experience was complicated and I think it's important that people going to Art's get a really good, auto knowledgeable, review. Before going into details, let me say this: Art's is like getting 85% of a high-end shop at 65% the price. That final 15% service delivery could make or break your experience and that's what I'm going to cover in my review. I went here because yelp had given this auto shop such great marks and the best determinant of future behavior is past behavior, so I felt confident in Art's ability to handle my situation. My car was hit hard on the driver's door/pillar and had some subsequent body damage along the left side of the car. The quote I got from Art's was significantly less than other body shops who didn't seem interested in doing the job: Alvaro was very friendly and assured me that he could get the car back to normal. They successfully pulled the pillar back out and replaced the door with a used part and repaired the other dents along the side of the car. It took a few days extra but I got the car back in pretty good shape. Paint finish was good and the door/pillar was in good alignment on the body but after a few minutes of inspection (and a test drive), I noticed a few things that were below my expectations: the color didn't match the hood or the trunk (they didn't fade it into the older paint I guess expecting that the color wouldn't be that different, but it was), the door didn't make a good seal against the body of the car, body filler used on a spot on the fender wasn't sanded down correctly, the upholstery had a few new grease/dirt stains, the radio antenna wasn't repaired, a couple door seals weren't replaced that should have been, and some interior fasteners were broken or not used. After discussing it with Alvaro, he took ownership of the color, door sealing, and body work issues, but it took almost an additional week to get the car back. The door sealing issue (already a design flaw in Subaru's frameless doors) was never completely solved. Instead, I've had to take the door apart and seal it up myself, but it isn't a huge problem. The rest of the issues were satisfactorily resolved and the car is now 99% of what it used to be. Although I found fairly significant issues upon repair 'completion', I am generally pleased with the quality of the work (and I'm a tough customer). The overall value of the work is very high but you will have to be scrutinous of the final product. I suspect for people looking to get a fender bender fixed or just need a car to be functional this is the ideal shop, but if you want your car to be absolutely spot-on (or have a complicated accident) then you may get annoyed that they don't do a 'perfect' job. Of course, I've had similar experiences with other, more high-end shops as well. Ultimately you'll have to be the judge. read more

I don't write reviews often, but after my recent experience at Art's I had to come here and give credit where due. A few weeks ago I backed into a railing and demolished my trunk. I took it to the dealer (yeah, I know...) and needless to say, their estimate to fix the trunk was astronomical. So my insurance sent an estimator out and his estimate was less than half that of the dealer's. So I took it to Art's, and he said he could fix it for less than my insurance's estimate. I was a little skeptical, but after picking up my car I have to say it's practically good as new. Not only did Art's fix my trunk perfectly, he also fixed a few other dings, and then cleaned and polished my car so that it looks as good as the day I bought it. Arturo was so friendly and did not hesitate to come out to talk to me when I pulled up this morning. I had a minor issue that was causing me a lot of trouble. Someone backed into my car, causing the hood latch to not release. Art got right down and started to see what the issue was. He then took off the grill (which was a pain) and was able to release the latch. He made sure that I got the hydraulic fluid in there right away and let me go without asking for anything!
