**Christmas Cheers with a Touch of Glam**…read more Celebrated a Christmas party at Storys Building, and the experience was a mix of luxury, fun, and high energy. The first two floors are dedicated to dinner seating, while the third floor hosts parties and gatherings. The space worked, but with the number of people invited, it felt a bit tight -- something to keep in mind for larger groups. The vibe was fantastic. Drinks were expertly crafted, the bartenders were attentive, and a DJ kept the energy flowing in the background. As the night progressed, everyone hit the dance floor, and the party truly came alive. Bathrooms were plentiful and well-maintained, and the thoughtful touch of wellness kits in the ladies' room added a hint of luxury. One minor hiccup was the coat check -- it was a bit congested and struggled to accommodate all the coats. But my biggest suggestion for improvement would be the addition of an elevator. Climbing three floors in heels and dresses proved challenging for many, and an elevator would make the space more accessible without taking away from its elegance. Overall, Storys Building delivers a lively, luxurious, and memorable party experience. The energy, drinks, and attention to detail make it a spot worth revisiting -- just come prepared for a little stair workout if you're headed to the third floor.

I put a pair of sunglasses in my backpack's front pocket, I fully expected it to be crushed during coat check. The staff voluntarily assured me that they would make sure it was protected. I've been to other events where the coat check staff had lost my jacket, so the extra care on my belongings added to the positive experience. The staff there were pleasant and even remembered my face when I checked out my coat on the way out. The hors d'oeuvres were great, I enjoyed everything I tried, like the mini sliders, fried chicken, and bruschetta. We also had a taco station that was good too. I didn't expect any less since they are under the same hospitality group as Byblos and Patria, which I've dined at before and enjoyed. The biggest plus is the location, at the heart of the Entertainment District. It's close to many offices and the Financial District. Our cocktail hour ended in 2hrs but there are plenty of bars nearby to extend the get together for another drink. For example, Grace O'Malley's is just across the street and not too busy to grab a seat on a weekday night.

Having an industrial loft atmosphere, this venue is right in the heart of downtown Toronto near the Entertainment district and hustle and bustle of King West. My partner and I had gotten engaged in 2019 where we had signed a contract with Second Floor Events after looking at many other venues in Aug 2019. Our wedding was supposed to happen in Oct 2020, but due to the pandemic, we were forced to postpone where we officially held our wedding reception at Second Floor events in Oct 2021. From the very first meeting with Nicole, the Events Producer, to tour the venue, to meeting our Event Coordinator, Cindy, we knew we were in great hands. When COVID hit, we had decided to postpone our Oct 2020 date to Oct 2021, something Second Floor Events was very accommodating with. We were able to choose a new date to our liking with no extra added costs. Due to pandemic restrictions, it was tough knowing when to start planning for our Oct 2021 as my partner and I eagerly waited to hear more news from the provincial government. Finally, as the pandemic restrictions slowly lifted, we reached out to our event coordinator, Cindy, about 2.5 months before our event was supposed to take place. With a short timeline to pull the whole event together, Cindy was responsive and answered all our questions during the planning process right to the day of the wedding. We were also surprised when we had the tasting how good the food tasted (which was very important!); we were also able to customize/change any aspects of the dishes we tried to our liking and tastes. During the wedding day, Cindy as well as the Second Floor Events staff was able to make sure things were more or less on schedule. Although we had a few hiccups, many guests raved about the food and what a great time they had. The beautiful venue itself added to the atmosphere of the entire night. As stressful as the planning was, we were glad and appreciative of the staff at Second Floor Events and wouldn't have imagined celebrating with our family and friends any other way. Overall, beautiful venue in the heart of downtown Toronto, great tasting food, and great staff to work with and coordinate your next event. Could not have asked for more! Thank you Second Floor Events!!

As Urgent as this was, we received a response almost immediately from an inquiry request from Andrew. We set up a walk through tour of the facility for the next day. This Banquet Hall is within a "strip mall" like building. To my surprise, there are multiple Banquet rooms (4 rooms total) that they have to offer accordingly to your guest count. ALL of the rooms are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Clean, spacious, and up to date renovations that surely will impress you and your guests. They offer a variety of packages & work with multiple vendors to make it your one stop shop. The Venue is located in a good area & the Pricing point is shockingly affordable. I say shockingly bc you would expect for the way this venue is set up to be far more costly than what it is. They have a good sized on site kitchen for use. Multiple small office rooms to use for party purposes (if available and upon request). Clean spacious bathrooms. Handicap accessible on the top floor. They do not have a ramp or elevator that leads to the downstair banquet rooms, only stairs. Plenty of parking on the backside of the building as well as street parking in front. Overall just an absolute gorgeous facility! We are so grateful to Marianne & Andrew for their phenomenal service. It felt like we were talking and dealing with family & Marianne made sure to take care of us in every way possible. She really was looking out for the well being of our family and took into consideration of our situation. She is the absolute Best! I am looking forward to our next big event so we can host it here. I originally booked the GOLD but the week of my daughter's party the DIAMOND became available so we luckily got it. Marianne was VERY helpful anything we asked she made it happen. From the moment of booking she made sure we were happy and if at any moment I felt worried she made sure to make it right. She knew what my daughter wanted and made it happen. Food was good, my decorations were stunning, servers were so helpful, bartender was on top of serving my guests with a smile and security guarded that door the entire night which made my guests and I feel at ease with the teenagers and younger kids at the party. I chose the emerald package so they set everything up for me and cleaned everything at the end of the night. Totally worth the price. Very happy with Treasure Banquet Hall. Family business who also treat you like family. I'll be booking again when my twins turn 16.

We had an inkling of this new event space in our neighbourhood, which sounded exciting, but the scope and depth of this place has exceeded all my expectations. The overarching theme is black-friendly events with mostly Caribbean or Africans hosting and also participating in various fun events. Some more serious than others, but plenty with social progressive themes, art exhibits, and some with musical atmospheres, and also plenty with vendors. It's not a club vibe here, with no burly security crowding the doorway, instead some friendly staff will greet you at the door and usually clue you in to what's happening at the time. Events don't go late into the night. I've been to many events here, usually free, everything from interviews with og members of the hip hop movement telling stories to a riveted audience, to robot games from France. But the food here has been fantastic too! From Trini doubles and Jerk bowls, to Jolof rice and Nigerian donuts, I'm always interested to see what's on offer and always buy something no matter what cuz I know it's gonna be good to mind-blowing. Like the vegan Jamaican Black cake, wow incredible! Top with a little rum and microwave for a few seconds, amazing! The Christmas market was fantastic here. There's even a second floor usually used for larger displays and art shows where there is adequate white space desired. I even randomly met the designer of the space at a community meeting in the hood all about reimagining the design of our local little park, and the guy was a guest there highlighting his work, with It's OK being one of them. A true gem in Queen west and a lovely addition to the tapestry here.

There are snack breakfast to-go items as well. Total shout out to the restaurant upstairs on the 5th floor. The second night of our trip I dined in with one of my friends. The fish tacos were delicious. The fish was fried nicely and paired with a yummy vinegar coleslaw. The flavors of the coleslaw were very balanced with some acidity and sweetness. The location was near to some of the best Indian food (Dil Se) I have ever eaten in my life. The two points off are because the parking underneath is literally like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie where the monsters are coming. Grey, ratty concrete, lights that blink on and off as if the power is in danger and you are about to be trapped in the pitch black in a terrifying parking lot with no clear exit except the elevator accessible only by a door that slams shut like it's announcing doom. I'm actually not kidding. How about a paint job, guys, some low-voltage, steady lighting and a proper auto-closer on the door? I estimate the entire job would cost less than the income on one fully-booked night in the hotel....
