The gallery is well lit with a lot of open space in the middle for walking around and admiring the artwork. The art is a mix of canvas, glasswork, statues, and even carvings. If you are interested in purchasing or learning more, there were staff on hand and a separate meeting area to hold sales discussions as well.

While I wouldn't recommend their space for a wedding, for a meeting, conference or reception it is absolutely perfect. There is a great view of the city from their brand new space on the 16th floor, and while the ceilings are on the lower, it suits the decor of the space. They don't just have large conference spaces, but smaller ones as well. They can easily host a reception of 400, but also a meeting of 20 - which is really key for a space like theirs, especially in their financial district location. If you're looking for this kind of space, you definitely won't be disappointed with St. Andrew's Club!

It's in the backyard of the AGO and the flying domino, OCAD, or Grange Park, in other words, kind of a Bermuda triangle of artiness. And if music is art, then The Music Gallery is music, and they have made that their mandate since the 70s. Promoting innovation and experimentation is their forte. It's this beautiful chapel adjacent to a bigger church/cathedral. Only negatives were the pews were uncomfortable after a while (we stayed for about 2 hours), and it was hot as Hades in there (I don't want to swear - it is a church after all). I agree with Kat. This building is a heritage site and a part of Exhibition Place. I worked at The Ex (Canadian National Exhibition) three different summers. My third stint was a cashier position for a Mexican eatery that was at the Automotive Building. It was just before I started my fourth and last year of undergraduate studies. It was cool working in this building. There were vintage cars that were also in this space. I probably didn't appreciate them as much as I do now, but it's nice looking back knowing that there were indeed car exhibits in this building. Gone are those car exhibits. You can only see Automotive Building as part of the building's concrete. These days, this space is for conferences. I frankly didn't go check it out. Part of me wants to preserve the memories that I have of this building. Perhaps if there is an event or conference that is held here and I'm attending it, I'd check it out. It was great admiring this building from afar. It opened in 1929. It's in good shape considering that it's practically a hundred years old. This building is close to the Princes' Gate. Parking at Enercare Centre is your best bet if you are driving. Otherwise, you can take the TTC or GO train down here. I enjoyed reminiscing. Second Floor Events is an event space that is located inside a historical heritage building down an…read morealleyway off King Street West near Spadina. Having an industrial loft atmosphere, this venue is right in the heart of downtown Toronto near the Entertainment district and hustle and bustle of King West. My partner and I had gotten engaged in 2019 where we had signed a contract with Second Floor Events after looking at many other venues in Aug 2019. Our wedding was supposed to happen in Oct 2020, but due to the pandemic, we were forced to postpone where we officially held our wedding reception at Second Floor events in Oct 2021. From the very first meeting with Nicole, the Events Producer, to tour the venue, to meeting our Event Coordinator, Cindy, we knew we were in great hands. When COVID hit, we had decided to postpone our Oct 2020 date to Oct 2021, something Second Floor Events was very accommodating with. We were able to choose a new date to our liking with no extra added costs. Due to pandemic restrictions, it was tough knowing when to start planning for our Oct 2021 as my partner and I eagerly waited to hear more news from the provincial government. Finally, as the pandemic restrictions slowly lifted, we reached out to our event coordinator, Cindy, about 2.5 months before our event was supposed to take place. With a short timeline to pull the whole event together, Cindy was responsive and answered all our questions during the planning process right to the day of the wedding. We were also surprised when we had the tasting how good the food tasted (which was very important!); we were also able to customize/change any aspects of the dishes we tried to our liking and tastes. During the wedding day, Cindy as well as the Second Floor Events staff was able to make sure things were more or less on schedule. Although we had a few hiccups, many guests raved about the food and what a great time they had. The beautiful venue itself added to the atmosphere of the entire night. As stressful as the planning was, we were glad and appreciative of the staff at Second Floor Events and wouldn't have imagined celebrating with our family and friends any other way. Overall, beautiful venue in the heart of downtown Toronto, great tasting food, and great staff to work with and coordinate your next event. Could not have asked for more! Thank you Second Floor Events!!

The vibe is rustic and hip with a clean, modern flair. Staff were all super friendly, helpful and professional. The vibe. The Distillery District charm. The food. They somehow are able to transform into so many different spaces, while still holding true to remind you that you are in a historic area. Coffee Now is having their pop up shop at Kaleido to offer specialty coffee every weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm). Coffee Now is well-known for organizing specialty coffee events, workshops and training. They roast their own coffee beans and I have visited their pop-up shop in North York. Of course I am thrilled to know their pop up shop is closer in my neighborhood. During their soft-opening, I have tried their signature Koji Latte which is very interesting which bring out the "sake" like flavour yet without alcohol. I, of course, tried their pour over coffee. Owner, Day is a well trained barista to make very good pour over coffee. I could taste multi-layers of taste notes in different temperatures which is the beauty of specialty coffee. They also have collaboration with a local patisserie maker, Once Patisserie to offer some desserts to pair with the coffee. Purin, Japanese pudding which is hard to find in Toronto. Brûlée basque cheesecake tastes very light that fits Asian's taste bud. During their soft opening, the service was friendly although they may not have cover for their hot drink for take out, but I got my drink and food with reasonable wait time. I will definitely go back as it is very close to me. The space is very comfortable to spend time to enjoy coffee on my own or as a group.
