Midwestern career college is a great place. I recently had a chance to visit its campuses and learn…read moreabout its programs. It is amazing how it is the only college in Chicago that has a Surgical Technology and EEG Tech programs. The retention and graduation rates well exceed those of its competitors, including community colleges. The staff and faculty take pride in serving their students and enabling them to begin their careers in healthcare, and now in IT and business. It's definitely a great value proposition for this who thing the traditional college is not the right path for them.

This was the first time that we went to the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) to…read moreattend their opening reception of the exhibition "Where Our Voices Unite." This was not just an art exhibition; it was a wonderful celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month! The exhibition was professionally and tightly curated by Yidi Wang in their "Gallery 1701" that's on the second floor of CHICAT.  It was nicely lit with lots of natural light.  There was artwork with many different media. It was a beautiful space and show!  I also appreciated their mission!  The "Where Our Voices Unite" show runs from May 21st  to June 8th, 2026. All the staff including the curator Yidi Wang were very welcoming.  It was a nice surprise that we were served a delicious buffet with abundance of Asian dishes and fruits!  I have been to many art openings, but have never seen so much food in any of them before.  Wine and beverages were also served.  There were many large nicely table-clothed tables that we could seat ourselves.  It was literally a celebrative gathering for the AANHPI Heritage Month! It was nice that the 11th Ward Alderwoman Nicole Lee was a special guest and made a short speech.  The Executive Director Tina and two other directors also made a brief speech. CHICAT is a non-profit that is "building a community where creativity fuels enterprise", and is worth our support.

She's a college senior and was one of the youngest artists. It was a lovely event where their board was introduced, there was a nice welcome, a soul food buffet and drinks and the opportunity to walk through the gallery and meet the artists. There's a lot of black talent in Chicago and I'm so proud of her for this honor!

Not only does he do the training but he (and Julie) goes the extra mile by helping each and every student get a job in the medical field after they graduate. One caveat here, there is no such thing as a guaranteed job! Nobody can offer you that. So the graduate MUST be flexible in regards to where they're going to work, which might mean traveling to a location that is out of the way or working inconvenient hours in order to be flexible. But once you get that experience you'll have a much better chance of getting a better position in the future. John is a man of many talents, he recruits, trains and places students in a field where there is currently a limited shortage. Both him and Julie are approachable and open to helping anybody who has a serious commitment for entering the medical field. The teachers are top-notch, and the practice materials and exams are incredibly helpful, and all those virtual labs to clear concepts giving you a hands on experience was super helpful. I passed Comptia A+, Security+, and Network+ with them, and Patrick and Peter were amazing always there to answer my questions and clear up any confusion. They're super friendly and always give you all the info you need. Plus, having the option for both online and in-person classes made it so much more convenient. On top of all that, CTS helped me polish my resume, shared legit job leads based on the courses I took, and kept me in the loop about upcoming job fairs. I am also not bashing them - I'm using my real name on this review because it's facts, nothing to hide. They go through a constant change of teachers, or their current teacher takes on a different position in the company. - Unstructured: neither your counselor nor anybody else knows what's going on for future class schedules, etc. -The biggest joke: you have a teacher that meets with students outside of America's hours- to have a study group on Sunday mornings. Yeah a study group. That's unprofessional, especially since the teacher holds a higher nursing degree and apparently doesn't know better. -Same teacher, refused to teach me over an incident that occurred- that had no doing of my own. I had my daughter willing to talk to whoever to explain & about 4 officers from a police dept. to back what had occurred and also willing to speak to the school. No one wanted to hear it. Just that this teacher didnt want to teach me. * I emailed the counslour, my previous teacher Michelle & Stephanie. ALL WITH NO RESPONSE BECAUSE THEY KNEW IT WAS BULLSHIT. I HAVE PROOF OF ALL THE TEXT MESSAGES, EMAILS AND ECT. * -So because of that - I only had a choice but to do night classes. And what kind of adult, licensed teacher, who also has a professional liscense, I beleive as an NP doesnt want to teach a student. Then why are you at Americare to teach. -Let's keep going - there medical bag that they charge you $375 for - none of it works and I beleive they purchased from Temu. That bad. - I went and did all my pre reqs there - incredible teacher! He is no longer there. GO FIGURE. -Then started the nursing program did Fumdamentals of Nursing then went into MEDSURG1 lecture MY FAULT DIDNT STUDY & I FAILED. So obviously I had to retake that course just the lecture part and then passed with an a 100%So all in all I did Fundamentals of Nursing lecture lab and clinicals I did MedSurg1 lecture and lab I did pharmacology1 Lecture- THEN CLINICALS. Then I had to take an ATI test. -Failed that. Well maybe it was because I had 4 or 5 different teachers and every teacher teaching or not teaching was something different - no standard across the board teaching material. Teachers do what they want. - The school offered no tutoring or anything and says you have 4 days to re take the ATI, and if you dont pass that one - back to Fundamentals of Nursing. I didnt know 1/4 of what was in that ATI of course NOT with all the different teachers I had. - One teacher, we did lab with, did our clinicals, came back and that teacher was gone. So of course with no help not knowing what to study no tutoring no nothing I re took and I failed it again. IMAGINE THAT. - Ok so Back to the beggining. I still cant take the day class still because a teacher doesnt want to teach me - so still stuck in night classes. But wait, theres a twist.... when I signed up for this school I signed up because it was hybrid meaning you do everything at home except for your midterms your finals your test out of labs and obviously your clinicals. Plot twist another new night teacher doesnt like the online teaching. So now id have to go in 2 or 3 times a week. Thats when I said thats it, Im done ! Almost 2 years wasted in time, money & everything else and nothing to show for it. -This school only cares about money, only wants to see you fail and is the most unstructured school ive ever been to- or ever heard of. I know there isnt much more options in Illinois for LPN programs. GRADUATION RATE IS ONLY 12% CONTINUED IN BELOW PIC BECAUSE ONLY ALLOWED SO MANY CHARACTERS

My kids don't go to Latin school but they played many basketball games with the Romans. The school…read moreis well located and beautiful. There is a lot of art on the walls. I'm sure that kids get good education in this school. This review is about behavior of parents of the Romans and the Romans Coach in season 2025/26. They put so much pressure on kids. One of the siblings of the Romans was cheering with mean words. The kid would position itself next to the hoop, so that only the players can hear. Unbelievable. One of the fathers was yelling at his kid because they were loosing. I felt so sorry for those kids, even though they are probably similar to their sickly ambitious parents. The Romans Coach is a nice looking woman, but unfortunately in traveling team she is well known to be mean toward the girls. She was so annoying during the games, she was too hard on her team, with an attitude of cruelty toward opposite team. Again - unbelievable. This is expensive school and kids in Latin school will be successful, but in the background of their success, there will be a lot of therapy, substance abuse, hidden inappropriate sexual behavior and on the top of that, life long competitive cruelty that was built in them in such a young age. I was learning things in my freshman and sophomore year of high school that many people didn't study until college. I made life-long friends there and had a wonderful grade school, middle school, and upper school experience.
