Midwestern career college is a great place. I recently had a chance to visit its campuses and learn…read moreabout its programs. It is amazing how it is the only college in Chicago that has a Surgical Technology and EEG Tech programs. The retention and graduation rates well exceed those of its competitors, including community colleges. The staff and faculty take pride in serving their students and enabling them to begin their careers in healthcare, and now in IT and business. It's definitely a great value proposition for this who thing the traditional college is not the right path for them.

This was the first time that we went to the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) to…read moreattend their opening reception of the exhibition "Where Our Voices Unite." This was not just an art exhibition; it was a wonderful celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month! The exhibition was professionally and tightly curated by Yidi Wang in their "Gallery 1701" that's on the second floor of CHICAT.  It was nicely lit with lots of natural light.  There was artwork with many different media. It was a beautiful space and show!  I also appreciated their mission!  The "Where Our Voices Unite" show runs from May 21st  to June 8th, 2026. All the staff including the curator Yidi Wang were very welcoming.  It was a nice surprise that we were served a delicious buffet with abundance of Asian dishes and fruits!  I have been to many art openings, but have never seen so much food in any of them before.  Wine and beverages were also served.  There were many large nicely table-clothed tables that we could seat ourselves.  It was literally a celebrative gathering for the AANHPI Heritage Month! It was nice that the 11th Ward Alderwoman Nicole Lee was a special guest and made a short speech.  The Executive Director Tina and two other directors also made a brief speech. CHICAT is a non-profit that is "building a community where creativity fuels enterprise", and is worth our support.

She's a college senior and was one of the youngest artists. It was a lovely event where their board was introduced, there was a nice welcome, a soul food buffet and drinks and the opportunity to walk through the gallery and meet the artists. There's a lot of black talent in Chicago and I'm so proud of her for this honor!

One caveat here, there is no such thing as a guaranteed job! Nobody can offer you that. So the graduate MUST be flexible in regards to where they're going to work, which might mean traveling to a location that is out of the way or working inconvenient hours in order to be flexible. But once you get that experience you'll have a much better chance of getting a better position in the future. John is a man of many talents, he recruits, trains and places students in a field where there is currently a limited shortage. Both him and Julie are approachable and open to helping anybody who has a serious commitment for entering the medical field. The teachers are top-notch, and the practice materials and exams are incredibly helpful, and all those virtual labs to clear concepts giving you a hands on experience was super helpful. I passed Comptia A+, Security+, and Network+ with them, and Patrick and Peter were amazing always there to answer my questions and clear up any confusion. They're super friendly and always give you all the info you need. Plus, having the option for both online and in-person classes made it so much more convenient. On top of all that, CTS helped me polish my resume, shared legit job leads based on the courses I took, and kept me in the loop about upcoming job fairs. Hidden fees were NOT disclosed upfront and when asked to have an itemized bill, the school could not come up with one. This institution is more interested in accruing revenue than helping their students to succeed. I would caution anyone reading this to read all of the reviews on here before thinking of enrolling at this school as these hidden fees may cause you to be financially strained in the end. If you look at the pass rate of this school for NCLEX-PN, it is BELOW the average passing rate in the state of Illinois and WAY BELOW the national average. No wonder this school is ON PROBATION. See the links at the end of my review. If I were you, I would spend my hard earned money on an institution that has a great reputation and an above average NCLEX pass rate. I took the class just to have an interesting life experience and possibly meet some new people, nothing more. And yet what I learned from Steve has stuck with me all these years later, and I still think about my experiences in his class from time to time. They were that meaningful -- even profound in some ways. That's the mark of a great teacher!

Unfortunately I never finished the last class, but wow, as I thought about it, Steven taught method acting like none other. Pure genius. Pretty much in line with the teachings of Stanislavski and Chekhov, but with Stevens' own blend of artistry mixed in! Without a doubt, his classes gave me the drive and ambition to pursue my acting career. And thankfully, I've been involved in some really, really, awesome projects. Thanks Steven!
