She is comfortable with working with you through the challenges of any piece. Sometimes she will sit with you for a conversation about just what you are trying to achieve, sometimes she will sketch out some ideas for you to check, sometimes she will help mix the colors. She is just that sort of instinctive teacher that you come across only very occasionally who has the kind of empathy and skill you need to move you to the next level. Her prices are very reasonable and her studio is comfortable and always well supplied. I cannot recommend Trisha highly enough!

I got a very rare disease called Sarcoidosis which is very debilitating. I felt I could no longer do the program due to its demanding schedule. I wanted my $4,500 back. Kessler said "he wasn't in the habit of taking money from people and not providing a service" in one conversation. However, he refused to give any of it back. The program was not full and he probably was hurting for money. Just be careful this guy. Make sure you've done your due diligence. He offered to hold the money and I could sign up in 3 years. No thank you. I'm out $4,500 and he's sitting pretty.

I liked that I did not have to purchase any supplies for this class. Now keep in mind you only come with what you brought; no brushes, paper, or paints were given away at the end. We had a small group and started off practicing watercolor techniques the first day and then jumped into small simple projects; still life, landscape, and abstract watercolors. As a beginner, I was in class with people who were professional artists who took the class as a hobby. I would have preferred to be in a class with newbies like me, so I could spend more time learning technique. But all and all I worked at my own pace and did not allow myself to be distracted by the years of experience of others. Our instructor Tye was kind, encouraging, and fun to work with. I would take another course here, they have plenty to choose from ceramics, printmaking, even a soap making course, and much more. Looking to be creative and meet some interesting people on a random weeknight, this might be your jam.
