I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised by the service. My family and I have received at Arundel Mills Dental Group! They are attentive and Dr Burns is on her game! There have been times where we had to wait. I agree, that is not preferable and certainly not something I enjoy. Yet when it comes to taking care of my families teeth, top notch! I also feel I can easily reach them via email or phone and often the Dentist speaks with me directly to address our needs. You will not find that at many practices! Judson L. was paid by Arundel Mills Dental as a feeble attempt to raise the rating, however this company is so greedy they just couldn't afford to hire enough fake reviewers to make an impact. Dr. Jason B. is overexaggerating, making it sound like the company is running a meth lab. However I do agree that I've moved from dentist to the next with my insurance and every single one in the state of Maryland does great work, but also attempts to scam me out of more money; usually they "find" a cavity or infection in a false tooth, or tell me I "need" more cleanings than my insurance will allow. Maryland is generally shady, just pick your poison guys. Personally I would only trust Asian dentists, at least they're careful and do great work and are easy to deal with. While Ulery isn't great either, it's your best option around. read more

I do NOT recommend Arundel Mills Dental Group. I visited Arundel Mills Dental Group specifically for a sensitive tooth and expected an evaluation for a possible cavity. This dentist told me they could not determine whether a filling was needed based on the X-Rays they took and required me to undergo a debridement (deep cleaning) before they could diagnose or treat the tooth. The debridement was presented as "necessary" for diagnosing the cavity, which I later learned is not true or standard practice. After paying for the debridement and then the filling, my tooth remained very sensitive. Sought a second opinion with a new dentist, at a new dental practice, who examined my tooth. They found the sealing of my filling/bonding was improperly done, re-did it correctly, and provided before-and-after photographic evidence showing poor workmanship done by Arundel Mills Dental Group. read more

Found this office on my mother's dental insurance website as a in-network provider, so she can get a second opinion and to determine if dental implants would be a good fit for her. Her appointment was May 6, 2025, she was a new patient of course due to her having a primary dentist already. Upon arriving 15 minutes prior to her appointment time, we were not greeted after we entered, we stood there waiting to be acknowledged by the receptionist. Eventually we were asked, "What were we there for?" I stated that my mother is here for a consultation. My mom was given a packet to complete, which was odd since she had already completed it electronically. After about 20 minutes of waiting after she finished completing the forms that is when the receptionist finally registered my mom in and was vaguely informed of a copay for x-rays. After that she was called to come back by the male assistant, as I proceeded to come with her, I was informed that only she can come back and he would come and get me after her x-ray was finished, that never happened. My 77yo mother who was left sitting in the room alone waiting and for an hour with no communication from staff, nothing! Two hours we spent in that office and not once did I see the dentist until after my mom's mobility ride called to say that they arrived. I then informed them that she had to leave, that is when the urgency kicked in their minds. The information the dentist attempted to tell me was not helpful at all. I provided the referral and I said after she viewed it she states, well this changes things. No kidding after she was sitting alone in that room. Then I said, "So this appointment was a waste of time." The reason she was here was for a consultation which never happened. The way my mother was treated being first a new patient and elderly was totally unacceptable! The whole experience is unwelcoming, they must be all related or something. I did notice that the "regulars" were given attentiveness and conversation. All patients new and existing should be treated well. These Negative comments are exaggerations, if not petty LIES! I am retired military, a successful business owner and my wife is a Doctor as well. My family has been going to Dr. Burns for over a decade. Her staff is efficient, organized,, meticulous and caring. I have never felt a lack of care, or disrespected. The waiting area always remains relatively empty, which I LOVE. From my experience they schedule each patient to receive "person attentive care". Being so dedicated to a single person when performing a service takes time. Think about it. How can u be providing intimate care if it didn't take some additional time. This isn't a fast food place singling trashy poisonous unhealthy fake-food! These people are inspecting your mouth which could give sign of other health issues using an exam and x-rays. The staff are very kind. The gentleman in these comments runs the office operations and takes his role seriously. He is a direct person and is incredibly efficient. He takes pride in making sure you are informed and doing what is required for your appointment. I see no issue with his professionalism. Again, he is direct. Dr. Burns is a lovely person, with SEVERAL DECADES of experience. She will take care of you, as if you were one of her loved ones. I am grateful for her service, as are so many people that have never bothered to look at yelp / or google reviews BECAUSE we LOVE going here. If this space isn't for you, DO NOT COME HERE. Something VERY SHADY is going on here. I don't know what. The dentist is nice. But the way everything is run is something else. Appts are weeks out. Even though every time I come here. No-one is ever in the waiting room really. This was before COVID even. There is always COPAY's for random stuff even though insurance is supposed to cover 100%. There is something very shady going on in the "Insurance/Billing" dept here just like the other reviews have said. No matter what insurance you have. You're always paying cash for something here. Also last time I went. I waiting almost over a hour in the dental chair before I was seen. There was only one other person being seen in the back but yet a very long wait????? Lastly. This place is taking COVID way too seriously. The desk people are dress in hazmat suits. They DON'T want people waiting in the waiting room. You got to fill out paperwork across the room. But yet the office staff is still touching the pen & clipboard when you give it back to them which makes the entire safety process useless. lol. Also I went in for a filling in one of my lower teeth. But now have a cavity in a different tooth right next door to the tooth that was filled. That is too much of a coincidence. Just saying.... At this point. After this cavity just appearing out of nowhere and reading the reviews. At the time of this writing. Also that fact I have been trying to reach the office like three times already to no avail. I have decided I won't be going back here and I'll be getting a different dentist. I wished I seen these reviews before I made this office my dentist. Reviews don't lie. First off Dr Cynthia Burns profile on Yelp is not her. Fake picture says Dr.B. I saw her myself at her office. Very unprofessional. This also includes her staff. Front desk lady Jasmine was nice but talked way too much. Dr Burns and her staff were very rude. Including a gentleman that likes to tell people what to do. My husband and I were patients there The dentist told me I had a root canal & needed to see an endodontist. I asked if they had a referral. They gentlemen at the front desi said I needed to find one myself. I did & did not have a root canal. Cost me a couple hun dollars though. Then my husband had a implant done. After he completed his implant at the orthodontist, the dental office refused to apply his insurance to his plan. We decided to go somewhere else. Today I called because I have a dental emergency (with my luck over the holiday weekend so I had to wait this long ) and this provider is listed as accepting my insurance. The office states it is open at 8am and it is now 8:40am but I spoke with a man on the phone who claimed his name was Dave. I told Dave that I had a dental emergency and needed to be seen. Jokingly I said I was concerned about going to the practice due to the reviews. The not so gentleman the tells me "yea we accept Medicaid and it's what we deal with that kind of clientele" I have Medicaid, couldn't believe he said that. So, I said to him, "okay that was pretty rude" he then says sorry what is your name, and I gave him my name, then asked if there was a dentist to see me today for my emergency? He said "no mam the office is closed to day" and I then said well why ask for my info if I told you this is a dental emergency and I need to see someone today? He says okay mam have a good day thanks for being one of "those patients" then hung up on me!! So I then called back and another woman picks up and again I express I have a dental emergency and needed to be seen by someone and she stated that if I had a customer complaint she would handle it. Then hung up. I called back a third time to record the interaction this time and when the same woman picked up I notified her that I was recording the call and needed to speak with someone in regards to making an appointment and finding out the practice hours since google states they are open and so does their phone line. Either way not a good look and I will absolutely be making a report to my dental insurance to have this practice reconsidered on their providers list. Please take note of all the positive reviews as those are absolutely fake and created in a desperate effort to save the reputation that the dentist office clearly keeps proving as absolutely toxic and unprofessional. I moved back to the area and found this dentist. Been 3 times now. Every time the technician (male) has been incredibly rude and condescending. The doctor gives me grief all the time about grinding my teeth in my sleep like I can help it, and finds different things wrong every visit. This time they give me a treatment plan, I notice something was left off the treatment plan so I emailed back. No response for 2 weeks. Requesting dental records for my child. Sent $10.00. Received an Xray and not the full package. Went to BBB and the dentist says they were unsure of my request. The request form says dental records how unclear could this be? Anyways, never received the full package and of course they never returned my $10.00. There is another kids dentist on Ritchie Hwy and it is close enough to avoid going to this place. THE FUCKING WORST SO UNPROFESSIONAL. My first visit was ok but when I came back to get my fill-ins I was in the office for over 2 hours I was numb but never seen. I was told since there were 4 "emergency appointments" that they were being seen first and I HAD TO WAIT. what sense does that make? IF I SCHEDULED A APPOINTMENT I SHOULD BE SEEN FIRST AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT NO DAMN 2 HOURS. I ended up leaving that day and rescheduling. Came back to get the filling done she did a horrible job it felt like she didn't even fill the hole or whatever she had to fill. I still was numb for 2 days after the procedure like wth was that about. They quoted me one price for it and gave me another price the day of the appointment after I rescheduled so they had 2 occasions to tell me about the price adjustment which was a mistake on their end. They didn't compensate or even try to work with me since they are the ones that freaked up. I hate this dentist and I hope IF YOU VALUE YOUR TEETH DO NOT GO HERE. The only thing about this company or location that I liked was that the staff was all Black individuals but as a whole they suck pls don't waste your time. 180$ for 3 fill ins and I only got 2 but still paid 180. First of All, I don't even want to give them 1 star... I wish I had listen to all of the bad reports about this group of "Scammers & Dentist" 1st - if you have any value for time, do not go here, every appointment I ever had was over 25 mins late 2nd - they are running a billing scam to get your money, they will say you need this, and this, and this.... stuff really not needed 3rd - the main dentist charge me for a cleaning and spent less than 10 mins in my mouth saying I needed a deep cleaning and should have my wisdom teeth removed because it causes so many problems later in life "sales person she is, not a caring dentist" 4th - she recommends a dentist in her net work to do my deep scale cleaning... I do the first 1/2 comes back two week later, with the same insurance, and they tell me, I did not list them as my PCP and I am not on their roster and that I need to pay $525 for this procedure and will be billed that for my last procedure, after the admin verified my insurance before the 1st procedure... then on top of that says that Dr. Burns had someone from her office do the work on me last time and that person is not covered by my insurance and SHE REFERRED the person who did the work in her office. THIS PLACE IS POORLY MANAGED AND ARE NOT OUT TO HELP YOU BUT TO SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY. I plan to file a claim against this company in court, but Im actually thinking I going to research all who have had my experience and do a class action suit. read more

Yesterday, I had the worst experience with the most unprofessional, disrespectful MALE RECEPTIONIST in my entire life. I wouldn't even give them one star if I had the choice (same as the other reviewer). I always take my parents here for cleanings and procedures because it was in their network and they like Dr. Burns because she is very nice and always explain everything in full detail to me before every procedure. My parents do not speak English so I do all of the translations. We have been coming here for years and in the beginning it was good, because they did dental work on the weekends and that was very convenient for me. I have to drive all the way from Virginia to take my parents to their appts because that is where I live. They had wonderful receptionists.....until a year or two ago, she hired the male receptionist, who is rude as Fcuk! You can tell he hated his job, he was always short and snapped at you and he always looked miserable at the front desk. So that is why everytime I came there and see a receptionist other than him, I would breathe a sigh of relief because who wants to deal with someone who is freaking rude every damn time?! That should have been my cue that it was time to look for a new dentist for my parents. Anyway, to cut to the chase, I gave the male receptionist my dad's new dental insurance card when he asked me to pay for my dad's copay (from his old insurance). He looked at me, and was like this will take 10 hours to process with the new insurance card and info. I looked at him dumbfounded, because usually when you give your new insurance info, all they have to do is call or pull it up on the system by the patient's social security number. I even told his dumba$$ that. I said, never in my life have I heard it takes 10 hours to process the insurance info. So, he took the card and left it on the desk, making me think he was going to do it right there. So, by that time when he asked for my copay, the appointment was already late, we been waiting an hour. I brought it up to him again that we been waiting a long time, and its over an hour past my dad's appt time. He looked at me and says, I am processing your insurance card like you asked me to, and you will just have to wait. And I said, wait how much longer? I came from VA and traffic is about to hit. I need to get home. He goes, wait however long it takes to get the insurance processed. And I said, so you want me to wait 10 hours here, cause you said it takes 10 hours to process. He goes, "yes. You can't be seen until I get the information." I was speechless. So you dumbFcuk had us waiting for over an hour, when all you had to do was call the insurance company to pull up the info, which takes a minute, and now you are telling us my dad cannot be seen until he gets the info 10 hours later. What kind of business are you running?! I went off on him, telling him he will never have our business again, everytime we come here we are always waiting over an hour, grabbed the card and left with my dad. This morning, I called a new dental practice and had them run his new insurance card, guess what? It took less than a minute for it to come up. I really like Dr. Burns because she has been nothing but kind to us, but if you want to keep running this business, get rid of the dumb piece of sh*t at the front office. I usually don't write reviews but I was so surprised about this place I had to and I want to update to let people know that this place is still what reviews say, I went here for the first time yesterday because I had hmo insurance, like reviews said they didn't start with till about 30 mins after appt, they did a X-Ray and the dentist I had teeth of a 57 yr old?! Keep in mind. I jjst went to a another dentist two months ago without insurance and they had all good reviews, they told me all I needed was a filling!? And I go to the dentist every year my whole life and heard any of the stuff she was saying, This dentist told me just like reviews said. I need a crown for 550$? I need 6 fillings on 6 teeth?! Cause they all have cracks in X-ray and also "bone" talk. Which is my first time hearing and I go the dentist every year and never heard of any of these things, I have my other two kids came here also and really mad that I had them come here cause it's just a set up for everybody, apparently the dentist here is good with kids and cleaning but not anything else and will leave u Pain if u do any type of procedure which is crazy cause she told me I should prob get root canal and wisdom teeth pulled. I read all this I'm the reviews after my appt cause u thought it was kind of fishy and to my surprise I see a a lot of people saying she preferred to get the same thing. 1)they will call u and see what type of ins u have but try to find out what u think u need before they can make stuff up cause they think u r green and gullible 2) "she" will recommend to get a crown. I should've paid attention to the two previous reviews and the reviews on the other pages. I went to Arundel Mills dental group today for a periodontal evaluation. I had explained all this when I called to make the appointment. When I arrived the girl at the desk said you're just here for a cleaning right? I said no I'm here for a periodontal evaluation by a periodontist. That confused them. I made this appointment because I previously visited a periodontist but did not take my insurance so I found that Arundel Mills Dental Grp was in my insurance network. So as I'm waiting for them to tell me what my co-pay will be they want to take me back and get started. I said I don't want to get started until I know what this is going to cost. That seemed to make the man at the front desk mad. He said we can't tell you what it's going to cost ...you'll find out later. I thought what kind of racket is this? He would not call the insurance company he would not find anything out all he wanted to do was huff and puff and tell me that he was not going to tell me how much it cost. So I said I want to cancel my appointment. I said and I would like my paperwork back he would not give it back he put it through the shredder when I asked for my referral back he said he shredded that too and stormed out of the room. I will be reporting these dentists to the board. Sometimes people should realize that other people have jobs too. And maybe they don't know what they do for a living. I'm just saying. Extraction Nightmare!!! Dr. Burns must make her money on bone graphing procedures. I had an extraction done one month ago on a molar and opted not to get the bone graph because I'm not planning to implant a replacement. I developed dry socket even though I followed all recovery rules. She gave me a new antibiotic and new pain medication. It took almost 3 weeks before I could normally. After week 4, I started getting stabbing pains in my tongue and frequent bleeding. I returned to Dr. Burns and she said I have a bone splinter and I should've gotten bone graph. However, that would not prevent the bone splinter. Her only solution was for me to keep my tongue away from my teeth with gauze for 105 days. I called another dentist and they said I should've been referred to a specialist. I believe Dr. Burns has no business doing anything more than simple cleanings. She is a terrible dentist. I will NEVER go back to her office, except to retrieve my Xrays to take them somewhere else. read more

When I moved to the area and needed a new dentist, I checked out this office. They told me I needed a panoramic x-ray, cleaning, and check-up. I got the x-ray, then went back for the cleaning and check-up. After Dr. Burns did the cleaning, she told me I'd need a deep scaling procedure, which would take 2-3 visits to complete. She never even looked at the panoramic x-ray, even though I paid something like $150 for it. I went out and talked with the techs, and they asked about scheduling my scaling appointments. I asked them what it would cost and they said $1200. I told them that was out of the question, and they said "you have insurance, right?" I said I didn't, and they said in that case it would be $600. Sounded like insurance fraud to me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I went to Horizon Dental in the same building. They were much friendlier, honored appointment times, and told me that my gums were fine and didn't need a scaling treatment. I'll never go back to Dr. Burns. Horizon is now my dentist. DO NOT GO HERE. I went in April 2018, had a cleaning and x-rays; everything was fine. I went back 6 months later in September of 2018 for another cleaning and was told that I had 3 cavities and I should not wait very long to have them filled. They didn't even do x-rays during that visit. I received the quote for filling 2 of my 3 cavities and there were 2 charges for desensitizing treatment. When I called to inquire what that was, I was told by the dentist that my cavities are so deep that they both needed desensitizing treatment. She told me that she was looking at my x-rays while we were on the phone. REALLY? My x-rays from April 2018 when I had NO cavities? I didn't receive the quote for my third cavity yet; my other 2 were on the same side of my mouth, one on the top and the other on the bottom so they were going to be filled at the same time. After being told my cavities were so deep that they needed this treatment and she was looking at my x-rays for this information, I sought a second opinion. My new dentist took x-rays and I have NO cavities. Not sure what kind of hustle they are trying to run here but it is extremely disturbing to think that they wanted to fill 3 cavities that I don't have. Not to mention what it would have cost me because my insurance does not cover the whole amount; they don't cover the desensitizing treatment at all. I just received a statement from my dental insurance because this dentist just submitted the claim from my cleaning in September of 2018. I've never received such horrible customer service w/o even stepping into the office! The lack of service is enough for me to avoid this office. Being fair, I understand there was a disconnect between the insurance carrier and office, however, there was absolutely no urgency or any proactive measures taken to resolve this issue. I considered cancelling after all the initial confusion, but decided not to after waiting over a month for this appt. You'd think being contacted a day before your appointment and doing the leg work for the office to receive needed info, there would be the same efforts from the other end. This place is the worst place ever...... I had change jobs and got new dental insurance and this place is in the same area I take my kids so I decided to make an appointment. I told them that I wanted my teeth clean, I go to the back and take the x-rays and then the doctor comes in to tell me she can not clean my teeth at this time because I have several teeth that needs to be pulled. I need to first make an appointment for an oral sergeant then show her proof that I got the appointment and then she can clean my teeth before the pulling. I then left and called back to explain to them that I can not afford to get my teeth pulled at this time I just would like a cleaning and to have my fill-in done so it does not cause anymore problems. The receptionist is going tell me that no I can not have any service done at this office until I have my teeth pull. I then tried to explain to her again that at this time I can not get my teeth pull, I would just like to have my teeth clean and have fill-in done. She continue to say no this is the plan the doctor said works best, I asked to speak to the doctor and now I been waiting for someone to call me back.
