Had a bunch of homeless people on the steps outside you get to step over too. Then they charge you 15 dollars for osha fees I've never paid at any clinic ever - it leads one to think the office isn't doing good as they say they are - they also said that they'd be getting me in by around 3 - it was 320 after I came by fifteen minutes early to do paperwork for my first time with them.

During checkout, we were presented with a treatment plan and told a deposit was required. As I began the process of payment, the staff member noticed that I had an FSA account, and her demeanor immediately changed. We were then told that no deposit was needed, and my husband was quickly scheduled for the next day. I am uncomfortable with policies that seem to shift based on the presence of funds rather than clear, consistent standards. It left me feeling uneasy, however, we both said... let's see. The following day, my husband received an itemized document showing both a "previous balance" and a "current balance". I reached out via email for clarification. Instead of receiving a written response, I was called within minutes and urged to simply submit the document to my FSA. I was told by Alicia Carrasquillo that I had no balance and should "submit it and if it is rejected then they will make adjustments". I pushed back, requesting written confirmation reflecting a zero balance for my records, her tone changed, and I was told that no such documentation would be provided to me. I am not comfortable being pressured into submitting financial documents that do not clearly align with what I am being told. I don't know you, Alicia. Due to your arrogance, I certainly don't trust you. Transparency and documentation are basic expectations when it comes to financial matters. The next day (today), my children's appointments were canceled. We are honesty grateful, as this experience raised significant concerns. As patients, we are growing increasingly weary of poor business practices, upselling, and behavior that lacks transparency. I have avoided the dentist for years due to terrible business practices and lack of integrity. It is disappointing to see that integrity and professionalism are not consistently upheld in such an important field. My first experience was absolutely wonderful, from the lovely staff, the clean state of the art facilities and the exceptional care Dr. Zinger provided; I didn't even know when she administered the Novocain. I really appreciated Dr. Truesdale taking the time to talk to me about my dental issues from a wholistic approach and I even vocalized that to her during my appointment. I scheduled my appointment for fillings and came in for my second appointment for the procedure. My appointment was at 9:40am. I walked in at 9:35 am and filled out my paperwork and was not seen until about 10:20am. I believe my procedure was started around 10:30. The delay was not ideal but I'm generally pretty understanding when it comes to doctor's offices and the domino effect of delays with one patient effecting the rest of the day so I was not too bothered. The procedure itself was brief, which I appreciate because I had to rush back to work afterwards. I then went to the front desk to pay my copay and I requested a quote for a night guard. The woman at the desk notified me that she had "provided me a quote already" and seemed very impatient. She then told me the price and it was out of my budget ($300 out of pocket) so I told her I would hold off for now. She had me pay my copay for the fillings, gave me my receipt, and as I was about to leave she said "oh wait there's an outstanding balance on your account for another $60 for counseling. Since you talked about your TMJ during your last appointment and your insurance doesn't cover counseling." I did not argue, as I was a little shocked and my mouth was still very numb from my procedure. I said nothing and swiped my card. This interaction made me uncomfortable. I was not given a choice as to if I wanted "counseling" or not and I have never had a dentist charge me for this before. I would really appreciate a heads up so I can opt in or out of a service. I have a very tight budget and this extra $60 makes it difficult for me to get gas this week for my car. I then walked out of the office to my car and looked in my mouth. I had metal residue on multiple teeth from the removal of my old fillings. I know this is not technically harmful but I didn't want to swallow that. Taking a few seconds after the procedure to rinse/ brush off my teeth would have really been appreciated. This experience left me feeling rushed out, undervalued, and taken advantage of. Not to mention, I found a new dentist, same insurance and they quoted me only $150 out of pocket for my mouth guard. That's half the price that Innovation Dental quoted me. They also billed codes to my insurance for "oral surgery" when I got my fillings and that is still up for debate on if it was appropriate. I have my insurance company looking into it. I would not go back here. Between the wait times and shady charges, I was left unsettled.

My initial interactions with Dr. Sirius were positive, and I developed a professional relationship with him due to his reputation as a prominent and respected dentist in the field, as well as my status as a police officer. However, I was disappointed to discover that Dr. Sirius informed me that the amount of work I required might exceed my dental coverage, which could result in additional expenses. Despite expressing my concern about surpassing my dental coverage, his team continued to schedule appointments for me to receive treatment, even though it was clear that I had surpassed my limit. This ultimately resulted in my incurring a debt of over $700, which left me feeling disheartened. I believe that Dr. Sirius and his team had the responsibility to inform me clearly and transparently that my upcoming procedure would not be covered by my insurance. As a result, I was left feeling as if I did not matter to the practice, and I now have a new dentist who prioritizes open communication and always informs me if a procedure will be covered by my insurance before treatment. It is essential for dental practices to prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their patients above all else, and I would strongly discourage anyone from seeking treatment with a dental provider who prioritizes insurance coverage over the needs of their patients. I urge patients to verify their coverage with their insurance provider and to be vigilant in advocating for themselves to ensure that they receive the care they need without incurring undue financial burden.
