Let me start off my saying this.....I HATE the dentist. It gives me so much anxiety. Just an all around horrible experience for me. But, of course dentist visits are very necessary, so I am glad I've found Columbia Prime Dental. The staff here are all very nice, they smile when you come into the door. They are helpful and kind, seems like a great place to work. I really like this place. And that says A LOT considering I hate going to the dentist PERIOD. I've had a lot of work over the years so I'm very familiar w/ dentist offices. I think I may have found my forever dentist!!! Always heard terrible stories about dentists which is why I held on to my previous dentist for more than a decade! However, due to insurance change, I was forced to find a new dentist and boy, am I glad I found this one! As you can imagine, I was a little anxious about the change but Dr. Tchakarova was so kind, patient, explained everything thoroughly and shared advice on how I can continue to keep my teeth healthy to avoid issues in the future. She allowed me to ask as many questions without rushing me, the office is clean and her team is just as friendly and awesome. Super easy to reach someone to schedule or reschedule an appointment and everyone is just sooooo sweet and keep a genuine smile n their faces. It feels nice not getting anxious or feeling worried about a dentist visit. I would highly recommend Columbia Prime Dental to anyone. Dr. T is absolutely amazing - and this is coming from someone who has a deathly fear of dentists. I came to Dr. T after recently having graduated from college and avoiding going to the dentist for longer than I care to admit. Naturally I had quite a bit of work that needed to be done and the staff here was incredibly accommodating with regard to scheduling my appointments around my work, reminding me of upcoming appointments, and working with my insurance. The office was incredibly new, clean, and they even turn on whatever you want to watch (on Amazon Prime Video) while Dr. T works on your teeth. After 3 visits over the course of the summer (1 cleaning, 1 crown, and several fillings) I can say that I am completely satisfied with all of Dr. T's work. She was both incredibly professional and compassionate - no lectures about the state of my teeth when I walked in, answered all of my questions, and periodically stopped to make sure that I was comfortable throughout the procedures. Everything about my experience here was just so much better than I anticipated. I would also be remiss to not mention that her assistant Debbie is one of the sweetest humans I have ever met. I will definitely be going back - hopefully next time, just for a routine cleaning! read more

I am considering switching over to PPO because HMO dental officer just doesn't provide the same quality of care and customer service. read more

First-time visit: I made my appointment with the ZocDoc app (so awesome!) and filled out all of my new client paperwork online to save time. I arrived early and was greeted by their lovely front desk attendant, whom promptly presented me with a print out of all of the information I submitted online, sparing me the clipboard and hand cramps. Once my insurance was processed, they took me back early, which was great since I was on my lunch break. My dental hygienist, Tatyana, was very friendly and polite, and performed HANDS DOWN THE BEST TEETH CLEANING OF MY LIFE. Seriously, I know it may seem silly, but she really took her time to make sure she was thorough and was very considerate of my comfort during the process (bonus points). After that, Dr. T came in herself to check the work and informed me of some things I could do to maintain my dental health. I made an appointment to go back next week for a few fillings and for my 6-month check-up. Overall: FANTASTIC service and experience with an extremely friendly and polite staff. Both my 12 year old and my six year old boys have been here numerous times; not just for cleanings, but also had cavities filled, gotten caps put on as well as an extraction. I couldn't say better things about this practice! They're amazing! The dentist as well as the staff are so accommodating, gentle and sensitive to scared children and we truly got the most incredible service! Scheduling was a breeze and we got in quickly every time. I have to agree with all of the other reviewers here. Dr. T and her staff have one of the best dental practices in the state of Maryland, if not THE BEST. It is rare to find a combination of highly-skilled dentistry mixed with a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Dr. T applied braces to my teeth a few months ago. I am a 35+ yo adult female, and I have NEVER been confident enough to get adult braces, but that changed when I found Dr. T and her practice. I am grateful for her talents and her warmth, as well as that of her hygienists Debbie and Anush, and Liz and the other staff at the front desk who are always very professional and friendly. read more

Amazing experience. Not only are the staff kind and welcoming, but the service was FAST! At other offices I'm usually waiting around for 20-30 minutes. Not here! It was MAYBE a 10 minute wait. All of these five star reviews are completely understandable now that I have visited this practice. I was greeted right away by the receptionist and as soon I completed my paper work the extremely kind hygienist took me back right away. I mentioned that I had tooth sensitivity and she immediately tried to get to the root of it. Dr. T. came in almost immediately and introduced herself and also began trying to assess what was wrong. She was so diligent in trying to find the cause and then explained to me the different possible scenarios and courses of treatment. One thing I really appreciated happened during check out. They presented me with an itemized estimate of how much my follow up procedure would cost. I really appreciate that they eliminated the guesswork. Dr. Tchakarova has been my dentist for the last 4 years and I couldn't be happier. There's rarely a wait past your appointment time and the entire staff and office are very friendly and accommodating when it comes to changing appointment times or emergencies. Billing is fair and straightforward - something rarely seen at other dental practices. Dr, T takes her time and you don't feel rushed or pressured into unnecessary dental services. Dr. T. Is one of the best dentists I have used in ages. I'm in my 50's so I have seen my share of dentists. One thing ever one fears is getting an anesthetic. I never felt a thing with her shot, and she knows were to place it so your whole face isn't numb and your drooling all over yourself hours later. I have only been here one time last year but I intend to go back. My husband went there and had a great experience but I am nervous about going to dentists and Dr. Tchakarova put me right at ease. I have not taken proper care of my teeth but she did not make me feel bad in the slightest about my neglect. I had to have a tooth extracted and I must say it was quick and pain free. I have had a tooth removed by another dentist before and I took much longer to heal. Dr. Tchakarova (and the other staff) are all very professional and friendly. I would most definitely recommend Columbia Prime Dental (which BTW, I live in Baltimore so it is a bit of a drive and worth it!) especially if you are nervous around dentists. read more

Not even knowing my son or myself, we had a medical emergency several days ago that NO one was willing to help out with until we contacted Columbia Prime Dental. A dental filling that basically rubbed out after less than 48 hours after being placed. On 2/24/2013 I went to Columbia Prime Dental for a 10 am emergency Dental appt. I was seen by Dr. Lumida H. Tchakarova Everyone in the office was very friendly. The procedure itself was excellent, Absolutely no pain whatsoever. I went in for a tooth which was infact infected. The dentist (dr Tchakarova)removed the old filling said she didn't find any infection and put in a new filling. Less than 30 minutes after leaving the office a large chunk of the filling came out in my mouth. I called and was told to come back in which I immediately did. They looked at it and said the material was still there. However I could feel a large hole in the filling. Dr. Tchakaova put more "material" as she called it in and asked me if I had bit down on anything. I told her no. Which I hadn't But if there was no hole then why would she put more "material in or ask me that. She said not to eat or drink for atleast 30 minutes. I live about 30 minutes away from the office. I went home and about 5 hours later ate dinner. Again I could feel the "material" coming off. The next morning after brushing my teeth even more came off. It has been less than 48 hours and there is a gapping hole in my mouth where most of the filling has melted (for lack of a better word) away. I am in severe pain, can't eat or drink and out 155.00 dollars and now have to pay another dentist to fix what I have already paid for.And when it was time to bill me the first time, she just wrote prices down on a yellow memo pad and charged me. There was no proper Itemized bill or anything given.I am thoroughly disgusted with this to say the least. I refuse to go back to her (Dr Tchakarova) because she was already given 2 chances to put in a proper filling and failed. I have an appointment on monday to see my family dentist and will be able to then give a proper uptate on exactly what was put in my mouth and what effect it caused read more
