The product mix changes frequently, sometimes it's more crafts than antiques and vice versa. The point I want to make is just because you don't like what you see today doesn't mean it will be the same experience in a month. The owner of this shop seems to have a knack for finding some very unusual pieces. We picked up 4 wooden church panels here, they were in an old country church to protect the stained glass windows. They are 8 ft tall, solid wood in a lattice pattern, and it's not every day you can get your hands on old church pieces like this. And that's just one example that comes to mind. I've moved to Vegas and look around me and see no less than 12 items that came from Greenwood Mercantile. When I get back to KC this is a place I stop in as I continue to find some great things here. I know some of the other reviewers have bashed this but there are tons of antique shops that offer pieces as intended but restoring with paint is an art too. And gives it new life for someone that doesn't want the antique look but wants to keep it. I am all for repurposing and preventing things from being dumped. They have an array of decor from old to new. They also have a huge selection of Otis P candles and wax melts. That is what brings me in. The story behind Otis P is a cause I will support. I have found the staff to be very kind. We have been in twice and communicated via FB and all three people were nothing but kind. They are great about posting furniture pieces on FB so it is nice to browse from home. Great place!

Seeing some truly great antique pieces destroyed with paint is always heart breaking. The selection is confusing and not well organized. The owner? employee? that greeted us was a bit pushy and made us feel like we were at a car dealership. Not the store for us.

Always helpful, personable, welcoming. It feels like what Westport is supposed to feel like, IMO. Second, if you have a costume party, you're in luck! They've outfitted me for a disco derby party and a Cirque themed party in the past year or so. Rental prices are fair, and you're sure to get compliments as this is real deal vintage apparel. They also have a thrift store component where you can hunt for vintage finds like button downs, pants, suit jackets and the like. Just a wonderful spot that I hope continues to thrive for years to come.
