I called Tim the owner (who was not present during the install). He indicated he would be there in an hour. It was 4hrs later, he came and said he had to go get some adhesive. Two hours later (8:30) at night glued them back. On the next Monday, (my roof is now 10 days old), there were more tiles off. He said he would be there at 6:00pm. He did not show. On Tuesday I called and he said he would be there between 9:00am and 6:00pm as he would have to fit it in between "training". He was a no show, and no response to texts or calls. I tried to get a hold of him on Wednesday, and finally got him about 4:00pm. He said he was in the hospital since Monday night (when I talked to him Tuesday there was no mention of this). He said he would come by and look at it. He was a no show. Now he doesn't answer my calls or texts. Very unprofessional, poor quality, horrible communicator.

He provided the itemized quote for labor and material among others. He agreed on the requested trim job as well. I inquired who is going to buy material and if its of good quality. Overall, material was included in quote, he showed shared picture of fence options. Quote was invoiced and paid half in advance to work. One Saturday morning, we heard the noises and came to know that his crew is already here to do the job on fence. As I had other engagement on that morning, I was mostly out till the end. Came to know that my sprinkler line is cut during the work, no inquiry about ground situation before beginning of the job . No big deal, I informed the business owner and asked him to keep going. He did fix the line later, I didn't get it checked yet....... The one side of my fence was not leveled by their crew as the corner is little sloppy; although my original wooden fence was leveled to ground. Again no issue, I can live with it. My issue is the really cheap quality of aluminum panels (very light) used in the fence (overall 49 feet linear length), although I inquired in the beginning and paid for at least good quality material (for around $65-70 you can get around 12-15 lb heavy 5-6 feet aluminum and other location during . Not only this, upon requesting him to share the fence material quote for making sure what quality and manufactures of material he used

No communication was had between the owner and the men he sent out!? This crew he sent out had no ladder to get into my attic ( which I suggested they check out) so I pushed my kitchen table under the entrance to my attic so they could get up and through the opening !! As it turns the plumbing vent pipe that this company installed was the reason for the leak between my roof and my interior ceiling. They put caulk round this pipe and told me it was fixed!? I've used University and their subs on two portions of a residential roof - flat and pitched…read moreasphalt. Both were complicated tear offs and replacements. These jobs spanned a course of about 2 years from the time I started talking with them to finishing the job. Jessie also did copper work on a downspout and leaderhead, and added a custom iron cresting. The craftsmanship is excellent. The subs he uses are also high quality (I don't think he really employs laborers himself). The timeline is LONG LONG LONG. It took about 1.5 years to get the flat roof actually done. All the while my house was leaking (he patched it but the patch eventually failed), he had the 50% deposit, and I couldn't seem to get it to move any quicker. I also had to pretty much beg him to get the pitched roof complete when it rained in the room every time it rained outside. The start date was pushed and pushed. One thing to note - they are pretty desperate to get paid. There's no invoice and pay 14 days after, even 5 days after. They want the final check sometimes before the work is even complete. This business is running on literally dime in and dime out. With a surprise on work days ('hey, I'm showing up today!') that can catch people off guard to scramble together $10k or whatever that day. I'm not sure I'd use them again. It was just such a long process. I also like Hulsey Roofing but Hulsey is more expensive.

He proceeded to fight for us with our insurance company to attain money from them amounting to approximately 90% of the cost to replace the roof. This took place over the course of months of time, and he just simply kept pushing. Fast forward, we have a brand new roof that is beautiful, totally sealed, and we even had a little bling (finials) put up there for the neighborhood. People are complimenting it like crazy, and I just keep pinching myself that we were able to get this done without having to pay for most of it. Jessie is absolutely phenomenal to work with, the nicest guy. His team is great. I quite literally cannot say anything negative about University Roofing. I will be referring everyone I know to them. Before Ensurance Exteriors we had another roofing contractor who was confident that will get us a new roof, but then the insurance company came out and found "no damage". Luckily we got Grady's contact on a recommendation and he got the State Farm to agree and replace the whole thing. He was extremely helpful and available 24/7 and went above and beyond to explain the process. He answered all of our questions and was happy to talk us through our options when we felt hopeless. We can't thank Grady enough, since then we referred his company to our family members and friends!

But they couldn't give me a receipt as they were in a "new office". So I had a hand written receipt that i wrote out, as i didn't trust giving cash with a promise of an emailed receipt. The emailed receipt still hadn't arrived by Monday. I asked for a copy of the material order to be emailled. They couldn't provide that and never did. I then tried to cancel everything and he refused to send me a check and wanted to discount his expenses for his time and costs. and have me come to him as he wasn't going to mail it. I felt bullied by him. Not wanting to risk losing my money, I apologized for not trusting him, and we agreed to proceed. Materials were delivered on time. Start date was moved back. Twice. Next start date was set for Columbus day and the only person who showed up was a drone person and he asked if the job was completed to my satisfaction. (There was zero work started and four crates of materials sitting on the sidewalk.) This person was oblivious to his surroundings. Thank God we had Mexicans show up the next day to do the real work. They did most of it but left trash, limbs and 8 inch ruts in the yard where the trailer was. What they didn't leave was about a third of the over bought shingles. Not a single piece was left behind to patch something in the future. They also didn't touch an overhang after one of the crew fell through it. It needed to be replaced. SG asked me if I knew a carpenter who could fix it? Huh? He later wrote me an estimate that involved $600 in shingles. The same shingles that I had already paid for. No thanks. It then took him a week and several excuses before the three bundles of shingles that I had paid for were delivered to me for someone else to repair the overhang. Don't ever pay anyone in cash. Don't ever pay everything until the job is completed. There are companies out there that will do that.
