But the quote came quickly and was quite detailed. It included a good brand of the white EPDM I wanted. It was just as good or better than the quotes from some other bigger players. The price was much better too. So I hoped the no frills meant less overhead. I did check for reviews and they were good. So I decided to go with JM even though it was very hard to find much company presence on the internet. Communicating with Juan via text messages worked very well. I asked to add a plywood cover board and to help me locate the rafters and he was very accommodating. The team came out and Robin was in charge. He spoke English well enough to give me assurances they were going to do what I wanted. The biggest reason for replacing the membrane roof on my flat roof was to ready it for a solar panel installation, which I planned to do myself, if only I could get the 8 panels up on the roof. I'd asked Juan if the team could put the panels on the roof after the job was done. He was agreeable. Robin had the boys do it and did a good job of ensuring no damage to the new membrane by having them put an insulation board under them. Since then I've been up on that roof installing my panels and admiring JM Exteriors Roofing and Siding's work. Thank you so much.

By chance, the electric company stopped by the next day to check my meter, and started banging on my door to ask what in the world was up with my electric meter/box. They said the metal was so bent that even if I had the cover, it wouldn't fit back on. It turns out that anyone walking by who touched it could've gotten an electric shock! The electric company wanted to shut off the power to my entire house immediately - it was that serious - but since it was in the winter they didn't. The electric company was kind enough to wrap a tarp around the box, since any rain or snow getting in could cause extensive damage, including frying my whole electrical panel. It turned out that MightyDog had done extensive electrical work without an electrical permit, and by people who were not licensed to do that work. They had to pay thousands of dollars to an emergency Electrician; I appreciate that they paid it, but that's how bad it was. They also did extensive damage to my mini splits, which they refuse to take responsibility for. I think they did a good job on my roof, but I can't in good conscience recommend this business.

We had several other contractors who told us wehad to replace the entire side of the house, even though it appeared the damagewas in one specific area. Rorrie said they could fix it without having to rip everythingout. We had a few calls before the work was done where he explained everything in greatdetail (and with great patience). The work itself is complete, and the siding looks great. Theypulled back the areas that needed work, replaced the plywood that was rotted,and even helped buttress some of the framing. They then covered everything backup and repainted. At the end, they also walked around the house to point outany potential things to watch out for or that need attention.
