You know the old saying that when looking for a service, you should be looking for price, quality, and speed, but you'll have to choose which two of those qualities are most important to you because one of the three will almost almost be missing. Ascent is the outlier. They were amazing. Their business popped up when I did a ChatGPT search to replace the windshield in my 2020 Toyota RAV4. My windshield is pretty high tech with camera inputs that have to be aligned perfectly so I needed a company with the equipment and skill to get that dialed in perfectly. Ascent was by far the most reasonable on price and had consistently great reviews. I figured that must mean I'd likely have to compromise on speed or quality. Not at all. They had me immediately scheduled for less than a week later and showed up at my door and had the job knocked out in no time. They also found a few drain tubes that were clogged under my cowl and blew those out for me free of charge. Tanner and Kyle are co-owners who are literally third generation windshield installers and have done this since they were young. Instead of continuing to crank out dozens of windshield replacements a day in a shop, they decided they wanted to be able to have more interactions with the customer and have the time to make sure they did the job right. Hearing more about their business I was only more sold on these guys. I personally appreciate and applaud that they've figured out how to create a small business that's efficient and still leaves them time to invest in their families. When I asked if they intended to scale, they emphatically said, "Nope!" They love being able to move at a pace that's sustainable to do the job well and take care of the customers. Recently, I used Ascent auto glass to replace the front windshield in a Ford ranger. I had called around and got the typical horrible service from Safelite, and so was pleasantly surprised when I spoke with the owners of Ascent directly on my first call. Given that there was a recall on multiple Ford models, it didn't appear likely that we would be able to find a windshield potentially for 6 to 9 months, but through multiple calls made on my behalf we were able to find a replacement locally and I had the work done the day after I called at my house. The crew walked me through multiple steps of the process and educated me on items. I honestly had no idea about. Part of their process was running diagnostics on which of the vehicles electronics and allowing me access to this information. What began as a routine repair of a single, small rock chip in our windshield turned into a replacement operation, as the company sent by our auto insurance (someone else besides Ascent - your best guess is probably correct) was unable to effect repair. I decided to follow my instincts and reach out to local, reputable small businesses before simply handing out hundreds of dollars in replacement costs to the insurance company's preferred servicing company. Some of the small businesses I'd relied upon in the past - who always did excellent work - have recently sold/retired after many years of quality service to the community. I saw others' reviews of Ascent here on Yelp, on Google, and in a few other places, and decided to give them a call. I liked what I heard about the brand of glass, the schedule, and the price, and decided to schedule the replacement. What transpired was very educational and informative. I'd always wondered if our previous windshield replacement was done correctly, and the education that Kyle & Tanner provided more than confirmed my suspicions. There were more problems with the previous installation than I can count, and I am quite confident that they have since been fixed. Improper positioning of the old glass, far too much glue, failure to dress & prime the paint surrounding the glass (resulting in unnecessary rusting), and other issues caused/not addressed by the previous installation have all been fixed. The new windshield fits tighter than any previous replacement - it's at least as good as the OEM one, if not better. There is a noticeable improvement in noise reduction and all accessory cables (mirror, dashcam, etc.) fit better than they did - which is to say, they didn't get stuck to the windshield glue, as the previous installer failed to address. Most important of all, though, is how transparent and professional Kyle & Tanner are in all of their dealings. Every aspect of this job, from the moment I first looked at their website, to when I first called, to when I paid for service, was professional and educational. I like to know exactly what I'm getting working on houses, cars, and other large investments, and I now feel much better equipped to deal with any future auto glass replacement I might encounter. We were on a much needed break away from home in Estes Park with our medically fragile daughter. Our modified wheelchair van was parked in the vacation rental's parking lot. There was some wintery weather and the wind was so gusty that it shattered our van's passenger window, right where our daughter sits in her wheelchair in our van. We had to check out of the rental in a couple days & weren't sure if we'd have to drive down the canyon with just cardboard over the broken window, which would be way too cold for our daughter. We had called another well-known auto glass repair service & couldn't get a person on the phone. I tried Ascent Auto Glass, not sure if they'd be able to help us or not. They answered right away and were so wonderful. They ordered the glass, drove up the canyon to replace the window for us, and then even helped and put our cargo box back on top of our van.
