I was so lucky to get in at Asha Wellness on my last trip to PDX. I had strained an adductor muscle pulling hefty luggage, and between the massage I got from Taylor and the treatment I had from Dr. Levy, I felt so much better as soon as the next day. Dr. Levy also did laser therapy on my hands which helped my swollen joints. It was magical! She also recommended some techniques my chiropractor at home could employ to continue my treatment, which was so generous and helpful! Jessica made setting up my appointment so easy, and I felt really well cared for by her and the whole team that I encountered. As a fat person, it can be really anxiety-provoking to go to a new medical establishment, but I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door and chatted with Jessica. I went here for over a year, regularly. I had wonderful experiences with the massage artists and the chiropractors, including Nikki, Megan, and Laura. I stopped going because the office manager Jessica was so much for me to navigate. They were passive aggressive, exuding stress and resentment, and I felt that I was thorn in their side just for existing. I spoke with other friends who go there (3 to be exact) and they all shared with me that they had the same challenges. A lot of people going into Asha are marginalized and are in need of kind, loving, and supportive interactions in healing spaces. I felt demeaned and invalidated by the staff at AshaPDX. Was left with a huge bill because they refused to look into whether my insurance was covered even after I had asked them multiple times about my invoice/bill. Thankfully, I had to foresight to cancel my third appointment or else I'd be looking at a $700 bill! I'm so tired of being disrespected as a POC in Portland. Your business is just another example of this. Stop diminishing the requests of POCs. I'm not loaded and can't afford to pay this huge bill I received because your office failed to communicate to me in a timely manner and do due diligence regarding my insurance coverage. This is a shining example of how people go broke! Also, Dr. May needs to be more respectful about sending lab requests at least a week before a patient's appointment. She literally sent me my lab requests 48 hours before my appointment with her. That's not enough time to get labwork done. When I pointed it out, instead of apologizing, she made up some lame excuse. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend this place especially if you're a person of color. read more

I sought treatment for my persistent L3 through L5 herniated discs, in addition to a more recent upper back strain. I absolutely can not rave about this place enough. I love Asha wellness. The chiropractic providers Dr Megan and Dr Suzy are amazing. As a fat person it's really easy to have my weight the center of conversation in medical spaces instead of the needs of my body and that has never been the case at Asha. I also appreciate their diligence with pronouns and care they take with the queer community. I am currently seeing Seta for massage their hands always find the facia adhesions and knots in my neck and leave me feeling like I'm floating. Jessica, who manages reception, scheduling, and billing is always so kind and considerate and understands how to put patient care as the priority. This came in handy when my insurance changed and I had to start paying out of pocket. I thought I was not going to be able to afford to get chiropractic or acupuncture care, but I can! I have been seeing Dr. Suzi Levy for chiropractic work for 6 months and Camille Hook for massage for about 4 months now. I first started seeing Dr. Suzi after exacerbating an old back injury while weightlifting; I had already seen another chiropractor who was very unhelpful and basically told me I shouldn't be lifting weights. Suzi, on the other hand, has been nothing but supportive and really understands that you can't tell an athlete not to do their sport (if you really want to help them and not just turn them off). She figured out what was wrong and worked with me weekly until I was pain free, and continues to see me for maintenance monthly. Thanks to her, I haven't had any relapses and have improved all of my lifts without feeling like I am going to hurt myself. I started seeing Camille to work on general muscle stiffness and flexibility problems and have seen a big difference in how I feel and perform. I also just plain like everyone there - they are good people, funny, and make you feel like a friend and not just a patient. The clinic takes Kaiser (even my bottom of the barrel plan) and the clinic staff is really helpful and professional as well. If you don't have insurance, they have special rates if you pay for your service the day of your appointment. I couldn't recommend Asha more! If you are an athlete, you'll feel right at home, and if not, you'll still be glad you made the appointment. read more

Acupuncture at Asha Integrative Wellness TOSHIO!! He is wonderful. As a healthcare practitioner myself, I appreciate his calm, down to earth and caring demeanor. He truly listens and tailors your care to your unique needs. And his treatments are awesome! I love his cupping style. What I really like about him is that he is non-intimidating, in that he has real conversations with you. Some medical providers can be so stale and professional that you feel like you are a hinderance to them and just another body. Toshio is fun to talk with and he is genuine, which I appreciate. I truly feel that 90% of effective healthcare and bodywork is about the interaction between you and the provider. If it is comforting and personalized you are more likely to see the positive benefits. Sadly, this is a lost art in most fields, but Toshio has managed to hone this skill perfectly. For those of you worried about pain associated with the needles, don't be. While my experience with acupuncture is limited, Toshio's placements have been nearly painless 99.9% of the time and in some cases, it feels good. And once they are set, you should not feel them at all. The other two practitioners that I have seen did not have quite the same skill. I'm not sure what he does differently, but whatever it is, it works! Other pluses: Online scheduling Late(ish) hours (different than those listed on Yelp) Weekend hours (LOVE THIS) Cool music Wide variety of treatment options/skills Parking lot on site (for those it matters to) He begins your session with muscle work to your neck (with me anyhow, and it's heavenly) I'm sure that there is more Toshio is the third LAc that I have seen over the past few years and while the other two (females) were excellent, Toshio has a uniqueness about him that will definitely keep me coming back to just him. Honestly it hurts me giving this business two stars... the doctors and LMTs are amazing. Toshio is the best at acupuncture of anyone in the greater Portland area. All the practitioners who work at Asha are... hands down amazing. That being said, the office manager Jessica is an absolute troll to deal with. I'll just go somewhere else after how she treated me. I was on the phone making an appointment with her, my toddler screams in the background. Jessica made me feel like I personally was trying to make her day hard. She said "oh there's so much background noise" like she didn't know the sound of a screaming toddler in year two of a pandemic. It was passive aggressive and so Incredibly rude. When I was in the office later for my appointment. I tried to let her know about the phone conversation and she kind of just rushed me out to shut me up. I actually was trying to explain to her that she hurt my feelings the way she handled it and honestly she didn't seem to care. Part of my aging experience has included feet problems, first Plantar fasciitis, a disorder causing pain in the heel and discomfort walking. I found changing to flat, barefoot style footwear a huge improvement and my body repaired it's self. Unfortunately, I also developed Hallux limitus, a rigid big toe making it challenging to perform functions which require bending the toe. I had lost significant mobility in my left toe and my right toe was starting to follow. I was walking with a limp. Feet are connected to the leg, knee and hip bones - oh yeah. There were some exercises I could no longer do in aerobics. What could I do about this condition - I didn't find many answers and was resigning myself to living with some limited mobility. Then I was introduced to Christy Yogerst, DC at Asha Integrative Wellness. In the initial visit I experienced marked improvement and in four visits, the adjustments to my both toes and feet where amazing, I got mobility back! YEAH! This is my second set of problems that I've turned to Asha Integrative Wellness for. The first time was when my collarbone was jacked up from carrying around a newborn and getting no exercise. What I loved about Asha's practice is that I had a team of an LMT (who has since moved), Acupuncturist (Toshio), and Chiropractor (Dr. Suzy Levy). The three of them worked together with me to figure out the best way to treat my condition, and sure enough, it worked. This time around, I'm here again for back pain associated with hip arthritis and abdominal surgeries. Dr. Suzy and LMT Vanessa have been nothing short of miracle workers, and within 2-3 weeks I've gone from a 9 on a pain scale of 10, to being able to comfortably walk without a limp and sleep an entire night through. I have been going to Jarrod for massage therapy for about a year and he is wonderful. Each time he checks in with me about how I am feeling that day and adjusts the massage accordingly. Dr. Levy and her staff are so great that I make it part of my annual vacation to Portland. She does soft tissue work which makes her adjustments much more effective. She has a wide area of expertise and has helped immensely when I've been recovering from shoulder injuries. Her sense of humor helps too since laughter is the best medicine. I've been going to Asha for almost 9 months and deciding to go here was the best decision I've made. I see Dr. Suzi Levy and she is a rock star. I have some complicated health problems related to my back and knees (thank you figure skating), and Suzi is the first person I've seen in the past 8 years who hasn't said that my problems are in my head. She figured out what's wrong and she has been working with me on ways to help resolve all of my issues. She listens to what I have to say and doesn't think I'm crazy. Everything she says makes sense. She truly knows what she's talking about and what she's doing. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease, and is also a fun person in general to talk to. I highly recommend her if you need a chiropractor. She takes a lot of insurance (including Kaiser), and if she doesn't take your insurance or if you don't have any, she can work with you to figure out how you can afford treatments. There are a lot of different appointment times and the location is great. The office staff is also super friendly and I love talking with them. read more

I was visiting Portland from Chicago when I dislocated a rib by carrying a heavy travel bag. Dr. Suzi was the only chiropractor on my extensive search (lots of healers in Portland!) who was willing to make time for me in her busy schedule that same day. This was especially incredible because (I forgot to mention) I was sleeping on the floor!! Also had lots of hikes planned with family over the weekend and didn't want to ruin everyone's good time with an inconvenient appointment... if this wasn't gracious enough already, Dr. Suzi was also willing to take me on a financial hardship appointment, waving the full examination & associated costs, per my request, since I would not be returning for regular care. What a life saver! I wish I *could* return for regular care; Everyone in the office was helpful and friendly. Dr Suzi resolved my acute pain in one short visit!
