It was very hard finding this place. However the receptionist understood this and took her time to help me over the phone to find the parking lot. I got a prenatal massage... and it was ok. I'm not too picky with my massages, so if you are I'm not sure you'll enjoy it. There was a lot of conversation and... it did really "hit the spot". At first I thought it was because I'm pregnant that the masseuse didn't want to massage more firmly but I got another ones elsewhere that was more satisfying. My massage was as fully body as it can get while your pregnant BUT... the timing was a bit off- One side definitely got more attention and the hands, arms, legs and head didn't get much action. The faculties was nice. But I ended up going elsewhere for the rest of my prenatal massages, which I guess answer the questions of If i enjoyed the place. On a side note: I got incredibly sick after this massage, almost immediately. I hadn't gone out in the last two week prior so this would be the only place I could've caught something. read more

Shady business practices, ignorant white fragility exhibited by practitioner...I was an incredibly loyal client of Luna Wellness for several years but unfortunately, after the last couple of incidents, I will absolutely never return nor will I ever recommend this company to any of my friends, colleagues or BIPOC counterparts in the community...I recently had to cancel a chiropractic appointment that I had scheduled due to the fact that I woke up early in the morning feeling incredibly ill. While I would have loved to come in and receive treatment by Dr. Megan (who truly is exceptional), I did not want to be selfish by risking the health of both practitioners and clients (mainly pregnant women) alike. Thus, I cancelled at 5 AM, almost 12 hours prior to my appointment that evening. Out of respect I notified the clinic first thing when I knew I was unwell. The receptionist told me that that was totally okay, and that was that - please note that not only have I never cancelled, and I have *always* been punctual and respectful of providers' time...I was disgusted to see that that same evening, I was hit with a major fee for canceling. Upon confronting the receptionist, she stated that it was the policy and that they even did me a favor by applying a PoC discount to the charge - so performative and in poor taste. I also find it incredibly shady that I was not notified first thing in the morning that I would be charged when I had told her that I was canceling. I guarantee that they were hoping to get away with it without me noticing. By the way, if I was a repeat offender or had cancelled for any other reason than being violently ill, I of course would have respected the policy and understood it...but ONE cancel due to being ILL as a LOYAL client? I have given so much money to this company throughout the years, and they have also reaped the benefits of thousands of dollars from my insurance company due to a car accident that I had recently had.... this was the first incident after benefits were withheld and truly goes to show how Luna treats their clients once they know they have little to gain from them financially. This incident was incredibly disheartening and hurtful as a loyal customer of several years who has sent many people their way and has also protected their organization after a prior incident...A white massage therapist, Jeanine, only weeks prior had made ignorant comments to me during a massage regarding women in domestically abusive relationships, stating that she has difficulty empathizing with them as they choose to remain in those circumstances. I literally could not believe the ignorant and abhorrent statements being made. She then proceeded to make disgusting statements by making generalizations about the Middle East (where I am from)... When I confronted her about these harmful comments during such a tragic time, she not only denied stating them (so gaslighting- I know what I heard; it was so upsetting I ran out that day), she legitimately dug her heels in by acting like a fragile white woman who knows more than an Arab herself. I like to think that we all make mistakes and it's all about how we come back from them - however, Luna never made the effort to call me after the charge and make things right with a loyal customer of many years, nor did Luna ever hold that practitioner accountable as the promised "meeting" that was to be had never occurred. Truly upsetting but grateful to know who these people truly are ... out of respect for the previous owners, David & Becky, please note that none of these incidents occurred under their management. read more

They worked me in for a 30 minute prenatal prenatal massage the day before I had to leave back to Texas. I wanted more but was glad they could accommodate me. The massage was perfect. Comfy room, comfy pregnancy pillow so I could lay on my stomach, very soft sheets and soothing music and the table was warmed. I didn't want to leave. The pressure was just perfect and I would highly recommend this place. It's a little pricy, but seems most things are in Portland. I wish all places were this good! Such a wonderful experience. Came here after searching EVERYWHERE for a prenatal massage. They did not disappoint! My massage therapist was Kelly and was so comforting and adaptive to my needs. They offer so many options for add ons on top of comfort level. They have awesome memberships that I would love to take advantage of once baby comes. My only wish is that they would take insurance for chiropractic and acupuncture but I totally understand their motives. The actual location is cute and relaxing! I have had two excellent interactions with Luna Wellness. The first was when I scheduled a prenatal massage for 3 days after my due date. I was eager to get in with a special by the end of October and they helped me find a day (and did the whole thing over text!) and then when I had to cancel because the baby came on time they were totally cool. I made an appointment recently for a massage with child care. I was nervous about leaving my 4 month old with a stranger but it was comforting to know she was right down the hall, in very capable hands, and they could easily come get me if need be. It really helped me to be able to relax, unlike the other time I got a massage (somewhere else) where I was constantly fearful I would miss a call/text from my husband asking me to come home right away. On top of all that, the massage was excellent. I told the MT that I was mostly looking for relaxation since my aches and pains were under control at the moment and she really delivered. She got areas of my body that haven't been attended to...ever? And all in a 60 minute session. The music was calming, the space was comfortable, and it's conveniently located. Totally worth the price. I'll be back! Tiny downside: the location with childcare is on the second floor and there's no elevator, so strollers don't work but they warn you of this on their site. I was able to baby wear my daughter up the one flight of stairs. Keep this in mind if it might be a barrier for you, but call if you have questions because I'm pretty sure they're willing to help people out within reason. read more

No problem. 5 minutes late because you have a 2 month old who has to eat every single time it's time to leave the house? Non-issue. I found Luna Wellness late into my fourth pregnancy, and like many others have probably said I wish I had found them sooner! But I'm so thankful to have had them available during my third trimester and now postpartum. All of their practitioners are fantastic. I've seen them regularly for chiropractic care, community acupuncture, and massage. They've also helped my colicky baby turn a corner through gentle chiropractic treatment. Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful and I look forward to my visits so much. I had my fastest, easiest labor this time around and I think I really benefitted from their expert prenatal chiropractic care and acupuncture. This is an excellent practice for women attempting VBACs! I wish they accepted insurance, but they are super helpful in providing everything I need to file with mine. But they make up for it with excellent (FREE!) childcare - I trust Gaia with all four of my kids, even my newborn, and they genuinely enjoy "going to Gaia's," as they call it. When you fold childcare into their out-of-pocket prices, it's so worth it. I drive all the way from SW Portland to come here, and will continue to do so because they are so fantastic (and seriously - free childcare!). I have been seeing Dr. Jessi for prenatal chiropractic care, and it's been terrific. Through gentle adjustments and a few exercises, my pain is gone. She listens well, keeps me safe and supported, and has great "bedside" manner. The clinic itself is also great. My nine-year old son is very timid and scared about going to any kind of healthcare provider. He often has major panic attacks at the very mention of going to a doctor, dentist or naturopath. He is a very "heady" kid who worries about all of the potential things that could happen, or that the doctor might find. This has made it very difficult to take him for check-ups and we have to be very thoughtful about when and who we schedule visits with. The only doctor that my son has actually ASKED to see is Dr. Becky. She is so gentle and kind with him on the table that he leaves telling me how good it felt to see her.
