She can do natural hair, curly hair, braids, sew ins, etc. Shauna recently became certified and trained to do eyelash extensions in her shop. She recived quite a bit of damage during Hurricane Harvey, so she recently opened a new shop location which is bigger and better than the previous one. Her personality is so welcoming and inviting. I was frustrated with my hair and Heather had convinced me during my haircut appointment that a Brazilian Blowout would alleviate my hair frustrations. So, the next week I went back for the Brazilian Blowout. This proved the haircut was not good. My ends were ragged and looked completely uncut. The layers were just chunks and there were some sections that had hair 2, 3, even 4 inches different in one section. I called to see what could be done and made another appointment to go back under the impression that anyone else would be addressing my concerns. No, the appointment was made for Heather to cut my hair again. I canceled my appointment and left. After seeking recommendations for another stylist, I went to someone else who confirmed that the cut was very bad. He also told me that my hair, because it is thin, makes me not a good candidate for a Brazilian Blowout. This salon is no longer on Sawdust, it is now in the Marriott Waterway. I'm sure there are qualified stylist there, but Heather is not one of them. I also didn't appreciate that the owner, when confronted with my issue, didn't seek to correct the problem himself or even select a better stylist to correct my really bad cut.

So, after a few calls that went to voicemail even though it was during the posted hours of operation, the phone was answered by Meagan, who I had apparently woken up at 10 a.m. First of all, I was a bit confused as to whether I was even calling a business, as she did not identify it until I asked. Then when I told her I had a groupon, she said that she had asked them to pull the offer "months ago," and "didn't know why they still had it up." Then she told me that the offer was only for a certain type of extensions that I had never even heard of. I told her I have my own tape-in extensions, and she quoted me a price that was 60% higher than the groupon I purchased. The price she quoted just happened to be the same as the original price of the groupon before the discount ($250). When I told her that price was 50% higher than I normally pay, she told me GROUPON would refund the amount I paid. That's all fine, except for the time and hassle I have to spend getting a refund instead of just honoring the coupon that is your responsibility to follow up on and make sure that it is pulled instead of leaving the hassle for unwitting potential clients. So now I am back to square one looking for a professional stylist to establish a long-lasting business relationship with, and sadly, I do not think that will happen with this stylist. There are so many places in Houston and so many ways to promote your business. I realize that GROUPON probably takes a cut, and maybe she didn't know what she was signing up for, but I know that a professional who is in a service industry and values customer service and satisfaction would not conduct business in this manner. The pedicure was really out of this world. My hands and feet feel so smooth! My best friend's husband got us a gift card to take care of the appointment. When I got to the counter, we didn't have enough on the gift card. I believe he was misquoted on the service's prices but there was also a "service charge" tacked on that we were unaware of. I proceeded to take care of it but was slightly annoyed that we experienced the same thing in the Spa. The SPA and SALON should be transparent about all of their charges if there are giftcards included. Please don't just list the service and catch your guests off guard at the register. It dampens the whole experience. The parking validation was the same. We ended up paying something extra even after it was validated. Also, this "service charge" only pays 16% to the service tip so it wasn't even going directly to the nail technicians.
