I have a philosophy with salons, usually I end up much more satisfied when i give my stylist ground rules, "want it to look full bodied, and not too trendy" but generally leave it open to them with what to do. In the past this has been very successful, especially with straight men. Not so much here. In fact I feel despite the claims Phillip makes to listen, consider face shape and combination of experience, he failed miserably. I feel my problem would have been a common one, all i wanted to know is if i did what ever he wanted to do to "fix" my color, would i have to do it again in 6 weeks or would it blend with my natural color as I let my hair grow out. I got a lecture instead of an answer about how hair grows etc.. i don't know if he thought I was really that big of an idiot or if he just isn't a communicator, but he was not able to explain clearly enough to me how he wanted to fix a color problem, which is supposed to be his specialty, he said something about why did i come there if I was afraid of color....i don't know but i thought that was why i WAS there, but he should be able to explain to me what he wants to do before he does it. I didn't get the worst cut ever, but i think i did get the worst one for my face shape. The way my overly honest mother put it, he managed to accentuate all your flaws. gee thanks.

Got a consultation for a curly cut and color and she was kind and efficient and working with me into what could work for my hair and my color goals. She explained completely what she was going to do and gave me a budget on how much it would be. I paid my deposit and set up the appointment for the "procedure" . During my service she and the rest of the team were super friendly and fun you can tell they're very knowledgeable about their craft and work together as a team. I enjoyed the whole process of my color and cut; Khaliyah was so patient with me while I was trying to makeup my mind about what I wanted, I'm glad I listened to her advice because we ended up with a beautiful healthy gorgeous hair. She began to yell at me telling me that the person that came at 12 had Somewhere to be. I told her that I did as well as it was my bday wknd and I was headed out of town. I chose Michaelyndon because I love having my makeup done by Donna Abate, and I learned this was where she was currently working. I scheduled a facial + derma blade. The facial was great, but when she did the derma blade, she scraped into my hairline, essentially shaving the whole front of the hairline. I discovered this when my friend's 4 year old daughter kissed my forehead a couple weeks later and said it "cut her". The grow-out process has been a nightmare. I was already struggling with all of my hair being super short due to the last stylist. Now I am dealing with my hairline being an inch long, which is an absolute nightmare when you have fine, curly, frizzy hair. There is nothing I can do to keep it smooth. I hate leaving negative reviews but this few seconds of carelessness has led to daily frustration that I did not need. I was already struggling with my self-esteem and this was unnecessary. In addition, she asked if I had been going to (my former esthetician) previously. Apparently they had spoken about me before I came in. I don't know how they got to talking about me. I don't know if they were talking about their new clients or what. It was very weird to me and now I'm afraid to get a facial in Houston. ( I knew it would eventually ) I just couldn't take it anymore and had Arlette cut it all off. She was awesome! Keeping up a steady flow of conversation and cutting my hair in 3 stages to help with the shock of seeing it all hit the floor. Not only that- we shared a hometown. We are both from Seattle.
