I purchased a tv stand and a part was broken, I called and requested a replacement part in which I was promised it would arrive in 7-10 days. Fast forward a month later, numerous calls and nothing but lies, they now say it will be ANOTHER month before the part will come. I purchased Furniture along with a coffee table and end table in store. Upon delivery of the couch, chair and end tables I noticed that the end tables were not what I ordered and asked the delivery men to return them I was told I would be credited for the end tables and also the coffee table. The credited the coffee table but not the end tables. I paid my balance in full and was told that I would get the credit and now after speaking with Synchrony bank several times and disputing this amount along with people in store they still have not credited me back and are now hitting my credit score. I have disputed this amount with Experian and all others and still have not been credited. I will never shop here again and have told all of my friends as well. read more

My new husband and I bought a dining room table from Ashley and after driving to Salt Lake to pick it up from the warehouse because it would have cost us an extra $100+ dollars to have it sent to the store in Layton, we unpackaged it to find that multiple parts of the table were damaged. We called customer service right away and after being on hold for over an hour we finally got through to someone who said they would send out replacement parts, which we were super stoked Flash forward to a week later we haven't heard anything so we call back, the agent we speak to says she can't see any replacement orders so she'll email corporate to see if she can get any information and then tells us that it could take up to 6 weeks to get the replacement parts, which would put us at week 8 of dealing with this. Smh. Safe to say we will never buy from Ashely again. Spend your money elsewhere where you can get same or better quality products/customer service for less money. read more

To be fair, they have a lot of nice options. Unfortunately everything is marked up about 400% over actual cost. Here's why: There are normally about 5-10 customers in the store during normal hours. There are about 10-15 sales people in the store at any given time. All those people are on the clock. Of the 15, less than 5 are actually with customers. So they are standing around stalking customers and offering unsolicited information about fake sales. Do yourself a favor and shop on KSL for furniture in this area. read more

Ashley sold these couches to my elderly mother as "real leather" just over 5 years ago. She paid over $5,000 for the sofa and love seat. These are not leather but most likely a crappy bonded leather. When she contacted Ashley for support, they said this a known issue and quit using this material and would not provide any additional help. She even had the 5 year warranty but it was 3 months expired. Ashley Furniture is a pure ripoff who preys on the elderly and refuses to stand behind their products. read more

This was my first experience at Ashley furniture and it was amazing! We went to RC Willey right before and got depressed because the prices were outrageous and the sales staff was just obnoxious. When we got to Ashley furniture the door greeter was very polite and explained that the staff is non commission and to flag one down if we need any help. We found a VERY high quality bed and mattress that we absolutely loved and we could actually afford it (the same quality beds at RC Willey were twice the price) in fact the bed we bought was even nicer than what we had seen anywhere else. Buyer beware! I bought some chairs from the Ashley HomeStore in Layton. Ten days later the chairs went on sale for about $50 apiece less than I paid. The website says if you buy something from them and it goes on sale within 30 days, Ashley will refund the difference. It does, however, say that the policy applies to online purchases and if you bought something in a store, you need to call the store directly for their policy. I called and was told the policy applied to the website only and not to items bought in the Layton store. I contacted customer service through the website and was told that each Ashley store is independently owned and operated, and honoring the 30 day price match guarantee was up to each individual store. I guess the Layton group doesn't feel the need to take care of their customers. I'll never buy anything there again. read more

Bought a couch in February. Was told it would arrive in 2 weeks. Even had them check the inventory in their system, was just missing one piece. 4 months... still no couch! No one has EVER bothered to call me. Every month I call and they say it's back ordered and may be ready in another month. Called the store, they were rude and basically told me too bad, I'm 10th on the list. Called customer service and explained communication goes a long way. A phone call, an email, a letter, even a text notification would have been respectful customer service. I still have no idea when or if I will ever get it. Hoping for Xmas at this point! I went twice the past few months. The first time was to browse for couches with no intention of buying the same day, I just wanted to quickly browse and spent under 10minutes walking around and looking at a few selections and prices. I was followed the entire time! It was very uncomfortable, I told my husband afterwards that it felt like I was being watched to make sure I don't steal a couch in my tiny wallet. They followed me from room to room and watched me. Two times in the same 10 minute visit I had to tell them no thanks I don't need help, I'm just looking. So desperate for a sale! There weren't any other customers both times I went. The second time I came in, I was again greeted at the door asked if I needed help which I did this time. I had their flyer and intentions to buy a couch but they didn't have it in stock. I wish they did because I like to comfort test before buying. The sales rep was helpful and very professional. I'm going to another location to see if they have the advertised couch in store. I wish they made themselves available if help is needed, but didn't harass customers. read more

We've currently been waiting on our bedroom set and entertainment center since October 2020. When the purchase was made we were told we would have the items by Christmas. I've called every month since and have been given a new estimated date every time that they assured me was accurate, and that it might even come in sooner. We paid in full at the time of order, yet here we are still waiting, I called today and was told there are still 6 orders ahead of me ( which is more than they told me the last time I called) and now my order won't be filled until the first week of March. Delivery date mix up, meaningless text messages, ornery delivery coordinators, helpless chat agents who end up disconnecting without any resolution, no call back after disconnection, no response when a call back is requested, impossibility to get a real person on the phone, pre-recorded excuses blaming Covid even though though we've lived in a Covid world for over a year now. Am I ever going to get the back-ordered portion of our order? And are they going to fix the scuff on the furniture that happened on the first portion of delivery? These people are pathetic. If I had known it was going to be like this, we would have shopped elsewhere, I'll refrain from mentioning the competition's name as I don't want anyone to think this review was driven by them. purchased a set of pier cabinets and a bridge to go over our tv, and a tv stand for our family room, when the delivery arrived, the guy spoke poor English, brought in the tv stand, and than the boxes for the cabinets, said he needed a signature, I told him I paid $300 to have it assembled, he said they ripped you off, they don't assemble the expensive wood cabinets, they left and took all the parts to our tv stand, tomorrow I am going to Ashley for my parts and to close my account, I will find another furniture store to furnish the rest of the house read more

Purchased a bedroom set for my daughter here. They came and set it up a couple days later and left the room very clean. The only problem was one of the drawers was cracked and damaged and they left it there. I only realized this when I went to fill it with my daughter's clothes. I called the store and they had a technician come out the following week. He ordered a new drawer for me and had it mailed to my home. Not having to worry about sending the other drawer back was an added plus. The customer service from the tech that came out was fabulous. He was friendly and efficient. the only reason I didn't get 5 stars was because of the guys who delivered and installed. We were so disappointed with the customer service we received in the Layton store. We purchased several items in November that were just delivered. After having the couch for a week, we tried calling them to see if there was any possibility to exchange for another couch that was of equal or greater value. We felt we did due diligence at the store to test out the comfortablity, however when we got it, it was horribly uncomfortable. Not just in a "needs to be broken in" sort of way. The headrest is so big you are looking downwards while you sit and the bucket seats are very deep. After calling a few times and getting redirected back to the out of state customer service line we just went into the store. They didn't give it any thought and just flat out said no! We have spent so much money over the last ten years at this store and will never go back. It's disappointing because we have been loyal to them for so long, we never price shopped, we just trusted they would take care of us. We immediately went to RC Wiley and they have a 14 day return or exchange policy even through covid. All our future business will be going to RC Wiley and we plan to share this experience with everyone we know. read more

We went in looking to add pieces to the Galveston set we have and walked the entire sales floor before we found the large touch screen computer to shop on. Once Cinnamon approached us and offered assistance the buying experience turned very positive. I had looked online before hand so u knew what I wanted, I just wanted to see it in person. Unfortunately they didn't have those pieces on the sales floor to look at, but we got them anyway. She was able to honor the online price and get everything ordered. Wanted a 12 inch mattress and told the manager that and she insisted i try the 14 inch as it was more comfortable.So i tried both and said i would still like the 12. Both times the product that was delivered were not at the perceived quality in the showroom. AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A NIGHTMARE!! I truly believe Ashley's strategy is to make an exchange or complaint about your delivered product so incredibly difficult that you just give up. Which I have. With this last purchase, 5 weeks has gone by, I have spoken to 4 different people including the store manager, and nothing has been resolved. They don't even have the courtesy to tell me that they are NOT going to help me. They just keep giving me the run around. So, you win Ashley. I give up. Do not even go into this store! I wish I had read reviews prior to going into the Layton store..but didnt..1st mistake ..when we got there...2nd mistake...we were met by Heather quickly but told her we just wanted to look around at dining sets on our own...when we found one we liked it was being looked at by another family with a salesman...we asked a couple of questions of him..price... because they had 40 percent off of 1499.00 and he gave us a price....then he left with the other family..then i contacted Heather...3rd mistake...she gave us her price which now was about 350.00 more and she explained they take 40 percent off each piece price instead of group price...on the back of sale placard..not on sale price...and the salesman didnt know because he was a"newbie" ...therefore not truly 40 percent off...after dickering with her we settled on a price...this set had a bench and 3 barstools..it was sitting on a nice rug..which we also wanted..due to the size of our space we werent sure if we wanted 1 or 2 benches...we decided on 2.....I asked if they were assembled and she said only if they delivered or I picked it up in SLC...I chose to pick up...I work by the warehouse..after 1 and 1/2 hours of her trying to get an invoice...on 2 different computers, and help from 2 others,we were done, Then we find out she has only worked there for 1 month..hhmmm a "newbie". I picked it up in 4 boxes and a rolled up rug..."no they never assemble at the warehouse" is what I was told..3 1/2 hours later I had it put together...the set was much narrower than our last set so we had more room than thought..so we wanted to exchange the 2nd bench for 2 chairs...and wanted a bigger rug after setup..more profit for them.. so I contacted the GM Neil after getting nowhere with the office manager..he said they do not do exchanges or returns..only if after the delivery guys set it up and at that moment you could do either. But in his words " you own it after they leave"...no returns or no exchanges? They also wouldnt take the rug and exchange it...it is very poor quality and fraying at the end...oh he said he would send a technician to look at it in a few weeks...I couldnt bring it to him because he is not a technician and couldnt tell if I damaged it or it was quality of the rug,, What reputable furniture store has that policy..he told me I should have measured my space before arriving..I was livid...and after many choice words and probably insults, about his saleswoman..their shitty policies,and his inability to train his employees to tell people about their no return, no exchange policy, I hung up on him, all he could say was he sorry I felt this way.
