Neil & Fiona of MXBloom were our power couple duo that provided both photography & videography services. Back in fall of 2022, they did our engagement shoot. We originally weren't that interested in doing one, but that was one of the best decisions because it allowed us to interact with Fiona (& Neil) before our big day. She directed us, captured our moments beautifully, and was so fun to work with. On our big day, Neil & Fiona were a rockstar team! They were professional, polite, AND also so much fun to have around! What I found particularly striking was their ability to capture the candid and posed moments throughout the day, without us feeling like we had to break from "being in the moment" (if that makes sense.) You could tell throughout the entire time, they were both "on" and trying to identify all the amazing, key moments to photograph/video. There were several times we had to shift our timeline during the wedding, and they were both very responsive and accommodating to those changes. They worked so well with our DJ/MC Alan (which by the way, is such an important aspect - vendors being able to work together like one team.) Their service and value provided was worth every cent. And given our wedding was a blending of our Asian (Chinese/Vietnamese) heritage and Western upbringing, we felt Fiona & Neil were the PERFECT people to document our big day. It was also such a touching moment seeing how my parents, who speak Chinese Mandarin, were able to make conversation with Neil & Fiona. Oh, one other mind-blowing fact. Fiona was about 7.5 months pregnant when she was working on our wedding day. Yet, the way she carried herself and energy she brought, you couldn't tell she was pregnant at all! A superwoman! If you're planning on having a wedding (or any other life milestones). If you're planning on finding ONE company that does both photography & videography (which I highly recommend). If you're planning on having a highly talented, professional team document your big day - hire MXBloom. Also, if you're planning on having an Asian/Asian-leaning wedding, Neil & Fiona are the choice for you. We were referred to Jenn Tai by our wedding planners. We spent $4,410 for 6 hours of wedding day…read morecoverage with 1 photographer. Our photographer was Kelly Bowie. From the moment Kelly arrived at our wedding it felt like amateur hour. Even though we met with her in advance of our wedding and sent all the details in writing, she "forgot" pretty much everything we discussed. For example, Kelly forgot to bring the list of family groupings for the family photos. Kelly also forgot that we needed seating for disability accommodations during the family photos and chose a location that required our elderly and disabled guests to walk down a hill and then stand outside in the August heat for almost an hour with no place to sit. Additionally, during the ceremony Kelly's presence was very distracting. We were in a small greenhouse with multiple entrances where she could have easily walked around the guests to get from one point to another but instead she walked down the aisle and in front of our guests multiple times during the ceremony. If it's possible, when we received the photos we were even more disappointed in Jenn Tai Photography. There was a real lack of attention to detail that was visible in the photos and that you expect a professional photographer to be aware of. For example, in several of the photos you can see phones visible in pockets, hand sanitizer clipped to belts, etc. Also, some of the key photos were overexposed and as a result faces or images were so light that detail was lost. We brought a lot of these issues to the attention of the company owner, Jenn, who did her best to address our concerns during post-production editing. Jenn's customer service was great and we know that she worked hard to try to correct the issues. Thank you, Jenn, for doing your best to fix our photos. Overall, we're still not happy with most of our wedding photos, but thanks primarily to Jenn's post-production work we have a small percentage of wedding photos that we love and will cherish.

We interviewed a handful and felt an instant connection. Not only is she super professional and great at what she does, she makes being photographed fun and easy! She photographed both our engagement photos and our wedding. For our engagement photos she made both of us feel super comfortable not only in front of the camera, but also packing on the PDA at Sculpture Park lol. The photos were fantastic and really did capture who we are as a couple! Fast forward to our wedding. She was super organized, able to keep our family in line (it can be like herding cats) but most importantly, she was super inclusive to all of our family and friends. Our photos are beautiful and candid. Looking at them makes you feel like you were there on the day. We will recommend Jenn to all our friends and family and continue to use her as our family grows! They are incredibly friendly but also professional. I think the best part about Jeff and Amanda is that their positive energy is infectious - you can't help but smile when you're around them. This made us much more relaxed during our photo sessions - and it shows in the photos. We did an engagement session before the wedding and we're so glad we did it (I also highly recommend that couples do this so there's less stress on the wedding day). We started the session feeling a bit awkward (posing is hard) but ended up having a blast. The photos were a true representation of us as a couple - they were genuine and beautiful; exactly what we wanted. Since we got all of the awkward posing practice out of the way during our engagement session, our wedding day photos were a breeze. I knew I picked the right photographers when they walked into the venue and I was so excited to see them. They really outdid themselves and the whole experience was a blast.
