She takes the time to discover what you want to convey in your photos and what message you want to get across. Gone are the stuffy banking suit headshots, Lara has made our headshots personable, authentic, and unique. I have never loved a picture more than the headshot she did for me. She captured our team photos so well, we used one of the shots for a holiday card. I'm naturally inclined to do cards myself and I will never do them again after having Lara shoot and design our cards. Not only was the quality of the card and design above anything I would put together, but even turnaround was unbelievable. She was able to take our idea and run with it. On the personal side, she captured my daughter's newborn photos along with priceless photos between both my kids. I absolutely cherish the images. The experience was 100% positive, and the results have all my friends wondering when I became so photogenic. At first, I was concerned that the approach to getting results might be a little bossy. That turned out to not be the case. I have not been involved in portrait photos since 4th grade class pictures. It was a horrible experience in 4th grade. Life changing actually, I still have the comb to prove it. I cut school every class picture day afterward. I have refused to allow my picture to be taken in any capacity...until recently. Lara had a way of bringing out the best in me, and all of us. She soothed my concerns, and made me feel like everything was going to be alright again. The city photos are usually of San Antonio, but he's got a bunch of other cities he's photographed. The photos are typically large, colorful and really interesting! Saunders has a giant photo rig that allows him to take incredibly close up photos of flowers, and get all the great details in there as well. My favorite photos are those of irises, where they look like animal closeups. If you show up on First Friday, they often have a few bottles of wine and some light snacks to munch on while checking out the works of art. We booked a family photo session with Mel while we were on vacation. Our friends had previously…read moreused Mel and they recommended her. We corresponded over email and her response time is about a day or less. She has about 3 different packages and about 9 locations she likes to shoot at. We chose Kualoa regional park because it had a few different backgrounds (beach, mountains, outriggers, and dock). On the day of the session she met us at the park and we walked to the locations. She was very easy to work with and she was pretty in tune with the needs of our 1 and 2 year olds. When the girls got fussy or didn't feel like cooperating she would shoot couples pictures of us. Her prices are very reasonable and the pictures came out amazing. We will definitely use her services again if we're back on Oahu.

I found Dorean when I came across one of her cake smash pictures on Pinterest. I fell in love with the photo - it was exactly what I had pictured for my daughters pictures. I got in touch with her, and from there everything else just fell into place. She was up front with providing her package information, session fees and deposits. Everything was perfectly laid out and super easy to understand. We were in contact many times before my session, she always was available for questions and was very hands on when needed and involved in helping me create the vision I had for the session. The day of my session, my always very happy go lucky daughter decided she was not at all interested in having her picture taken and preferred to stay glued to my leg crying for an hour. Dorean was so patient and understanding, and being a mom herself knows these things just happen sometimes. So after a little break, we came back and had an AMAZING session!
