We were so lucky then that Jen was the perfect photographer for us. She has a warm and friendly personality and she made us immediately feel at ease. She has an unobtrusive shooting style where she isn't always getting in everyone's faces with the camera, but she captured every single important smile and emotion and all the little moments that mattered. For example, when my new husband and I secretly held hands under the table during our best woman's toast, Jen captured that moment in a beautiful and emotional photo even though we never even realized she was there at the time! Her photos are of course polished and extremely beautiful and can go head-to-head with the best photographers (in very challenging conditions too, because our wedding venue was pretty dark, but she had no problems at all working with the lighting). But we especially liked how intimate her photos are and how she really brings out the personality of all of our guests by capturing every smile and gesture. The best way I can describe it is that by looking through all the photos that Jen took, it's like reliving our wedding day over and over again, by seeing all the happiness on our guests' faces that we may have missed because we were so busy with everything else. We met with her twice before the wedding to talk about some specific shots, and on May 1st, she arrived bright and early to our wedding in Portsmouth, NH. After two of my hair salon clients in one weekend told me how excited they were to do boudoir…read moreshoots with Melissa for their husbands, I decided to check out her website. And after falling in love with her work, I contacted her to do a maternity shoot for my growing belly :) We booked out a few months, for when I would be between 7-8 months pregnant. My boyfriend and I had SUCH a fun time shooting with Melissa. She is an absolute sweetheart and made us both so comfortable. We never once got bored or felt awkward. She listened to what we wanted (my requests were far from demanding, we just wanted a few nice black & white prints.. and we both have tattoos so we wanted to look as tasteful as possible.. the rest was in her creative hands!) and she worked masterfully- quickly & precisely- behind that camera! When we did our ordering session, we had the hardest time picking out just a few to print.. but we finally narrowed it down to 6 favorites and we are so happy with the quality of the matted prints (I've got them all framed, they're just waiting to go up on the walls!) Katie is an excellent, flexible, & down-to-earth photographer!…read more I asked her to do a photoshoot of my puppy & I just for fun at the park, & it was nothing less than a fun experience for everybody! She gives great direction (I seriously don't know how to pose especially with a puppy) & is very relaxed yet professional. She truly knows what angles are best & chooses/takes the most "flattering" photos. I am very self-conscious, & I have had my fair share of photographers taking pictures of me that just made me feel more insecure. With Katie, however, majority (if not all) of the images she took were impressive & definitely to my liking. She would literally tell me throughout the experience, "Don't worry, I am going to make you look good!" That was honestly so reassuring & made the photoshoot even more pleasurable. The entire session only took about an hour (& that is with a puppy)! She is great at keeping up communication & very accommodating with scheduling & location! I plan to book her again in the future. My fiance and I recently did our engagement shots with Casey and she was so great in accommodating our unusual requests, such as shooting in a movie theater during a movie; inside a busy coffee shop; and inside a library. Also, we shot on a weekday evening, and had to reschedule a bunch of times due to weather and the library's odd hours--Casey was a saint and rolled with it. The result was well worth it, we were over the moon with the photos she took! They were exactly what we were looking for--vintagey and cool, with great use of lighting and angles. Our friends and family also had nothing but great things to say about them. I might mention that we are on a tight budget, and Casey's rates are more than reasonable. Casey is immensely talented and a complete joy to work with…read more When my husband and I looked for a wedding photographer, we felt like a lot of the photographers we interviewed involved some sort of compromise--they took great candids but their details shots were so-so, or they were great at detail shots but took cheesy posed photos, etc. Casey is fantastic at everything, so you don't have to compromise. She is particularly exceptional at couples portraits. She is has a very romantic, natural style. We ended up with dozens of beautiful, frame-able portraits of us that look totally unique (i.e. not like every other wedding photo where the couple is jumping in the air, or staggered ten feet apart and both looking off in the distance or any other cheesy poses--although I am sure if you want those things, Casey will do them). She is also a pleasure to work with. She was super easy to get in touch and very flexible and low-maintenance. During the wedding, she always seemed to be around when I wanted to grab her for a particular photo, but her presence was never intrusive. Casey is awesome. Hire her!
