We interviewed two doulas and I was honestly very torn because I really liked them both for different reasons. Heidi had such a calming presence even through zoom and I knew deep down that would be exactly what I needed. Little did I know at the time my seemingly low risk pregnancy would take some interesting turns. I don't know what I would have done without her constant reassurance. I ended up in the midst of a multiple day induction that picked up incredibly quickly when they broke my water. We had been in communication with Heidi throughout the weeks leading up to my induction and she got to the hospital very quickly when we let her know they had broken my water. Just as i suspected she was the calm in the storm, not just for myself but my husband as well. She took some photos for us of those initial moments together and made sure I got my lusted for post delivery meal before leaving us to get some rest. She stayed in close contact over the next few days while we dealt with a 72 hour hospital stay, a readmittance scare, and struggles with feedings. We had a lovely postpartum visit at our home when things calmed down and it warmed my heart so much to see her hold our son. She advocated for me during labor when I wasn't in the mindset to do so myself and made me feel so supported and safe. I've recommended Heidi and wildwood to everyone I know who has gotten pregnant since my delivery. They are truly such an amazing and supportive group.

Kim was our birth doula she supported me in pregnancy, labor, and birth. The birth experience is a very personal thing and we felt incredibly comfortable with her throughout the entire process. I only ever felt supported by Kim and that she had my best interest at heart. My husband had concerns that having a doula would be distracting for him, however looking back he said that that couldn't have been less true he was thankful for Kim and the support he provided for him too. Zoe was our day time postpartum and we were so thankful to have her there in those essential first weeks. Zoe not only took excellent care of our baby, but she checked in on our physical and mental health. She really was making sure everyone was doing well. I felt comfortable asking her all sorts of questions and she showed us how to give our baby their first bath! Kelsey was our night time postpartum doula, it's a strange feeling leaving your baby with someone overnight and you going to sleep, but from the moment I met Kelsey I knew she would look out for my baby and do what's best for him. As a mom who had a journey with breastfeeding, pumping, formula Kelsey was always coming up with a plan for how I could do what I needed to and get the most sleep. My husband and I would always say "Kelsey night!" the day she was coming because we got to sleep and we knew our baby would be taken care of - which is a rare combo in the days of a newborn. As a whole Wildwood Birth Collective was a dream to work with. The birthing course was thorough and informative and communication for all the staff was excellent. When we talked on the phone, I explained that my baby was a preemie with high needs that was to eat on a set schedule, and the first doula had success carrying her around in a sling as my baby needed that constant human contact. Sheryl arrived and said she would not be carrying my baby, that my baby needed to learn to sleep a certain way, so she took my baby's cradle from my bedroom (I'm a single mom in a small apartment) and put it in the living room. Well, being suddenly in a new environment and alone upset my baby so I listened to my baby crying much of the night and Sheryl walking to/from the kitchen and living room to tend to her (my bedroom is between the two). When I couldn't sleep and came into the living room, Sheryl seemed exasperated that my baby needed to be held so much. Sheryl also took liberties with my baby's feeding schedule -- set by a nutritionist because my baby was not gaining weight properly. Needless to say, my baby and I didn't get much rest and I felt bad for my baby for the care she received. To pay a small fortune ($230) for this type of service is frustrating, and when I brought this to Sheryl's attention, she dismissed my concerns, saying this is "typical for a fill in doula". Overall, Sheryl showed no interest in the needs of my child nor me so I do not recommend Family Doula Tree.

My experience with SafeSplash has been very disappointing, and I haven't even started classes yet…read more I initially enrolled online but had several questions because the schedule was confusing, the swim levels weren't clearly explained, and the website didn't provide enough information. When I called, I was already three-quarters of the way through the enrollment process. The representative asked me to cancel my online enrollment so he could enroll me over the phone, saying I'd get a better price. It ended up being exactly the same price. I also asked multiple times about private lessons because my schedule is very limited. Instead of answering my question, the representative kept talking about creating a group class. I had to explain several times that I wasn't looking for a group class--I wanted private lessons on a schedule that worked for me. Eventually, we found one group class that fit my schedule, and it was literally the only time I could attend. I enrolled and paid the annual registration fee based on that schedule. Then, on the day the class was supposed to start, SafeSplash changed the class time, making it impossible for me to attend. Since then, I've called twice and have been promised a callback within 48 hours, but no one has followed up. I've also been told that the annual registration fee is non-refundable because my class "already started"--even though the reason I can't attend is because they changed the schedule after I enrolled. I understand that schedules sometimes need to change, but customers shouldn't be penalized or charged a non-refundable fee when the company changes the only class they were able to attend. I hope SafeSplash reconsiders how it handles situations like this and improves both its communication and customer service. I'm happy to change my review if you change my experience. C. Travis

No matter where you go or what type of "program" a school says they base their teaching strategies on its honestly all about the teachers and WMI has some of the most caring and nurturing of people around. They are so caring welcoming they make your child feel safe while allowing them to be independent and respectful and have some ownership in their learning and school. The students- AMAZING. They are the most well behaved group of kids you will ever meet... And happy!! Because they model after each other and the teachers are good at modeling discussing/explaining reasons for why we respect each other and act the way we act everyone is happy and just respectful of each other. I had a friend tour who was weirded out and Said it wasn't natural to be this well behaved almost cult like... But it just shows you kids can be respectful playful well behaved little people if they are expected to be. The friend actually toured and did an "experiential day" with the school and actually has her daughter starting end of the month!!! The director- joy is amazing and really caring for her student.. They all love her to pieces. I will say honestly she sometimes is a little disorganized with parents (forgets scheduled meetings with parents from time to time) but never lacks with the children. I think she just has tons on her plate teaching/training/running and amazing school that things fall through the crack sometimes. She really wants the family to be really involved in the community which is great. She is also very easily reached/available and in constant communication with parents. The one negative that I can think of is they don't help wipe the kids if they are potty trained. They want them to be independent and do it on their own. My daughter has come home multiple times with skid marks because I just don't think she can reach that far. I have mentioned it before but not seriously talked to the school about it. Honestly though... There is no other school that I would trust with teaching the right morals and learning how to interact in a community to become fully functioning little people than WMI. You will not regret your decision for going....

When I read her reviews and looked through her site, I thought she was too good to be true. She is as good as that, and more. She comes to your home, she is thorough, kind, professional and insanely knowledgeable about babies, mothers and the human body. Her bedside manner is AMAZING and most impressive of all, she is a baby whisperer. After her visit, we had a much better understanding of breastfeeding, and she also supplied us with an arsenal of resources, customized just for us: baby exercises to strengthen his neck (so he can be an ambi-turner and more effectively nurse both sides), cheeks and tongue; nutrition guidance for me; a pain mgmt/treatment plan for the issues from nursing incorrectly; and details about how to specifically improve where we needed to. She responded to our follow up questions and helped us refine our techniques. Please, please don't hesitate to call her if you're having any doubts or troubles with breastfeeding.

When my baby was about 4 months old, I reached out to The Birthing Stone Doula for guidance, and I'm so glad I did. The set-up process was super easy. Tiffany quickly got back to me, asked a few questions through phone call, and matched me with Julia, one of their sleep coaches. From the very first home visit, Julia was incredible--kind, empathetic, and so knowledgeable. She helped me recognize when my daughter was self-soothing and gave me practical things to try. We set goals like easing daycare naps, learning to self-soothe, and adjusting to her crib. Throughout the process, Julia was always there--quick to respond, thoughtful in her answers, and endlessly encouraging. She gave me confidence to trust my instincts as a mom, while also teaching me tools to help my baby build healthy sleep habits. Within a few weeks, we met all our goals. Now my baby is a solid sleeper, can self-soothe, and sleeps through the night. I honestly don't think we'd be here without Julia's support. Highly recommend!

I'm a first time mother who really had no idea what to expect with the labor and delivery experience. Here are the main points of what we knew we wanted for our birthing experience: *delivery at Legacy Meridian Hospital *labor as long as I could without any pain medication *make use of resources to be comfortable (medicine/peanut ball, jacuzzi, massages, essential oils, dim lighting...etc) *doula for support No judgements. Compassion. We interviewed one other doula before choosing Casey and Charli. Without hesitation I knew I had to have this awesome team to support me. They are incredibly warm and friendly with tons of knowledge and experience with the whole process (pregnancy to postpartum). I felt completely comfortable upon meeting them. One of the biggest reasons why we chose them was because we were guaranteed to see one of them on the big day. Other doulas are so busy with other clients that they may send someone else from their company to support you on your big day, and that was something I didn't feel comfortable with. Casey and Charli didn't make me feel like I was just a number to add to their list of births. They always listened and asked questions. The process was easy and accommodating: first contacted via e-mail, set up the first meeting, establish a contract and deposit, set up another meeting, maintain 24/7 contact throughout pregnancy, go through labor and delivery, pay balance, and postpartum appointment. Birthing Stone offers a lot of great classes, so take advantage of these! Casey and Charli had excellent communication throughout and a great, well-organized system down to support me at any moment. I opted to have a doula-in-training to attend my delivery as well. My delivery exceeded my expectations! I had a fast delivery and ended up not using any of the resources available at the hospital. Charli and the doula-in-training were supportive and helped me to focus on breathing and relaxing during my labor. Charli made me feel like a super woman! She tied my hair back and not only worked with the medical team for me, but she made sure my husband was taken care of too. After my delivery, they checked up on me at home and helped me with any issues I had with breastfeeding. I like that they don't leave you hanging because there's SO much to this whole experience. Overall, I highly recommend Birthing Stone!! If you're looking for a doula team, this is it.

Yes, people expect to have agency over their own bodies! lf you too feel like you would like to collaborate with a caring doctor I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. (The office staff and medical assistant were professional and this does not reflect on them.) Dr. Kyle could not muster even the pretense of empathy and in fact achieved the opposite. I left feeling like my very existence was an inconvenience, diminished and dismissed, traumatized- more afraid than ever (directly due to the complete lack of bedside manner, not b/c I was there for an emergency, uncommon or embarrassing issue). To her credit she was able to do so efficiently and with minimal time wasted. It's tempting to provide a play by play of what was at most a 10 min appointment to illustrate just how terrible the experience was- I don't want to share medical details online. Dr. Kyle could have in our short time together chosen to speak a single caring statement and I wouldn't not be writing these words, but did not extend a single scrap of empathy during our short time together. (It still would have been a waste of my time, but a little caring goes a long way.) I was not ONCE asked if I had any questions even though I intentionally mentioned it was my first time discussing imaging results with a doctor and that I have never had any surgery. With barely a glance my way, at my chart and with only a single question about my symptoms, the doctor IMMEDIATELY tried to push me into what I consider an extreme surgery with NO further explanation. I was shut down the moment I attempted to initiate a discussion- asking for "alternatives b/c given my medical history I have concerns re. surgical outcomes." Instead of addressing my concerns I was painted what was to me a terrifying image of a damaging surgery that would leave a long dramatic scar and shown the door.(BUT lol I was handed a FAQ lifted off the web but only the questions were printed- have to click the drop down for answers- I can google things-I see a Dr. to get an experts medical opinion! ) Yes, there is a possible alternative but they didn't even get the referral right- I think they googled it as it was the same place that made the FAQ but didn't bother to check that the procedure is done at the Minnesota office locations. I wasn't given the doctor's expert opinion on how viable of an alternative it is, success rate etc. or anything beyond the name of the procedure and the joke of googled half baked handout. Nor the opportunity to ask. I know many doctors have a hard job that in recent years have faced added challenges. I'm trying to give someone like this the benefit of the doubt- first impression was they looked exhausted/burnt out. I'm not out to bash anyone but to warn others and validate those who have had similar experiences. I genuinely wonder why doctors like this continue to practice medicine. I guess to pay the bills like the rest of us, it's one thing to quiet quit your office job- when one is a medical doctor there are potentially serious negative consequences for patients. In my case who knows I may need surgery, I may not. What I will not do is be bullied into making an uninformed decision about my body to appease a doctor who shows they couldn't care less about me. I will however warn others- I am particularly mortified to read that a doctor so lacking in bedside manner Dr.'s bio says pediatric and adolescents are a specialty.

Each visit only lasted about 5 minutes, just a very cold experience. Luckily i had amazing nurses that listened when I said I was ready to push! I later found out that Dr. Chan had scheduled a C-section for me-which didnt happen. I have since had another Baby, and my whole experience was so wonderful, with a different doctor. There is really no comparasin! Such a special life changing experience deserves more. I would not normally write a negative review, but after a few years of still feeling negative about the whole situation, it feels necessary for other mamas to know.

Always call your insurance provider on the back of your card to any confirm any surgery with any…read moredoctor. This simple task that will save you a ton of grief. You must make the CALL to confirm IF any procedure is approved. The doctor's office may mislead you and what is supposedly pre-approved may stick you with the entire bill. The word of a surgery clerk will not pay the five to six digit bill after the fact, no matter how confident they seem to be. You must make the call to confirm; and remember to keep your cell phone records if there is a timing dispute. I brought my proof of insurance card into the office over a month before the pre-surgery date. It was ignored. The staff laughed and actually told me there are procedural problems with scanning info and not bothering to do the data entry. Not informed, refusal to read notices I brought in from my insurance company about approval policies: there are still wait times for patients even with Obama Care depending on age and prior coverage lapses. This caused a scheduling bump beyond my control. Remember. Direct communication with your insurance company is your responsibility. Had I not called my insurance provider, I never would have known, the afternoon AFTER my surgery I was not told the truth about pre-approvals by the office. My calls were ignored days before by the coordinator, I was dumbfounded when she actually told me she decided to wait an entire day before calling for the surgery approval. By now it is late afternoon a little more than 48 hours before my surgery. The day before the surgery, I started calling for pre-approval. The insurance provider told me (by 3 different staff members) I was not pre-approved! I had to cancel and deal with trying to reschedule. Hence, keep your cell phone records, direct dial numbers of who you talked to AND get emails. I did. Then things get really bad. I was loudly berated by the doctor for canceling . With my coworkers who could hear her almost screaming scary highs and lows in her voice which finally ended with a total lack of control in the conversation. I'm still having nightmares. Obviously an ego blown. Probably another cover up for the staff and for the benefit of someone listening at the office. I was amazed at the shear terror and refusal to acknowledge any blame for the events or an apology; and yet had the nerve to calm down her terror twice and asked me about rescheduling. Wow, let me get back to you on that one. Google this: 60% of US Bankruptcies Due To Medical Bills, While 78% Of Those Bankruptcies HAVE Insurance Coverage.

Update: I've now gone through two pregnancies/births with the Tuality OBGYN Practice and love them…read more(and the hospital) even more than before. Dr Geller stood in for Dr Rajska while she was on maternity leave. Dr Geller was absolutely wonderful in every way imaginable. I'm so thankful to have three doctors that I know and trust all so close to home! The practice went through a few (totally reasonable) hiccups when transitioning to the new OHSU ownership but it's been over a year since the transition and things seem to be running smoothly. And, BONUS, being apart of the OHSU network has been a real benefit as a patient because of all of my health records are basically in one place now and super easy to access in MyChart.

She minimized my concerns and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. The entire time spent with her was a waste! she fat shamed me and blamed my weight for my health issues. Shortly after my visit I confided in a friend who shared a very similar experience with Rotberg and how procedures were pushed on her over and over again and that if she wasn't going to have a procedure then there was no care for her. Would not recommend this practice to anyone. You are better off avoiding this place at allllll costs.

He will challenge you to do your best but simultaneously is encouraging and patient. I would highly recommend him as a PT especially for Achilles ruptures bc he's helped me make more progress in a month than i have in the last year. No joke. Pays attention each visit to how progression is going and changes treatment accordingly.
