When I read her reviews and looked through her site, I thought she was too good to be true. She is as good as that, and more. She comes to your home, she is thorough, kind, professional and insanely knowledgeable about babies, mothers and the human body. Her bedside manner is AMAZING and most impressive of all, she is a baby whisperer. After her visit, we had a much better understanding of breastfeeding, and she also supplied us with an arsenal of resources, customized just for us: baby exercises to strengthen his neck (so he can be an ambi-turner and more effectively nurse both sides), cheeks and tongue; nutrition guidance for me; a pain mgmt/treatment plan for the issues from nursing incorrectly; and details about how to specifically improve where we needed to. When my baby was about 4 months old, I reached out to The Birthing Stone Doula for guidance, and I'm so glad I did. The set-up process was super easy. Tiffany quickly got back to me, asked a few questions through phone call, and matched me with Julia, one of their sleep coaches. From the very first home visit, Julia was incredible--kind, empathetic, and so knowledgeable. She helped me recognize when my daughter was self-soothing and gave me practical things to try. We set goals like easing daycare naps, learning to self-soothe, and adjusting to her crib. Throughout the process, Julia was always there--quick to respond, thoughtful in her answers, and endlessly encouraging. She gave me confidence to trust my instincts as a mom, while also teaching me tools to help my baby build healthy sleep habits. Within a few weeks, we met all our goals. I'm a first time mother who really had no idea what to expect with the labor and delivery experience. Here are the main points of what we knew we wanted for our birthing experience: *delivery at Legacy Meridian Hospital *labor as long as I could without any pain medication *make use of resources to be comfortable (medicine/peanut ball, jacuzzi, massages, essential oils, dim lighting...etc) *doula for support No judgements. Compassion. We interviewed one other doula before choosing Casey and Charli. Without hesitation I knew I had to have this awesome team to support me. They are incredibly warm and friendly with tons of knowledge and experience with the whole process (pregnancy to postpartum). I felt completely comfortable upon meeting them. One of the biggest reasons why we chose them was because we were guaranteed to see one of them on the big day. Other doulas are so busy with other clients that they may send someone else from their company to support you on your big day, and that was something I didn't feel comfortable with. Casey and Charli didn't make me feel like I was just a number to add to their list of births. They always listened and asked questions. The process was easy and accommodating: first contacted via e-mail, set up the first meeting, establish a contract and deposit, set up another meeting, maintain 24/7 contact throughout pregnancy, go through labor and delivery, pay balance, and postpartum appointment. Birthing Stone offers a lot of great classes, so take advantage of these! Casey and Charli had excellent communication throughout and a great, well-organized system down to support me at any moment. I opted to have a doula-in-training to attend my delivery as well. My delivery exceeded my expectations! I had a fast delivery and ended up not using any of the resources available at the hospital. Charli and the doula-in-training were supportive and helped me to focus on breathing and relaxing during my labor. Charli made me feel like a super woman! She tied my hair back and not only worked with the medical team for me, but she made sure my husband was taken care of too. After my delivery, they checked up on me at home and helped me with any issues I had with breastfeeding. I like that they don't leave you hanging because there's SO much to this whole experience. Overall, I highly recommend Birthing Stone!! If you're looking for a doula team, this is it.

In addition, she was able to attend to my needs while my husband was busy driving to the hospital, checking in, answering questions, etc. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I want to have more babies just so she can be our doula again.

She was so supportive for me and reminded my husband to drink water and eat which made me feel I could focus on me and baby. Yes, people expect to have agency over their own bodies! lf you too feel like you would like to collaborate with a caring doctor I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. (The office staff and medical assistant were professional and this does not reflect on them.) Dr. Kyle could not muster even the pretense of empathy and in fact achieved the opposite. I left feeling like my very existence was an inconvenience, diminished and dismissed, traumatized- more afraid than ever (directly due to the complete lack of bedside manner, not b/c I was there for an emergency, uncommon or embarrassing issue). To her credit she was able to do so efficiently and with minimal time wasted. It's tempting to provide a play by play of what was at most a 10 min appointment to illustrate just how terrible the experience was- I don't want to share medical details online. Dr. Kyle could have in our short time together chosen to speak a single caring statement and I wouldn't not be writing these words, but did not extend a single scrap of empathy during our short time together. (It still would have been a waste of my time, but a little caring goes a long way.) I was not ONCE asked if I had any questions even though I intentionally mentioned it was my first time discussing imaging results with a doctor and that I have never had any surgery. With barely a glance my way, at my chart and with only a single question about my symptoms, the doctor IMMEDIATELY tried to push me into what I consider an extreme surgery with NO further explanation. I was shut down the moment I attempted to initiate a discussion- asking for "alternatives b/c given my medical history I have concerns re. surgical outcomes." Instead of addressing my concerns I was painted what was to me a terrifying image of a damaging surgery that would leave a long dramatic scar and shown the door.(BUT lol I was handed a FAQ lifted off the web but only the questions were printed- have to click the drop down for answers- I can google things-I see a Dr. to get an experts medical opinion! ) Yes, there is a possible alternative but they didn't even get the referral right- I think they googled it as it was the same place that made the FAQ but didn't bother to check that the procedure is done at the Minnesota office locations. I wasn't given the doctor's expert opinion on how viable of an alternative it is, success rate etc. or anything beyond the name of the procedure and the joke of googled half baked handout. Nor the opportunity to ask. I know many doctors have a hard job that in recent years have faced added challenges. I'm trying to give someone like this the benefit of the doubt- first impression was they looked exhausted/burnt out. I'm not out to bash anyone but to warn others and validate those who have had similar experiences. I genuinely wonder why doctors like this continue to practice medicine. I guess to pay the bills like the rest of us, it's one thing to quiet quit your office job- when one is a medical doctor there are potentially serious negative consequences for patients. In my case who knows I may need surgery, I may not. What I will not do is be bullied into making an uninformed decision about my body to appease a doctor who shows they couldn't care less about me. I will however warn others- I am particularly mortified to read that a doctor so lacking in bedside manner Dr.'s bio says pediatric and adolescents are a specialty.

About a year ago, I had no idea what a doula was. When my wife said that she wanted to hire one to…read morehelp during pregnancy and delivery, I instinctively said yes because I'm no fool and a pregnant wife gets what she wants. Later that night, I quietly Googled it... Guys - think personal quarterback mechanics coach. Rebecca was referred to us from a friend who had used her services for her own pregnancy just a few months earlier. My wife scheduled a meeting and Rebecca arrived on-time, very prepared and very knowledgeable. She discussed her methodology and services and answered our questions. She encouraged us to think about it before making a decision about whether or not she was the right doula for us. She was not pushy at all, and never passed judgement on our birth plan. (I was pro-nitrous because I wanted some for myself.) Seriously though, she's so Zen/calm that it's contagious. Because we felt such a strong connection with her, we hired her. Honestly, we probably could have chased after her in the driveway because it didn't take long to know we had found an amazing, caring resource that we NEEDED to help us in our journey. With Rebecca at our side, we always felt prepared. When things came up, we knew we could rely on her to help us with experienced guidance and research. "Let me send you an article on that..." was probably the most common phrase to come out of her mouth. (Mostly because I apparently wasn't doing enough reading/researching on my own.) Even when things veered as far as possible from our birth plan, Rebecca helped us in ways that we never expected, especially in extraordinary ways that were beyond what she was obligated to do. She helped keep us calm and sane in a time when fear could have easily gotten the better of us. I can't imagine the birth of our daughter without Rebecca being there. And if you're reading this review, you are probably searching for a doula to assist with your pregnancy. Congratulations - you found the best.

We had such a wonderful experience with Rebecca. I have a medical background so having a doula…read morethat was well versed in evidence based birthing practices was essential. For every decision that we were going to face in the birth process, Rebecca presented us with all options and research to back them up, letting us decide what was in our best interest. My favorite part of our pre-birth doula visits with Rebecca was the emotional support that she provided. Most often, the visits ended up being a somewhat therapy session around our excitement, anxiety and fears about childbirth. We always left feeling informed and confident. As sometimes happens, our birth plan went in the complete opposite direction as we had expected and having Rebecca guide us through the process kept our (or my) anxiety at ease. She then helped me process my birth experience, something I didn't really realize that I would need. I also had Rebecca process and encapsulate my placenta which I'd highly recommend! I had no idea there were so many ways that placenta capsules could be beneficial in my postpartum journey. One last bonus - Rebecca took some of the most beautiful pictures of our birth day. I hadn't originally wanted any pictures but I'm so happy that I have them now.
