I just can't say I'm impressed. They were friendly and I was greeted coming in, asked if I needed help and checked on while walking around without it being annoying. The store was also very clean so those are the good But the quality and price point just doesn't add up. To me it felt like overpriced sticker covered particle board. The furniture felt cheap. The rugs looked dingy and a lot of the styles on the sales for are outdated. Ashley I would rate the lowest in town for new furniture quality. They do have some cute decor and more unique pieces but overall it was a miss for me. read more

I bought a sleeper sofa here on a 4th of July sale, but nearly didn't. If it hadn't been for the salesman pointing me to a leather look fabric sofa, I would have walked out. (I wanted leather but that seems to be like finding a needle in a haystack in Alaska). Instead of showing me the sofa, the salesman told me where I could find it. Unusual for a furniture salesman but in fairness, they did seem busy for the holiday. Upon delivery, the sofa I bought didn't fit. Though not their job, the crew broke down another piece in another room and swapped them out. $149 delivery fee. They got you coming and going. read more

I hate this place. So. Much. Garbage quality. Annoying sales people. I've been here lots of times, just because I research thoroughly before I make a purchase. And every time, I've poked and prodded, their product quality came up wanting. If the items were several hundred dollars cheaper, then maybe a purchase could be justified if you were short on cash and needed some stop-gap short term furniture. Now I'm not saying all their stuff is garbage, but most of it is. And it's kinda misrepresented. Their sales are a joke. They just jack up the price so they can mark it down. Hate that. I always like coming here and just love the idea of looking at home furnishings for inspiration. The salespeople---just let them know beforehand if you need them or not so they stop bugging you. I got some of my furniture here a while back and they seem to be of good price and good quality and once in a while come here for home decor and lamps to refresh home. Attn: this review has nothing to do with the sales people at Ashley Furniture in Anchorage, all of my experiences with them have been lovely. In early June of this year I discovered a MASSIVE amount of black mold growing on my queen memory foam mattress that I had purchased in August, 2018 from Ashley Furniture in Anchorage (the size of the mold was about 2 ft by 3.5 ft). I attempted to salvage the mattress (I am a grad student and finances are extremely tight), but it could not be saved. Additionally, I am extremely allergic to mold- so allergic that I receive 6 shots every two weeks to manage my allergies. Ashley Furniture has not only put my finances in jeopardy, but also my health. And what do they do? NOTHING. I go in to personally talk to the manager, Bart, and even he is verbally and visually SHOCKED by the amount of black mold growing on my mattress. His response? "Well, you didn't purchase an Ashley Furniture mattress protector initially so we probably can't replace it." My mattress it still under warranty, had a complete allergy-encasement the ENTIRE time I owned it that never came off, I never spilled anything on my mattress, and my landlord hired a maintenance individual to do a mold/moisture inspection in my entire home and found NO EVIDENCE of mold or moisture of any kind. My roommates' mattresses are fine. But mine? No, it must be the mattress protector. How I found the mold? The mattress protector had moisture INSIDE it. No moisture was leaking from it, no mold on my box spring, no mold on my bed frame, no moisture/mold ANYWHERE in my room. Bart on the phone was rude, accusing me of going around in circles when I was asking him questions why my mattress protector purchase was the issue, and could not give me a reason why this was the verdict other than "I am not a scientist." I held off on making my first review since the manager convinced me it was just a bad salesmen and not the company. But if you're wondering if you should give these guys a shot learn from my $4,200 in mistakes. Spent $3,500 on a living room set. We received good customer service until we paid and then no one would answer the phone. It took 3 deliveries and 2 months to get all of our pieces. Wasn't a big deal except when we called to see when we could expect the rest of our furniture the salesman wouldn't call us back and when we talked to others we received inaccurate information. Spent $700 on a bed frame. This time went to a different sales rep. We expressed our desire for a real wood bed and was willing to pay for it, according to the rep Ashely's home store does not sell fake wood furniture only 3rd party retailers do. Fast forward a month and the bed arrives and not a single piece is real wood. Spent $700 on a bed frame as sturdy as the ones at Walmart. But now we're stuck with it because it was a special order. We were moving from San Diego to Soldotna and wanted furniture for our new home. We went to our local Ashley store picked out the furniture for the house and called the anchorage store to see if they could get it for us. Will Sparrow there and his manager spent several conversations over the phone and emails with us to make sure the order was correct as well as the price. Once ordered we picked a week a few months away so we could plan to be at the home when it arrived. Yesterday Tim and his team did a fantastic job delivering and setting up the furniture. I would give "no stars" if Yelp would let me. BUYER BEWARE. A furniture warehouse distribution center is who you have to deal with on any dissatisfaction, returns, or replacements. We got the typical run-around when trying to get them to make right on scratched/broken products. The store said we have to talk to the warehouse manager. The warehouse said the manager wasn't in. Called the store back and was told the warehouse manager is in because they just spoke to him. The warehouse calls us back and it's not the manager, but someone lower on the office chain who couldn't make any decisions. When picking up at the warehouse, we weren't allowed inside to watch the so-called inspection of the furniture that they are supposed to do. Therefore it becomes our word vs. theirs about the damaged products. Spend the extra money on better quality furniture somewhere else and you'll be glad you did in the end...... read more

I ordered dining room chairs here. As I was walking through the store I noticed a sofa set that I saw at Freddies. Dude said they sell some furniture through Freddies and that it's cheaper there as you don't incur shipping costs associated with the furniture as you would at Ashley's. That makes sense since I bought a storage ottoman at Freddies for $65 and saw the same one at Sadler's for $145. I have to wait almost a month for my chairs to come in but I like them so I won't complain too much. read more

I bought my newborn grandson his first dresser here. When it was delivered, it had a chip in one of the drawers. The delivery guys said they would report it to the office. After a couple of days, I called the warehouse and learned that the report was made and that a new drawer would be delivered in 4-6 WEEKS. If I didn't want to wait, I could pay the delivery fee to get it back to the warehouse ($99). I called to speak to the store manager, who I was told was Brian Jenson. No return call. Great job Ashley! I went into the store looking for some new beds. Walked in and told the rep what I wanted, he showed me exactly where and the costs of each. We walked around more and I added my living room to my list. We sat down, my financed was completed within 7 minutes and I scheduled my delivery date. I'm on base so I needed to sponsor the moving crew, so remember to do that on moving day at the Boniface Gate, and once that was done, the crew made certain the rugs, walls, and locations were pristine once the delivery and set up was completed. We had a great experience at this Ashley's. We came in looking for a couch, were able to browse the store being checked on occasionally (but not bothered), and make a decision. The selection and variety was nice! Jeffrey ended up helping us out and he did a wonderful job, very informative and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to ask for him next time I am there. Only reason they got one star is because NO STAR is not available. Manager was rude and disrespectful. Talked down to women and told us to leave when we called him out in his behavior. Spoke to the owner and told him everything that had happened, said he was gonna talk to the manager's boss to let him deal with it. Never heard back from anyone. Got told by a couple of the sales ladies that he treats all women poorly. Took our business else where and suggest everyone do the same. My brother and I went in to purchase our first "grown-up", non-thrift store couch for our new apartment. We were greeted by the sales team there and then pretty much left alone until we found a couch we were interested in (Calion style, light blue color, $699). We were walked through the purchase options by Earl, who was friendly and helpful. We paid for delivery and for the couch to be treated ($198 for both) and were told that we would receive a phone call on Sunday with a 2-hour delivery window for the following Tuesday. We received the automated call which informed us that the couch would be delivered to our apartment between 9:45 and 11:45 am. My brother stayed home to wait for the delivery guys. By 12:30 we still hadn't heard anything from anyone, so I called the store and talked with a woman named Mary. I told her that I was at work, but gave her my brother's phone number, who she said she would call once she figured out why the couch was delayed. She told my brother that the drivers had been held up on their first delivery but, as we were apparently #2 in line, it would be by anytime. However, by 4:30, the couch still had not been delivered and neither my brother nor I had heard a peep from Mary or the delivery drivers. I called the store again and Mary seemed surprised that the couch hadn't been delivered. She told me she was going to call the warehouse to see what had happened. When she called me back she said that the drivers had come by the apartment but couldn't enter because the intercom system was broken. They said they had called repeatedly, but, not being able to reach anyone, promptly left. I checked my phone and my brother checked his and neither one of us had any missed calls. Mary apologized and said that, as it was the end of the day, the couch would not be delivered as promised. She said that the next free time they had to make the delivery was on Friday. When I went home I checked the door just to make sure that, if it truly was broken, the apartment complex could be made aware. However, the buzzer/intercom worked perfectly and the door opened right up without a problem. I also looked for any notes possibly left by the drivers. There were none. Upon reflection, we decided that we could not afford to sit around another day and wait for the delivery which may or may not happen. I called Mary back and told her that if the couch could not be delivered first-thing Wednesday morning, we would like our money back and would take our business elsewhere. I had to work and my brother had to work and we could not stay at home waiting all day again. She told me she would talk with the warehouse and that they could deliver the couch on Wednesday but that we would have to wait until after everything else was delivered, so it would be at the end of the day, after 5:30. We canceled our order and will take our business elsewhere. FOLLOW UP: After contacting customer service, I was told I would receive a phone call within one business day from the store (I assume the manager was going to call). I called on Friday. It is now Tuesday and still haven't heard anything. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend this store to anyone. Or any of the chains for that matter. Horrible customer service ever!! My husband and I are biracial and walked in there with our son. As soon as a white associate saw us she glared at us. Did not say a word. We walked to look for the children's section. Associates would greet my Black husband however would turn a blind eye on myself, don't know if it was because I am Alaskan Native or what not. I went into the Ancorage Ashley store today and asked is my credit reflected in their computer like it is in my bank's. My bank says I have a $1700 credit with Ashley home store here in Anchorage. 1st person said they can show me the somebody that can help me with that question better than he can. So he escorts me back to the offices and tells me this lady can help me. Lady does not acknowledg me at all. I wait a minute and then I leave. Then she tries to talk to me. So I go back to the guy I talked to the 1st time and asked them if he could help me with my situation. He walks over to his computer asked my name and sees my name in there but does not know what he is doing. I asked to speak to a manager please. He says OK and walks away to a phone on the wall. I see him hang up the phone and walks away. HE does not say the manager will be with you in a minute or nothing. Do these people know what customer services? NO! So I walk outside and called them on the phone and asked to speak to the manager. I asked them who trains these idiots in customer service. I didn't say idiots. So he says to not use that language with him. What does he expect when he has employers that treat a customer with no respect. If I could give zero stars I would. I should have read the reviews before going to make my purchase as they do not stand behind their products. Purchased several items for a small apartment. The delivery crew they were awesome. Very professional and they were great putting together the bed, (they get five stars). The unit was vacant for a while and didn't have an opportunity to have the sofa bed used. Had some people move in and after a nights sleep as they were putting the bed away they noticed the flip side of the mattress was mold covered. I went to the store armed with photos. They sent me to the warehouse. Told them what happened and the young clerk went to talk to the manager. He sent this poor young man out to tell me. "Sorry we can't help you, you are on your own. Our guys inspected everything". The delivery crew cut the twine that they used to secure the sofa bed during shipping. They did not inspect the mattress. I'm going to go with condensation as the culprit as it was winter when they delivered everything and I left the mattress in the plastic wrapping until I put the sheet on the bed a few weeks before people moved in. Also when I went to the store I overheard the sales rep say that they had ordered a bunch of these mattress on the cheap, inferior product?. After a few days to calm myself I went back to the store and asked to purchase a mattress as I realized they would do nothing to assist me. They gave me an 800 number. After being on hold for 57 minutes someone finally came on the line. Explained what happened and they told me to contact another department. Told them what happened they said they would contact me in a few days to let me know what they were going to do about it. I waited a week for them to contact me. I called them back and was told to go back to the store and they would help me. I told the lady they gave me this number to call and order a mattress. She said that I can go online to order the mattress. Well there is no listing for the mattress just for the entire sleep sofa. I went on Amazon and got a replacement mattress as I don't want to support a store that can't stand behind it's product. Sales man was fine. However their customer service is sub-par They need to take down all of the signs that lie about how much they value you as a customer and that they stand behind their product. If you have a problem their customer service is bottom of the barrel. Once they have your money they don't care. You will get the run around for weeks. So if you do risk it. Make sure to inspect they heck out of your purchase the day it comes in, after that you are on your own with them. read more

This store and its managers (especially Liz) do nothing but give you the run around after they sell you a defective couch. They offer a depreciated value that is less than half what you paid for it even after they admit that it was defective and they had many problems with those couches. They actually proceed to say they're doing you a favor, Liz even calling us ungrateful, and leave you with a scratched couch and a couple hundred bucks which won't even be enough to buy their defective products in the first place. The sale's person Random, who was very patient and spent many phone calls with me to answer my questions. Since I will redo my bedroom floor, I worried that if the floor will not be finished when my bedroom set arrives, Random told me that the store would hold my bedroom set for 45 day until the set can be delivered. I am very happy to get this good service. And I will buy more furniture from Ashley in the future. read more

Ashley's Warranty is useless. Spilled water on a table and the wood bubbled up. I might have expected a water ring but not that kind of damage. It didn't take but a few minutes for it to soak into the wood causing it expand and form bubbles in the table top. "Customer Damage" was their excuse. Great sales staff but lousy warranty. read more

I don't get it why this store has low rates. I had fabulous experience in this store and all of salesmen are friendly, not pushy and give us space while me and my fiancé were making decision. I bought my bed frame here at the first time and I satisfied with good price. Second time I bought my couch and it make me and my fiancé both happy. So I had to go back to get my new coffee table here for my new apartment and they have many different of 3 pack table (1 coffee table+2 stands) with good price which around $300-$400. I immediately got one of them today and It made my day:) I don't know what kind of experience other people got here but this place was pretty busy too. read more

Sales associate was spacey and trying to sell me other crap in stead of what I wanted didnt work. Part 2 is there pick up service that get no damn stars. I wait 21/2 hours to pick it up I get there and there busy 1 guy it's his 2nd day he tells me to park at bay 1 and we'll get an associate to load it. Bay opens up I back right to it and wait. Still waiting 20 min finally I go back inside to hear some guy that walked in 5 min ago (keep in mind I have been waiting 25 min) pull up to bay 2 they loads him up and he's gone. I said wait I've been here awhile where's my product. She said oh we had to wrap it that's what's taken so long. I wouldn't be so pissed off if they would have said hey we gotta wrap it it'll be a minute. No I had to hunt them down and get cut off while I'm trying to explain what's going on. This was the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had. Not only did the warehouse make us wait for an hour to pick up our furniture, I had to go back in to remind them we were still waiting. They never let us inspect our purchase. When I got home, I found scratches and broken pieces from the mishandling of furniture in the warehouse. When I called for replacement furniture, the manager at Ashley's was completely unhelpful. They wanted me to figure it out with the warehouse. When I explained that I made my purchase with Ashley's and that they should straighten the issue out with their warehouse people, they refused. I had to take time off of work for them to come get the broken furniture and they couldn't arrange the delivery for a couple of days. We decided to return the furniture and when the delivery drivers showed up they didn't seem the least bit surprised by the warehouse damage. I get the feeling this happens a LOT at this store. This furniture is cheap junk, the service is the worst, and it would be better to purchase your furniture from Walmart. read more

Upon partial delivery, the person volunteered that he probably should not even take the items off the truck; the furniture was damaged. Sure enough it was cracked, chipped, and broken. They attempted re-delivery of new furniture the following Friday, and a dresser drawer was broken and the mirror was discolored. Ended up cancelling the order. It was fairly easy to cancel; I got the impression that they ran into this problem frequently. read more

Customer service was awful. After being in the store for 20 minutes, I had to find a sales associate to help me so I could purchase their product. I asked if they would price match another website's price which they told me they would not. When I came back in to pick it up, I asked if they would honor the price on their website which was $125 cheaper than what I had paid and they said they would not. I asked to speak with a manager and they said none were in that day. I ended up taking the furniture home and returning it the next day. I am still waiting on my refund from there. When your company is in the wrong you don't make the customer feel like it's their fault or that they shouldn't be upset. What happened to the customer is always right? Especially when your company messes up? I paid for a couch on Feb 12 that needed to be shipped to my address in another town. After almost a month of me making numerous contacts I still don't have a couch or my money back that I finally requested because of the company's incompetence and hassle this has caused. They "lost the freight" for over 2 weeks, then sent a bed instead of a couch. Seriously?? How do you mix up a bed and a couch? All I got was the run around every time I called and it was always someone else's fault. Never got any return phone calls even when told I would receive one. I will NEVER do any business with this company again!!! I was told I would have my money back in 3 business days and here we are a week later and still no money refunded. "They are processing it today"...which I'm sure if I wouldn't have called again today, who knows how long it would be before it was returned. They don't have a problem taking your money but they sure seem to have issues refunding it. Not to mention not one apology for all their wrong doings. I'm deeply disappointed with this company.
