This store does have some cute items, and I'm sure there are a few exclusive pieces here and there. But after my recent experience I will never support this store again. We paid $120 for a lamp and then found out later it was part of a $120 set of TWO from Bed Bath & Beyond! When you shop at a boutique, you expect that higher prices mean you're getting something more unique, higher quality, or thoughtfully sourced. Instead, They're reselling mass market items at a 100% markup while presenting them as boutique finds. I think it's wrong to take advantage of customers this way, especially when you're shopping with the expectation that you're paying more for something special or unique. It Just be cautious and check brands before you splurge. read more

I've been a fan of Ozarks for years!!! They use to truly be more of an antique store back in the day, whereas now, it's new items that have been distressed to appear antique. It doesn't stop me from shopping there one bit, there are several items in my home from Ozarks. They're offering a cute boho clothing section, accessories and Vera Bradley, which I personally am not of fan of. I know a lot of women like her bags, I'm just not a fan. The rustic furniture, decor, bar accessories, lighting, hone fragrance and such are right up my alley. The holiday decor is fabulous to boot! It's always nice to go in during the holidays to grab a little something, along with shopping for gifts. I think my biggest deterrent for not giving them five stars are the prices! They're pretty outrageous on a lot of items. I'm not saying I don't pay a ridiculous price for something I truly fancy, because sometimes I do, but more times than not, I walk away from it. Smaller items tend to be more reasonable, but not always. When something is perfect for what you're looking for though, every now and then it's worth the splurge! read more

If my memory serves me, over 20 years ago Ozarks used to be a true antique store off of Arctic and I used to visit it often with my grandmother . While the new location features antique-like and distressed items, it's a far cry from a true antique store. It's a great spot to pick up gifts, especially things like candles, soaps, kitchen accessories, etc. It's a fun store just to sort of cruise around in and check things out; they've done a good job with merchandise placement and themes. My one complaint, which appears to be shared with another reviewer is that the pricing can be pretty outrageous on certain items, particularly furniture. read more

Favorite store in anchorage to shop at for gifts for friends and family and just to buy myself a present. They always make the ambiance perfectly seasonal, smelling amazing, and making you want to leave with the whole store in the back of your car. While I love it with all my heart I think it is important to notate that I do think this store can be extremely overpriced on certain items at times. That being said I recognize importing quality goods up here may come at a premium, and all of their furniture pieces are one of a kind. Not to mention you can find items that I think are priced quite fairly too all things considered. If you feel like getting out and window shopping or have some Christmas money you want to spend, this should most definitely be high up in your list. Trust me, I went nearly 5 days in a row when decorating for Christmas this year, and if you live Christmas as much as me you want to go! For my 300th Review, I wanted to save it for a special entry!!!! Last year I drove by a few times, but never went in. Thank god I did yesterday. This place is a TREASURE TROVE. It's more than antiques. Oftentimes, antique hunting will get old (excuse the pun), because you can't see yourself decorating your home with worn stuff, no matter how interesting it looks. At Ozarks, they do a magnificent job of staging the areas with vintage and new to create a modern and romantic look. Wandering through this store is a delight because their furniture and object d'arts are whimsical, flirty, and full of personality. I saw all kinds of styles, from American Colonial, to German, to French, and of course, Italian. They have chandeliers, vases, candle holders, foyer tables, chairs, stained glass, bookcases, wine racks, mirrrors, vanities, and more! The furniture prices can range from $50 to $1000 that I saw; but you see the quality in the craftsmanship, so it's worth the price if it really catches your eye and heart. Ozarks has some cute stuff. As they say it's a mix of old and new, but most of it is new. Their prices are way super-high compared to what I was used to for the lower 48 for the same merchandise. They've got lots of furniture, some boutique-y clothes, lotion, soaps, candles, artwork, dust catchers and gifty type stuff. I loved their selection of antique replica drawer pulls. Have been here before in the past when they tended to lean more towards vintage and antique items rather than more "gift-y" items, though thats not a complaint. We have multiple other antique stores in town, so this shift has left Ozarks as a unique little shop. They are also the only place in town that sells my perfume of choice, which is a huge plus as otherwise I have to order it from the lower 48 for a significantly higher price. The ladies behind the counter were incredibly sweet and helpful! would recommend stopping in if you enjoy a good atmosphere and a little shopping. read more

I can't say enough positive things about this place. I LOVE Ozarks. They're an antique store/home furnishing/gift store. They sell everything from clothing to candles to lamps and furniture. The atmosphere is very flea market/rustic/mixed media/vintage. I come here every First Friday. They usually have deals on their clothes and merchandise. This store brings me back to the boutiques in Soho. However, there's also a wide selection of Vera Bradley bags that confuse my mind and make me feel like I'm back in the South. Bottom line: it's a fabulous confusion. You could spend hours in here. Luckily for my checking account, I don't have to buy furniture right now. I am fairly new to the whole antiquing thing, and my experiences have basically been that antiques stores are either very little or very big spaces crammed with all kinds of stuff, most of which I might be tempted to identify as crap (mainly because it's a lot of tchotchkes and trinkets, which I'm not into). I have to be in an inquisitive, searching mood. Ozarks is very different--it's clean, open, and offers a mix of new and old, with a lot of the former. I thought that all of the household items were all very similar and didn't have much variety in styles.The new items are distressed--intentionally--meant to look well-worn and suit a kind of shabby chic decor, which matched the types of antiques they had there. In fact, when I think of this store, I think it would be a treasure for decorators, and people who can afford decorators. It seemed very high-priced. Still, it was fun to look around in. Since they have a bunch of little household items, including soaps and lotions and the like, it might be a good place to find gifts. Probably the best and most unexpected part, aside from the adorable ladies who work there and who are very personable and helpful, was the little clothing boutique, where they have brands like Free People and similar styles. I wouldn't pay full price for those clothes, but they recently had a great clearance that made some of the pieces very affordable. They have a fun mix of accessories, too, though I was surprised to see a store that carries Free People also has a huge section of Vera Bradley, which I think of as the Laura Ashley of the 21st century. Not my style. But if it's yours, I think you'll like this place. And I put my name on the email list to get first crack at future sales. read more

Stopped in, not realizing it was close to closing - especially due to all the merchandise displayed on the front porch. I had some items (and it's just now 6, I might add) in my hand, and when I walked in all the lights were off and the clerk had keys in her hand. When I remarked I didn't realize they were closed, she responded yes, @ 6. Rather unenthusiastically, she asked if I wanted the items. At that point, I wasn't going to spend a dime. I almost laughed and said, "Honey, you don't own the place, do you?" It's tough to find employees who will work as if their jobs depend on it, and this is another example. By the time I got behind the wheel, she had the doors locked and was headed out. Sad. read more

This is an antique store for those who aren't very good at "antiquing". They have a nice mix of new items and actual antiques and it's all staged BEAUTIFULLY. I'm the type of person that hates most antique stores because it just looks like a bunch of old junk I can't use. Not this place. Everything is in good condition and is a great place for decorating inspiration. They have a nice collection of antique lamp bases and also sell some lamp shades to mix and match. They also have other gift items throughout the store - Vera Bradley, candles, bath/body items, picture frames. Every time I go in I usually find at least one small piece to take home...last time it was a gold jewelry stand to hang necklaces. Darling. Although I'm sad that Ozarks had to move out of their really cool old house on Arctic, they have done a great job with the new location. Every time I go in I am inspired by their creativity - and for Halloween and Christmas, they really go over the top. It's a great place for unique gifts - especially for people who love the vintage look. I find their prices very reasonable - you can find something in every price range. I guess if you are attracted to an unusual piece of vintage furniture that has been meticulously recovered in real bark cloth from a bolt someone found in a fabric store basement in the midwest, it might be expensive. But it just shows that you have expensive tastes! read more
