Looking for some furniture for the new house. Hubby and I decided to check out this furniture store located in Anderson. It was a good choice. This huge warehouse has lots of choices. When we went in, we were greeted by Alex. We told him what we were looking for. He asked if we had been in the store before. When we said we had not, he explained where all of the furniture/styles/areas were located. Alex was probably the best sales person I have encountered in a while. He was very informative, helpful, but he wasn't pushy at all. He allowed us to browse but was available in case we had any specific questions. I would recommend this furniture store. They have a huge inventory and staff are friendly. We went on President's Day and sale prices were good. If you go in, ask for Alex. Tell him Kathy sent you. (Sorry I forgot to take pictures. I strongly recommend avoiding Ashley Furniture, no matter how attractive the price may seem. We purchased two Bradney swivel accent chairs that took more than a month to arrive. I took off work for a Tuesday morning delivery, but Ashley changed the delivery window three times and then never showed up. We heard nothing for two days. When the chairs were finally delivered, that window was changed twice as well, and they arrived in a rental truck because we were told the Ashley truck had broken down. The chairs were left sitting in our driveway, out of their boxes and wrapped only in torn plastic. When we unwrapped them about a week later, we found poor craftsmanship, missed stitching, loose threads, and a puncture hole. Customer service was even worse. Ashley repeatedly placed the burden of solving the problem back on us. One representative requested photos and promised to find a solution. Instead, we received an email two days later saying parts had been ordered and that we should call to schedule a repair. This was never discussed with us or approved. Are they really planning to reupholster two brand-new chairs instead of replacing the damaged furniture they delivered? Ashley also claims damage must be reported within three days, despite its own failed delivery and the condition in which the chairs arrived. I am now disputing the purchase through my bank. We are stuck with two damaged chairs and no acceptable resolution. The delivery was unreliable, the quality was unacceptable, and the customer service was atrocious. Very disappointed in Ashley furniture as the customer experience is appalling. We purchased a sectional and a recliner from the store. The sectional is perfect but the recliner is extremely uncomfortable. Less than 24 hours after delivery, we attempted to return for a refund (minus delivery and set up). Refund denied. If we had ordered online, we would have had 72 hours to return. This company is shady as hell, beware. We are stuck with a $2k recliner that is unusable. read more

We went to Ashley furniture store to check out what a particular recliner looked like and the comfort level. We dealt with the sales manager as we were looking. We told him we were thinking about ordering them online and having them delivered. He told us that was a bad idea. He said they had a warehouse just up the road and they could get them to us much faster than ordering them online. So, we decided to order them from the store. Bad idea. He said we would have them in two weeks. It has been a month now and we have heard nothing from them. I have called the customer service line and all they can do is look and see that it is not at the warehouse and we will be contacted when it gets there. They apologized for the sales manager telling us we would have them in two weeks. I can't even say anything yet about the quality, because we have yet to see the chairs. very disappointed. It seems that with all of these bad reviews, someone would be making an effort to improve things. It shows that obviously no one is paying attention. I will get back about the quality later. I wish I had read all these negative reviews prior to purchasing a new bedframe and mattress because if I did, I never would've purchased from Ashley. Promises from sales team and management in the showroom are all made to make the sale and not follow through on. Waited three weeks for furniture delivery, and the bedframe was severely damaged, which we rejected but we accepted delivery of the mattress. We were told their mattress guarantee was if we didn't like it they would exchange for whatever we preferred. The boxspring ordered did not look right with her furniture and we contacted Dennis our sales guy the very next day to have an exchange for the preferred height we needed. After several texts and voicemails we got a response over a week later that we needed to deal with customer "care". After another 10 days leaving voicemails with customer care, we finally spoke to someone were told that our request was being denied. They said we needed to speak with David the general manager of the store. Still waiting on a call back from David for over a week. Extremely poor customer care/service and a tremendous amount of ghosting by the sales team and management. My recommendation is to find another furniture store to spend your hard earned money. read more

Buyers beware if you don't buy their extended warranty they will not stand by the quality of their products. We bought 4 counter high chairs. They seemed like sturdy chairs. 3 out of the four had screws installed crooked. One corner screw may have been stripped because the corner piece had glue all over it. One chair has a gouge out of the back right where you put your hand! Their solution to correct their poorly built chairs is to send us more screws and a new back to the chair and we get to repair it ourselves!?! So ridiculous! Not acceptable and horrible customer service!! Your only option is to have it delivered and they missed the delivery window by 3.5 hours so when they finally delivered the chairs at 630 pm on a Friday the delivery folks barely got them in the front door and took off. They do this do you can't refuse delivery which we would have done once we looked under seats of each chair. 0ver $500 for four chairs because of their big "labor day sale" what a scam. read more

On February 19, 2020, we purchased a power lift recliner for my 86 y.o. MIL. It was delivered in February 26th, but the delivery guys didn't have the power cords. We agreed to accept delivery under the premise they'd promptly ship them. It took over a month, and when received, the power lift still didn't work. It took almost 5 months with a dozen phone calls, multiple missed commitments, and finally escalation to the Corporate Franchisee Director when they finally exchanged for a totally new chair. As of July 8, 2020, our Ashley Furniture nightmare is finally over. I needed to new couch and my husband insisted no buying online In store only. We were helped by Will instantly as we arrived but of course we had looking around to do first. After about 45 minutes to an hour we found what we wanted. We were asked several times if we needed help. Our delivery date is a month from our initial buy date but we were told it's due to a fire at their warehouse. I can't comment on delivery but the store itself is completely different then the delivery because those people in the store won't be delivering my furniture. I had a confusion with my paperwork and had to go back but after finding the right people I was quickly helped. Like anything you order there is a possibility of back order or delay if they don't have it in stock. I have been lied too repeatedly. I was told my delivery date would be the 14th and guaranteed it by a sales rep Steven in Anderson or else we would not have bought it. I was told that my paperwork had been shredded by someone on the 5th, so I had to go back in to do it over again. I was told that it would not affect my delivery date on the 8th, by the girl redoing the paperwork., and everything was on time on September 8th. Told that someone would email me with a confirmation date. I received that confirmation date for the 14th and confirmed it. I called on the 12th because I had been told I would receive a call with an approximate time for delivery on the 14th. I then find out I don't even have an order. Then after being transferred to the store finally the salesperson says, it's just an approximation time, the order is in. I was told I would be contacted about this by the delivery people not true, it was a lie. Told that I would be called back yesterday evening the 12th a lie by the salesperson. I waited until 3pm today the 13th to start all over again. Was told, so what it happens this way by the salesperson Steven and Manger Brian at the Anderson store. Who said there was nothing they could and that it was out of their hands. Does that sound like people that should be running a store for you, unwilling to try. Ultimately, I would just need to get over it and so what if you cancel the sale. They didn't care because it matters not to them about customer service, we just going to sell it not help out with it. No one has cared so far not the customer care associates which bless their hearts they didn't make the first lie. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE!!! I spent $2,500 on a leather sectional and it was due to be delivered in one week. It was delivered, brought upstairs, and unwrapped. I noticed that all of the tacks on the left arm part of the couch were not secure and the leather on the back was severely stretched. The delivery driver went to the truck and brought a mallet back upstairs in an attempt to hammer it back together. Surprisingly it did not work... They loaded the couch back up and I was told it was being sent back to the manufacturer. The Chaise lounge that was to be the other side of the couch was in fine condition with only a few frayed stitches so I accepted it as to have a place to sit while I waited another week for the delivery. It was delivered again. The driver said it appeared to have been re-wrapped and not in original packaging. We opened the plastic while it sat in the truck. IT WAS THE SAME COUCH I HAD RETURNED!! They made a weak attempt to repair it but nope, still broken. I returned (or in Ashley's wording "refused" delivery) the couch and was told by the woman on the phone that it they would ship a new one, but this time, flag it for inspection prior to shipping. DO YOU NOT INSPECT YOUR PRODUCT TO BEGIN WITH? The best part is they asked if they could do anything else for me and I asked for a discount. The customer service representative explained that they would discuss compensation once all pieces had been delivered. The kick there is according to their policy you can't return the product once it's been accepted into the home. You loose all leverage and they have no reason to compensate you for missing work to accept delivery in the middle of a Tuesday (twice) and for just the general hassle of only having half of a couch sitting in the middle of the room for 3 weeks. The leather sleeper sofa was discontinued in my preferred color which was disappointing, but I ordered the mahogany and am hopeful I like it just as well. I took out the 5 year warranty plus Ashley was to have a year warranty included. I had an issue with my kitchen table and was denied coverage. Also, my electric leather sofa stitching started coming loose at the back of seat and a hole appeared, slits in between cushion which stick you to sit on and guess what NOT COVERED!! THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. NOTHING I CAUSED! My night stand drawer rail fell off and the drawer fell out which made the other side loose and I only had socks in it and THE COVERAGE CLAIM WAS DENIED!!! You cannot get ANYONE TO HELP YOU PERIOD! We purchased a sofa, ottoman and chair almost 5 years ago from Ashley furniture. The covering was a Durablend. After approximately 3 and 1/2 years of use, the couch began to show signs of wear and the durablend began to crack and tear. This occurred simply from sitting on the couch. We had purchased the warranty plan, strongly urged by Ashley stating that if something were to go wrong with the furniture within the first 5 years, it could be replaced. I began the process of submitting information about the couch to the warranty company. Once everything had been received (pictures included), We were told that was "normal wear and tear" and there was nothing they could do. As you can imagine, the couch just continued to tear and peel and looked absolutely terrible. What a waste of money! I can not tell you how much trouble I have had with them! Ordered a dining room set early in November that I was told would DEFINITELY arrive before Thanksgiving. That didn't happen and no one even let me know until I called them. By the way, you can't call the store, you have to call their "corporate" number that handles all their calls. I called and was told I was 32 in que, 48 in que, 66 in que. I did have my sales person April Todd's cell phone number, but of course her mailbox was always full. I did text her but never got a response back. Their sales people only want to sell you product that nobody will stand behind. Anyway, product arrives early in Dec. and they get you to say on the phone that everything is good. What I didn't realize was they didn't leave the handles for the drawers in the table. Literally the drivers were gone 5 minutes when I realized this. I tried to call the driver back on the number he had called to say he was in his way, but 5 phone calls, no answers. So back to corporate number. One and a half hours later, the CSR tells me she will order the parts and they will be shipped to me. Now , 3 weeks later, no parts. I again call corporate after sending 2 texts to April Todd this week asking her to check on them with no response! Again, sell the product, make your commission then ignore the customer. Corporate tells me I should have my parts sometime in February. I tell Shemika that is not satisfactory and I want her to send someone to pick it up. She tells me she will process a return work order and they will send someone to pick it up. When I ask her for an email to confirm that, she says she can only send the email to the store and the store would get in touch with me. By now I am so disgusted that I stop at the store this afternoon to make sure they got the return order. April is not there, but I explained the situation to the girl at the desk who tells me she needs to get a manager. She walks about 10 feet away, (this is the icing on the cake) and explains to a man sitting in a recliner with his feet up, my situation. I hear him say, "tell her...." I about blew a fuse! This man could not even get OUT OF THIS CHAIR to talk to a dissatisfied customer! I have attached his photo. He was no help at all. Needless to say I will not pay for this. They also forgot forgot a recliner (said that it was due next month). The footboard for the bed didn't come either and the headboard was cracked so I couldn't accept it. Well I have to say that the in store experience was good. The bad comes in when my furniture is supposed to be delivered. We ordered on Oct 15, closed on our house on October 20. We knew the furniture was scheduled to be delivered Nov. 10 due to a delay with the bridge for our entertainment center. Well the Wednesday before the furniture should be delivered I get a call that went to voice mail telling me there was now a delay with my sofa and they had rescheduled the delivery for the following Wednesday. I call Monday to find out when Wednesday they will bring it to have someone at my house and I find out I am not even scheduled for Wednesday, they have me down for that Friday!! I explain what my voicemail said and no one seemed to care. I had heard bad things about the delivery service. I wish I had listened! read more

Run away! I bought a coffee table - waited over a month to get it - had to load it in my truck myself while the employee stood by and smoked a cigarette - got it home and it was damaged. They said it would be in on the 26th but it wasn't and then we had to call to find out if it ever came in because they didn't call us as they said they would. Horrible service. They lied about the delivery date to make the sale, and then the day before the furniture was scheduled to be delivered, they called and stated instead of the one promised shipment, they would be sending our ordered furniture in five different shipments over a two month time span (and then kept calling with further delays). Once an item finally did arrive (four weeks after the promised date for everything to be delivered) it arrived broken and was unable to be put together. After trying to rectify the problem with multiple calls to the store and corporate with no remedies, we finally canceled the order only to be charged a 10% restocking fee (on every item, including the seven items they never even removed from inventory and they stated would take another month to arrive) and were charged a delivery fee (for broken furniture). Do not and I repeat DO NOT deal with Ashley Furniture. Service in the store was amazing but their deliver process and Customer service reps have been horrendous! When we purchased our new bedroom suite we were given a deliver date of July 18th. They even called and confirmed delivery on both pieces on July 16th. Which made me believe that both pieces were available. Deliver man only showed up with one of piece of furniture. I wasn't given a phone call or told that I would only receive one piece. When I called Customer service I was promised a second delivery date of July 21st. Just got another call from customer service stating that my deliver would now be Aug. 4th. My husband and I are living out of baskets because we no longer have any bedroom furniture. If someone would have just been honest upfront and told me that the furniture wasn't available, then I could of had the choice to wait it out or pick a different set. Customer service didn't not wanna solve my problem. Their only concern was letting me know they WOULD NOT compensate for any delivery issues. I don't want compensation, I just want my furniture! I'm completely disgusted with how they have treated me as a customer. My money is more important than my satisfaction. I purchased the Bladen recliner from Ashley furniture. The store had the recliner listed at $499 but I had an online price on the Ashley website on my phone for $299. The sales lady, Melissa honored the online price. The recliner was delivered when they said they were going to deliver it. I have only had the recliner for a few days but it feels comfortable and I like the look of leather but feel of fabric. read more

I went into the store in Anderson during Memorial Day Weekend. They were fairly busy. it took 10 min. to be waited on, then after talking to me and writing up my order, that she said she was going to put in the computer system, she went and helped another customer. I sat for another 10 min. and she was not the most pleasant sales person. She seemed overwhelmed by being so busy. I should have shopped around more before buying my 2 loveseats. They were on sale, but then I found them some place else cheaper with FREE delivery. I guess I have learned a lesson..............shop around before buying and don't shop at Ashley because they are full of BS. Their prices are not cheap and their service is not good. After 7 months, one of the reclining seats don't work and trying to get someone out to fix them has been a hassle. They came with a 12 months warrantee. read more

I recently bought living room furniture in the Anderson, SC store. My purchasing experience was great. The showroom is beautiful, and I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. However, the customer service I received afterwards was terrible! I was lied to multiple times about the furniture being delivered to my home after paying for delivery. I was also repeatedly lied to about being refunded the delivery fee after I was left with no choice but to pick up the furniture myself. If that's not bad enough, when I went in to pick up the furniture, I was told that there were no movers there to move the furniture from the floor to the loading dock, and they expected me to do it! This was by far the worst customer service I've ever received in any store I've ever patroned. Hey, So I purchased my furniture in May of 2018 and it was delivered in June. The quoted me 120 a month. However, once I received my statement it's over 200 dollars. Of course I immediately called the sales person. She said call the finance company because it's probably that much because it's for a year instead of 2 years. I did just that and it was for 2 years. Therefore, I informed them I don't want the furniture because I cannot afford 200 a month so can they come get it. The told me I need to pay delivery fee and a percentage of the coast. WHAT!!!!!!. That is crazy. So, someone from corporate said they are working on a solutions. This been going on since the end of June. My credit is being destroyed because the finance company is reporting me. I doing everything I can so they can handle this. I am being patient my next big step is going to the news. I am so frustrated. They are forcing me to keep this furniture and I cannot afford it.
