We purchased a bed and chest on October 5th, they told us it would arrive in 6-8 weeks. It is now December 16th and we just called and they made an excuse as to why they've delayed it for the fourth time. If we are to receive the items we order on 23rd (which seems unlikely because they've already delayed it 4 times) it will still arrive 4 weeks after we were told they'd be delivered. I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from this store because you are likely to not receive your ordered items. read more

Very disappointed! They are dishonest about the warranty's and delivery of furniture. They say 4 to 6 weeks but it's actually over 3 months before you get what you buy. They tell you they honor the warranty and service agreements to get more money from you but when it comes to actually doing it they don't honor it. The people working there are rude and nasty when questioned or don't even answer the phone at all. As far as the value of the furniture for what you pay, it's way over priced. I purchased a sofa, loveseat, recliner. I had it for about six months when the material started to ball up, so I contacted Ashley furniture and they offered to come get it and fix it when it was delivered back to my home I had it for about another six months and noticed that all the pieces were starting to do this. I called Ashley furniture again and they sent someone out. He started to remove the fabric from the chair and broke the reclining part and then he went to Home Depot to purchase a part to fix it. it hasn't been the same ever since and the fabric started to repeat the ball up. They kept putting me off long enough for the warranty to run out so they didn't have to deal with it anymore. I was very disappointed. I still have the furniture and the material is ripped in several places and I am a very immaculate housekeeper and I take very good care of my things. This makes me so sad that I have to live with this until I can afford a new set. When I looked at the reviews on their website, there was no one that had anything good to say about them. The furniture I ordered online from Ashley furniture Sunday, august 27, 2023, has become a nightmare. Attached is the order confirmation that Ashley emailed me. As you can see, originally I did not want to pay for delivery or assembly. But, once I ordered a 5 year Furniture Protection Plan, a box appears that says "No Hassel Delivery. Assembly included FREE". When talking to any of the agents representing Ashley, the "No Hassel Delivery. Assembly included FREE", will not be honored. Why I asked. Because you did not pay for free delivery or assembly. So we have gone around and around about my attachment saying it's free. Mary J. (representative of Ashley), says she doesn't see what I'm talking about. Dennis Mate (another representative of Ashley), says, "I see what you are talking about. It must be a glitch, and I will have it removed). Coralee D. (another representative of Ashley), says I need to cancel the order and reorder if I want delivery and assembly for a fee. My question is, "why do I need to purchase the delivery and assembly when it says on my confirmation it's included in my Furniture Protection Plan? So..the last Ashley representative I tried talking to was Veronica Green. I'll admit besides Dennis Mate, she started out as the second nicest representative I have spoken to. Once we got into my complaint, she says almost the identical thing that they all said. They cannot change what the order says. So my retort is, "ok, then you must honor what you sent to me...no fee for delivery and assembly (assembly by the way would consist of screwing 4 legs on the queen sofa and 4 legs on the love seat). Veronica says no.....what they sent me originally was not the order confirmation. I asked, then why did they send it. She has no idea. No one does. My last argument was.....if I go to Kohl's Department store and they have $39.99 on a blanket and I go to checkout and the price rings up $69.99, why do they agree to allow the purchase at the price that is marked on the item?????? Despite having a poor experience with them back in 2020, we were moving and wanted to purchase furniture to bring with us. We go in and purchase an expensive sectional that was on the floor and apparently the last of a discontinued line. We were told that if we wanted this sectional we would have to purchase a fifth piece and an ottoman because they would not sell it partially since it was the last sectional of it's type, despite being listed as a 4 piece sectional for 1999. This should have been our first red flag, but we were moving and we ignored it, because we really like the couch. Fast forward to the day we go pick up the sectional and get it out in our U-Haul, the pieces are just laid in the U-Haul all scattered so we had to move them ourselves to fit the rest of our stuff. We had them tied down and nothing laying on the pieces for the four hour ride we had to move. Second red flag, and this is also on us for not better inspecting the pieces prior to picking up the sectional. So we finally get to our new place, go to unpack the couch and notice one of the support boards in the bottom of the longest piece of the couch is snapped. Immediately we call the home store and this begins the run around. We first talked to Steve, the store manager who started out as nice, but changed his demeanor over time. I called and explained the whole situation- he told me I need to contact an Ashley store and ask them to come look at the piece and bill Ashley. I went to the store here told them the situation and they said they do not do that and that I need to contact an online representative. I spent over two hours on the day I was trying to move calling them, being given a different number, and then finally given another number which just put me back to calling the store. He then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted the couch fixed by my contractor I could do that. So I get the couch fixed by my personal friend who works as a contractor. They found that the support pieces were split likely from when it was manufactured (though not certain it was from then). Once we replaced the boards we noticed another piece had no legs on it, so we had to go and purchase legs for this piece of sectional again by ourselves. All we asked for was a percentage off of the sectional since it was broken and we were not given legs for another piece. That began the real run around. Steve was increasingly more difficult to get ahold of, just told us he would make it right and then said we needed an itemized list of parts and labor for the owner and that the "owner does not usually take his word for things". So no resolution, we then begin speaking to Chloe who again was nice enough in the beginning. Our last conversation with her went like "the owner is not going to comp any of the items, they could have been damaged when they were being thrown around the U-Haul during the move (again they were strapped down with nothing on top and could not have moved), that because we purchased a floor piece they were sold as is (there was no sign for this and no one told us this prior to purchasing). Among other things, she even had my wife in tears due to her rude tone and how she was speaking to her. We have tried to resolve this for two weeks now and have only been given the run around. The owner refuses to talk to us, even having an employee tell us that he does not take phone calls from customers. He has signs that indicate 20% off or whatever and when I asked about this the sales associate said he hates the way he markets because it is misleading and it is only that price when you purchase 3,000 dollars worth of stuff. We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and would encourage everyone to shop literally anywhere else if they can. read more

Went to the Carbondale store. Spent $10,000 on new furniture. The young man that helped me was great. Travis was patient with me as I picked out all new furn!!! But that is where my joy stopped!! I got a call to schedule delivery. I told the woman I would call her on monday as our new floors were being installed. (This was sat) I called on Monday @ 10:10am had to leave a msg as no one answered. Waited all day on the delivery date... no show. Called & was told she never got the msg. Grrrr So I had to wait 3 more days. Delivery guys were wonderful. They delivered 4 dining room chairs but no table. Just wanted to grt the warning out to not trust giving any money to Ashley furniture. We paid well into 4 figures for a couch in July 2020 which we were told would be in here 8 weeks. 9 months later we have never received a single update. Everytime we call its this excuse or that excuse. After 9 months we give up and say we just want our money back. We were told over the phone we could get our refund in person at the store but when we got there, we were told it would have to be sent by their accounting dept. Since then appearantly nobody can get through to the alleged accounting dept to get an answer as to where our money is. Please spread the word do NOT spend your money here. Buyer Beware - Ashley's Furniture of Carbondale, Illinois After spending thousands of dollars saved from wedding gifts and years of hard work at Ashley's Furniture of Carbondale over 6 months ago to furnish our new home, we are still sleeping on blow-up mattresses and in agony as a result. When we placed the order, the gentleman entering it in the computer said it was telling him that the bed should be in stock by the second week in January. However, during the next follow-up call, the employee I spoke to said that the computer does not tell the employees when the items will be in stock, which means the gentleman placing the order into the computer or the employee I followed up with was lying. You would think six months is plenty of time to deliver a bed, mattress, two couches, and a dresser but obviously, for Ashley's Furniture, it is not nearly enough time since they have not delivered the bed, mattress, or second sofa. Ironically, while I am writing this review, Ashley's competitor Anderson's Furniture is running a commercial advertising same-day delivery on mattresses. I wish I would have seen that over 6 months ago. All Ashley's Furniture has delivered in the more than 6 months since our order and payment is one sofa and a dresser. When we purchased the items, which were the most expensive pieces of furniture we have ever bought since we are furnishing our new home, we were told that Ashley's Furniture would deliver pieces as they came in so we would not have to wait for everything to come in to get the early arrivals. That was not true. At Thanksgiving time, my wife and mom went into Ashley's Furniture again to look for a chair for my wife's room. They saw signs saying some of the items we ordered were in stock. No ever called us to tell us or to set up delivery as we were promised. Instead, I called a few weeks later after giving Ashley's Furniture the opportunity to fulfill the promises the salesperson gave us when we bought the items regarding delivering the items as they came in. It turns out, the dresser and two sofas, only part of our order, had been in their store for a month without anyone letting us know. If my wife had not gone back to look for a chair and I followed up to force them to deliver the items they had for over a month, would we even have those items? I think not based on the rest of our experience with Ashley's of Carbondale. So, on to our most recent call, which I believe is my 8th follow-up call to check on the status of the remaining furniture that has not been delivered in over 6 months, I was told that the computer showed that our mattress was in their warehouse 5 months ago in November. Since then, I have made 7 follow-up calls, and this is the first time they have said it was in. However, they seem to have lost it or sold it to someone else even though we have been waiting over 6 months for delivery because the lady I spoke to, an Assistant Manager who had been out for a while, said that she is concerned because it should have been delivered. She said she would call the warehouse to have the warehouse manager "put his hands on it" to make sure they have it and then get it set for delivery. I mentioned that they only deliver to Ewing, Illinois, where our new home is, on Saturdays. I told her it needs to be at our house that Saturday - two days after my call. She said she would do everything she can, including having the Owner of Ashley's Furniture of Carbondale call me to address the many issues related to their disorganization and ongoing failure to deliver items after over 6 months. The final kicker was that she told me if I canceled the order, they would charge me 30% for a restocking fee for items that they do not even have in stock after over 6 months of us waiting for our multi-thousand-dollar furniture order. So, let me get this straight, the items have not been shipped to their store, have not been shipped to me, and clearly have not been removed from their "stock." Why should I Have to pay 30%, equaling thousands of dollars, to restock something they have not unstocked from anywhere. If they had it in stock, would we have waited over 6 months for our furniture? I am calling out the horrible management, horrible customer service, and most importantly the uncaring attitude they have shown for over six months. If I were the owner of Ashley's of Carbondale, I would have called the upset client after six months of not delivering on a thousand-dollar order when my employee told the client I would be calling - I am still waiting for that call. Do not make the mistake I did by buying from Ashley's Furniture of Carbondale. I recommend you go to their competitor, Anderson Furniture, since they have a same-day delivery guarantee for mattresses and seem to care about what they do, unlike the folks at Ashley's Furniture of Carbondale, Illinois. Wish I could rate it lower. Beyond frustrating, and beyond bad customer service. Went to the outlet store, found several things- but they were unsure of delivery and stated it could ne 2-6 weeks. So we opted to go to the carbondale store, to buy something in stock- to have immediately. We were told delivery of the items totaled, would be deliver within a week. I took the day off, to receive the furniture, only to find out by the warehouse manager, that there was an issue with their trucks and the sofa set would be coming the next day. However, forgetting the necessity to stay home a second day due to that- which of course means taking a day off work- and losing pay on TOP of paying to have it delivered- They told me the table for the set- might be 2-6 weeks. They 'didn't know" I was really upset by this, obviously- as I opted to pay 30% MORE at the carbondale store, compared to the outlet store just to avoid WAITING 2-6 weeks. So paying more, for the similar items, and then being told it could be just as long a wait. I asked to speak to a manager. I was told "caleb wasn't in" I asked to speak to the owner, and was denied not only the option- but when I inquired who was in fact the owner of that particular franchise, that they 'were told they were not ALLOWED" to give out that information. I spent an hour alling various corporate numbers, only to be dismissed to a different number, 3 more times- And finally gave up. I plan on cancelling the order and although I had purchased there before, will not again. It isn't worth the stress or frustration, to spend thousands of dollars on furniture, only to be denied information. Be disallowed to file a complaint- and not having your items when you expected (and paid more to insure) And by the way, Dan Parrish is the owner of the carbondale store- if anyone needs to seek him out for further complaints. read more

Avoid buying anything from here at all costs: My wife purchased $4,200 worth of furniture from Ashley furniture in Carbondale on July 3rd 2019. Less than 6 months later, a seam started coming apart on the sectional couch that we bought. We contacted Ashley and they sent someone out to look. They said that it was a manufacturer defect and that they were going to order parts and schedule repair. Then the pandemic hit. We waited several months and Ashley never called back. So we called again. They said they had no record of what had happened before and once again scheduled a time for someone to come out and look. They came out and again came to the same conclusion... that it was a manufacturer defect and they were going to order parts and schedule repair. Once again we wait a couple of months with no call back. So we once again call and they say that they have had a lot of employee turnover and have no record of what was reported. So this time I talk to a manager. He comes out to our house personally and says that it is a manufacturer defect and he was going to try to get that section of the couck replaced or at he will at minimum get it repaired. 2 more months go by with no response. So now I'm calling trying to get a manager and all they tell me is that the manager is out. They take my name and number and the manager doesnt call me back. I've called 6 times in the last 2 weeks with no reply from the manager, or any employee. At this point I feel like they are just blowing me off. Now I have a 1 year old couch with a big tip down a seam that I can't get anyone to repair or even acknowledge. AVOID THIS ASHLEY FURNITURE AT ALL COSTS. Reschedule for Tuesday. They deliver a damaged TV Stand that has to be replaced at a later date. Two months later, Ashley's Furniture schedules delivery between 9am-11am. I call at 10am since I haven't heard from them. They've changed delivery to 10am-1pm. I dont know what is going on in their scheduling and delivery departments or their customer service...but it SUCKS. read more

I would choose zero stars if I could. We bought and paid cash, over $3000, for a love seat, sofa, oversized recliner, and a dresser on 10/13/20. We were told it would be 8-12 weeks, with an average of 10 weeks, for delivery due to the pandemic. We weren't too excited about the wait time, but understood given the state of the country right now. After 1 month, I called to check status of our order and was told it was going to be mid February 2021!! That's more like 16+ weeks instead of the 8-12 weeks we were guaranteed. It's now mid January. I called again to check status and was told we're now looking at the end of MARCH for our furniture! This is unacceptable!! If we would have known it was a 6+ month wait for our furniture, we would have taken our business elsewhere. Also, every time I've called, the associates don't really seem to care and have offered no solution. The last time I called, I was told the entire staff they had when we bought the furniture were "let go" because they were telling customers the wrong time frames for furniture delivery. Danger worst customer service. Purchased a Simmons Mattress from them within two weeks mattress began to sag. Called Ashleys took them two weeks to come look at it. They found that it had a two and a half inch dip in it. After several calls and two weeks later. I have been told that there is nothing more that they can do for me, due to the tag being removed from the mattress. I am now stuck with a $ 550.00 piece of trash. After returning a recliner that I had purchased because it felt like I was sitting on cardboard I was told that it was hard because it needed to be broken in. That is the most crazy thing I have ever heard. ( even though I sat on the same chair in the store and it was comfortable) When my refund was returned to me, I noticed that the full amount of the sales tax was not included. Dining, office, and master bedroom furniture I got within the last year and I love them. I love that I can coordinate so many rooms since I have an open concept. It's affordable and nice. At the time we were told this would be delivered in 4-6 weeks... that turned into 8weeks... and that was just for the couches.... so here we are 12 weeks later and the tables were supposed to be delivered tomorrow and we got a call today that in fact the coffee table is damaged and will have to be re-ordered and they are unsure on how long that will take to come in. My husband and I bought a table and chairs/benches from Ashley Furniture for $800 in 2010. The quality of their furniture is very poor! After they delivered the furniture, one chair was still missing and we were told it would be a couple more weeks for that chair. After a couple more weeks, we went to the store to find out when we would get our chair. The chair had never been reordered and the staff ordered it then. After 2 months we got our final chair. We had to put new screws and glue the legs to the benches in within 2 months after we got the furniture, because the screws they had used for the legs were too small. We later had to do the same thing with one of the chairs. I have bought bookshelves at Walmart for $50 that are the same quality as this table and chairs. The price of the furniture from this store is too high for the quality of the furniture. Even though the furniture is only 2 1/2 years old, we will have to buy a new table and chairs soon to replace this set. It was a total waste of money buying furniture from Ashley Furniture. We are glad that we got our couch and bed from another furniture store (even though we bought that furniture at the same time we bought the table from Ashley Furniture, the couch and bed still look new).
