This was the WORST shopping experience of my life, and that is not an exaggeration. The customer service is the worst. I placed an order with them months ago, and every time I had to contact them, they had a new manager. They have gone through at least four managers in four months. Because of this, the store is completely disorganized. When we had questions or if there was a problem we had to report, the customer service reps in the store cussed at us, laughed at us, and refused to help. They also will lie to you on the phone. Last week, I called and asked to speak to a manager. The woman who answered the phone said that he would call me back in 2-3 days. This was unacceptable, so I drove to the store, as I only live a couple minutes away. The manager was not busy, and admitted that the rep lied about him being busy so he would not have to return the call. TO TOP IT OFF, they CANCELLED my order without telling me, even though I had already paid for it all. I was waiting at my house for the delivery. My review applies to the Glen Burnie store but also the district level office. I purchased some furniture for my living room on Dec 16. It was delivered on the 22nd and placed in the basement because I was busy doing some repairs to the house I had just moved in. I moved the furniture upstairs on the 26th and noticed that the zipper for one of the cushions was busted and that the Chair for the set did not match the other two units. On the 28th, I went to the store and spoke to the GM. He asked me to send him via email a picture of the busted cushion and the mismatched chair. I did what he asked. After not getting a response from four follow up emails and three store phone calls where I left messages, I personally went to the store and spoke to the GM. He was clueless on what I was talking about. I told the manager that due to the poor customer service I received I no longer wanted the merchandise. He told me on that day that he would try to pick it up and that he would call me back that day. HE NEVER CALLED ME. I sent three follow up emails and left three more phone messages within the following week and NOBODY CALLED BACK. I decided to call the customer care at the district level and explained to them my problem. I was informed that my problem would be brought up at the District manager level. I waited for a week and NOBODY CALLED BACK. After a week, I called the District level again, this time, I was patched to the Glen Burnie Store. A different manager, other than the GM, told me that there was nothing that they could do because 72 hours after the delivery had gone by and that I had not reported my problem. This was the answer I got after trying to solve this Issue for OVER A MONTH. I understand the 72 hours rule for reporting a problem once something was delivered. With this said, some common sense must apply. 1. Merchandise was delivered to a dark basement. 2. The company claims that the furniture has a one-year warranty. I would suspect that they could have sent somebody to take care of the cushion. 3. The chair does not match the color of the other two units. Here I am writing about this almost two months, eight emails, multiple calls to the store, and two calls to the "customer care" line. I placed a credit card dispute. I am hoping that somebody at a higher level reads this and helps me out. This place is one step above a fly-by-night business. They'll have you inspect the furniture in the store before you take it home where (and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest) if you touch it, either it scratches or the paint/stain will fall off. I've had my two coffee tables for ONE DAY and they look like they are a decade old. From the beginning I was lied to when someone from the corporate store was visiting and told all the furniture is made in US, but when waiting for almost a month for my furniture I am told it because the chaise chair is coming from Japan. We ordered at the beginning of January and were told our couch and matching recliner would be delivered at the end of the month. On the 26 of January they called and pushed back our delivery date to 22 of February. We waited patiently until the 22 came around, and then we called and were told that the estimated date was the 25 of February and that if it came a day later we would be reimbursed for our delivery fee. So today, the 25 of February, we have just received a call saying the furniture would not be delivered until march 15. So we will get our delivery fee but they have made us wait a whole TWO months. And we don't have the option to cancel because we purchased during their liquidation sale. They pressured us into buying a couch because they were giving us a "good deal" and assured us that if the measurements didn't fit our living room they'd let us change the configuration of the couch because we were buying it for a house we were about to move in and we didn't have the exact measurements with us. The couch showed up and didn't fit and now they are telling us there is nothing they can do and trying to charge us more money to fix the issue even though we wrote into the contract that we could change the configuration and get a full refund. I've NEVER in my life had such a terrible experience!! COVID pandemic happening or not this is just ridiculous. I'm still waiting on furniture that I ordered in early March 2021. A dining set and couch. Every time I call the girls on the phone always tell me the following week...the following week....the following week. I called once and the girl that answered the phone even had the audacity to tell me maybe something happened with the ship because it's coming from over seas. I asked her if she could check the status and she said no they couldn't because all they do is submit the order they don't know where it goes or who it goes to. DO NOT SHOP HERE. We recently purchased furniture for our new home here. They were having a 50% off President Day Sale. The 6-8 week delivery time was perfect for us since that was the time that we would be closing on the house. Furniture was delivered the day after we closed, no problem. NOW...fast forward to the furniture being in our place for 3 weeks. The Pebble accent chair has started "pilling" or getting fuzz balls on it. We were back at the store to purchase something else, and mentioned it to the girl who checked us out, and she immediately placed a claim for the warranty dept. A few days later they finally called, asked for pictures of the chair which I emailed immediately. The next day a lady called and said they had come to the decision that the chairs problem was NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR??? SERIOUSLY, the chair has not been sat in more than 7 hours, it's only been in the house for 3 weeks. they said there was nothing that they would do. We asked for a manager to call the next day, she said ok. Waited, next day nothing, so we called the store and talked to one of the manager's Marlene I believe was her name. She said that she would have someone call within 72 hours, nothing. Called Marlene back today, told her we were disputing the price of the chair with our credit card company, she said that SAM would call us today, well now its 10:30pm and he never bothered to call. SO....we will let Chase take care of it. Their warranty is not worth using for TOILET PAPER. We have another order that was previously placed before the problem, and if this isn't rectified before that comes in, we won't be accepting the delivery. Really bad experience with Ashley HomeStore. We purchased new family room and dining room table set on September 5th. We were told that delivery would be 4 to 16 weeks. I had not heard anything at all after 12 weeks, so I called to inquire about when furniture might be delivered as this was a Christmas gift Kim and I planned for each other. I could not get anyone at the store to answer the phone so I called customer service and was told the new delivery date would be February 22, 2022. I told them this was unacceptable as our contract 16 weeks not 24 weeks. I had to drive to the store to cancel my order and was refunded the amount minus a 10% cancellation fee. My advice, never shop at Ashley HomeStore. They don't operate in good faith and the customer service is terrible. We will go elsewhere for new furniture and deal with what we have for now. Purchased a sectional couch, they only delivered the sofa section, no chaise lounge. The delivered couch would not fit the shape of our room, because of the error in what was ordered by the sales person. We did not accept delivery, when no one could provide date for the correct sectional to be delivered, we cancelled our order, currently being told they want a 30% re-stocking fee to cancel our order. Bought a sectional sofa within 24 hours after delivery the sofa broke, spring on the loveseat fell out underneath the sofa. Also, the layout of the sofa was incorrect (chaise on left side vs right). The sales representative told us that the sectional is reversable. When the sofa arrived it was an issue. I am 100% aware of the miscommunication and I should have been aware of the right and left issue, however while the furniture is broke I've requested a replacement and correction. I was told that I have to pay 150.00 for the pickup of the broke furniture and they will drop off a correct layout with replacement sofa for that fee. I felt that since the furniture is broken, they should have resolved it by just replacing the sofa altogether. Dustin Parker the store manager said I had to pay for the pick up. I called their customer service corporate office and they routed me back to Dustin because the store operates independently. The store manager is always in some conference call or meetings- he didnt have time to take my call to work out the issue. While the situation is getting old days passing, I was just forced to pay for a damage sofa to be picked up and resolve. I was fustrarted and mentioned to Dustin Parker this will be my last purchase from Ashley and I will take my business to Marlo. Dustin told me they own Marlo as if he didnt care to resolve the issue- horrible manager no customer service stay away! The company is a scam, low budget furniture. I suggest to pay the extra money go somewhere else... Do a lot more research before buying... Price may look good but customer service and quality may not be as good as you think. read more

We came to Ashley Furniture in Glen Burnie in hopes of finding the TV stand that we found on AFS online. We were kindly greeted by Cory at the door and he asked what we were looking for and allowed us to browse the store by ourselves after showing us in the direction of the entertainment centers. He checked in with us after we had made our way around the store but unfortunately did not find the TV stand we were looking for (each store may not carry same stock as you will find online). We mentioned that we will be in the market for a new mattress in a few months also and asked if he would show us their stock. Cory led us to the mattress showroom and educated us on the different brands and styles of mattresses and what we will find from each. He is very knowledgeable and patient as we lay on at least half a dozen beds and he talked to us about each one. He helped us decide on the best mattress for us, not for his commission and we ended up leaving with the paperwork for our brand new Beautyrest mattress! We were even able to delay the delivery until we are ready to have it brought into our home in July. I'm sure all of the associates are pleasant and helpful, but when you go to AFS in Glen Burnie, ask for Cory and you will be very happy you did. I walked in the store yesterday with a friend, who's helping me shop for a bed, two sofas, and dressers for my new home. When we walked in the store, we were not greeted and as we walked through the store trying out the sofas and decor, store associates actually walked by us, gathering in the back. One man actually got close to us and fluffed pillows as if he was watching us. we left after about 15-20 minutes. Too bad no one paid attention to us, I spent $3400 at another furniture store later that day. I wish I could give them negative stars. I wish I had read the reviews before going here. I've used other Ashley Furniture's in other states but this one is shady and unreliable to say the least. We ordered our furniture in early November and it still has yet to be delivered. I call to follow up and get put on hold until I get hung up on or the "manager" never seems to be available. They've made three delivery attempts and each time have delivered the wrong items! We sit there with the delivery people with our invoice in hand and the item numbers they are delivering and it's completely incorrect. No one in the store seems to care or do anything to try to help us. The customer service is awful. No one cares there. In store sales agent is okay. The delivery, and dispatch of this organization is poor. I ordered my items on 16 and 18 February 2018. Told them I was military, and I lived on a military installation. Asked if they were able to deliver, I was told yes. Fast forward to March 28, 2018 the date of delivery, and was called an hour before delivery to say, none of their drivers have clearance. My husband and I were attended by Abdul at this store and had ana amazing experience! Being that we just got married and were moving into our townhome with no furniture we needed all the help we could get. We left Ashley's Furniture Store for last since it was further away from us. We visited two more stores before going to Ashley's and were dismayed to find out that it would be weeks or months before we could get our furniture delivered. Upon arrival, Abdul was quick to greet us and ask us what we we were looking for. After telling him I wanted a particular bedroom set, he knew they had similar styles in stock. He showed us the bedroom set and we immediately fell in love with it. Abdul worked with us to give us an extra discount aside from the promotion they already had going on. He essentially helped us pick out our dining room and living room set as well. He was willing to pull pieces from the floor together so that I could visually see if the pieces would match and go together. We left relieved, stress free and to think that we equipped our whole house from one stop at a store. We had the furniture promptly delivered in great conditions with installation included! I bought a living room set from the store in Glen burnie maryland, I only had a leather couch for less than a year when the so called leather wore off the couch. I contacted the store since my furniture was under warranty. First time I was told to send pic to the service department. I sent pic didn't hear from them. Contacted store three other times. Once was told I was speaking to the office manager sent her a pic. I was told would hear from them in three to five business days. Surprise never heard from them. Made two more phone calls then was told seven to ten days. Surprise no return call. Called two more times no return call. I wouldn't buy anything from this store. Huge mark up on furniture, the recliner I got in the store was listed at over $800 and the salesman acted like he gave me a deal at about half that price. Come to find out about a month later that the recliner is listed at under $300 normally. Sales women claims they price match if it is mentioned in store. Perhaps worse than that the furniture is very uncomfortable, and I am 100% convinced it is not the same as the models I sat in and thought I purchased. Had I sat in the furniture that is in my house felt the way it felt in the store there is no way in a million years I would ever make the purchase. I ordered a bedroom set during the President's day weekend. The salesman was very good. The furniture was scheduled for delivery this morning (3/31). When the delivery team arrived at our home and tried to assemble the furniture, they did not have all of the parts for the bed. My husband refused the order because we just did not have the capacity to deal with follow up etc. for an incorrect order and a partially assembled bedroom set in the middle of our floor. All of this while completing the construction on our house (rebuild of our home destroyed by fire) would needlessly complicate our lives. You would think in 6 weeks time the furniture order would be accurate. The delivery team called the warehouse and were told to get the required parts from Home Depot. This turned out to be a rouse to keep my husband from refusing the order. After two hours of waiting in a vacant home because it is under construction, I called the store in Glen Burnie and I was instructed to call the warehouse. When I called the warehouse they placed me on hold until the call terminated because of the length of the hold. When I called back they would not answer. I called the store back and was told that they could not reach the warehouse either and they would call me back with the resolution. About another hour later I was told that they would not be resolving the issue today and the part would be ordered. When the part comes in, the technician would complete the set up. At this point it was clear that they had lied to keep my husband from refusing the delivery. I called the store back and asked for the manager. The receptionist informed me that the manager was starting her break and could not come to the phone but that she had said that I could not return the furniture without a 30% restocking fee and $150 pick up charge. I will never again do business with Ashley nor would I recommend them to anyone else. They will pick up their furniture and I will not be paying anything. This is not a situation of my making and I will not be treated as if it is. I was prepared to have a reasonable dialogue but the service is just horrendous. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

When I called back the number that scheduled the delivery, they said they didn't handle my region. The store number either says not in service or hangs up after 2 rings so here I am with a broken Chaise, waiting on a $500 console that I don't even know if it is being delivered and am writing here in hopes that maybe someone will contact me! I will NEVER purchase anything from this store again. Terrible experience and worst customer service ever. I purchased a sectional on June 24,2019. Everything was in stock and delivery was set for July 13, 2019. The day before delivery I called to confirm the time and make sure everything was going to be delivered. I was told only 2 out of the 5 pieces were going to be delivered. No explanation of why. I called 4 times that day to speak with the manager and every time I called they were busy and would not call me back. I had to go to the store to get answers. When i arrived the manger basically did nothing to help. Told me he would set up the rest of my delivery for Thursday July 18 and that was it. No apologies. Thursday comes around and the rest of my set is delivered. However one of the pieces is missing its legs. Spoke with customer service; they noted my account and said i would hear something in 24-48 hours. 4 days later i call the store because i hadn't heard anything and they said it will be another 24-48 before i heard anything else. No one had any answers. Wanted to speak to the manger. They were not in. Manger was supposed to call me back. STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE MANGER!!!!! I have called 3 times and they are always busy. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. When I asked for a refund, i was told no. This store is a joke. A week after my delivery I still not have the legs to the rest of my couch and no answers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I actually signed up for YELP Just to let everyone know how TERRIBLE this store is. Spent over $2,000 worth of furniture - got it delivered and the delivery guys broke my window. That part I don't mind, accidents happen, but the store is REFUSING to have it fixed. They actually said "THEY WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT". They claim they have NO record of my call reporting the damage, and therefore will not fix it because it was not reported same day. UNBELIEVABLE. There is not return policy and the managers have not called me back and I have left several messages. I was a perfectly happy customer who they have turned into a completely angry customer who will never shop there again and will tell everyone they know to do the same. Do not allow your salespeople; correction, con artists, to run the show. I use the word show because that is exactly what it is. You have curtains closed so the disorganized store appears to be in excellent standing. Don't even get me started on the orders you ship out. Can you believe the audacity to not ship legs to a couch? Seems pretty important if you ask me in order to finish a piece of furniture that was not cheap. Speaking of cheap. Did you know they will honor your coupons in store but then charge you full price once you leave? Worst experience ever! We spent near $3,000 in this store. Waited a few weeks for delivery. When my daughter's bedset was delivered it was damanged. The store manager Kayla indicated that they could repair it OR send another one in a few weeks which is unacceptable close to the holidays. She was very rude and acted as if she could care less about the furniture being damaged and us being unhappy with the experience. On top of this issue the delivery personnel did not come with booties for their shoes and refused to take off their shoes to set up the furnture in our brand new home. I am very disappointed with the service of this establishment and this is exactly WHY we are heading right back over to Pottery Barn Kids & Pottery Barn and spending that extra buck to have better quality items and service. Here is my last review about Ashley Furniture Store. Let me be very clear. The ONLY reason this review is getting 5 stars is bc of the Store Manger Annisha at the Glen Burnie location , the sales manager Anthony, my salesman Abdul, and the financing team at the Glen Burnie location. Display excellent customer service. They truly go above and beyond to keep the customers happy (Anthony). Thank you, Thank you! We, of course cancelled our purchases. Against my interest we end up selecting something else. Only bc of the level of excellent customer service. But AFS corporate office and Warehouse personal . You all are horrible. The owner of AFS, I highly recommend you provide some sort of training to your corporate and Warehouse personal. More importantly, maybe you should follow behind Haverty's, and use and hire your own AFS delivery team vs contract out. But seriously, AFS owner, you are the owner, everything reflects back to you and your upper management bc its your policy and procedures . Maybe you should consider revision. On your delivery policy and procedures. You should do something about your corporate customer care team. The horrible experience I had with AFS came from corporate and warehouses. When my hubby and I called about our delivery experience. Items not fitting into the elevator and delivery not allowed pass the 3rd floor. When hubby was coming up with other alternatives to get my furniture to the 7th floor. And your customer service team said to my hubby, ""if you really want delivery to the 7th floor, why don't take the furniture and take up the 7 flight of stairs yourself". Later, when I called myself and she told me the samething. Then she (customer care) going to tell me ,delivery took pictures it won't fit. So I am not sure what you want us to do. You are more than welcome to pick up from the warehouse yourself and deliverer it yourself. I was pissed off. Than tell me re delivery is 150.00 or 10% cancellation fee to cancel and get something else. If the items didn't fit the 1st time!!!! AFS what you fail to understand consumers don't need you all, to do business with. Its too many other furniture stores to do business with Haverty's, Overstock, Lazy Boy, Wayfair, you get the point.
