For an organization that represents such high-end Ashley furniture, I couldn't have been more ashamed of the owner's performance. My wife and I spent over 8k refurnishing our home over Thanksgiving (2025). Their advertisement promised free Televisions to customers who spent over $1,000. When looking for Ashley furniture in Port Charlotte, we compared it to the exact same Ashley furniture from our previous home in Colorado. We showed them the quote and asked if they could match the price. They couldn't, and were several hundred dollars higher, but we were impressed with our salesman and decided to go with them anyway. When we completed our sale, we asked when we could pick up the promised television. He then let me know that since we asked for a price match, which they didn't do, we were no longer able to get a TV. I asked to speak with the owner, which I did. He also stated that we were not going to get a TV. I stopped him in the conversation and said, "We aren't really in the least bit interested in a TV. We already have more than we need. But I was interested in the character of the promise given. We spent over 8k and were promised something that was not kept. It goes to the character of an organization. The owner then said, "I'll tell you what... We'll give you a $100 visa card, which we'll give you when we deliver your nice new furniture." The furniture was delivered without the 2nd promise being kept. I really don't need the $100 either, and I would have given it away to someone who needed it. The owner clearly didn't care about me, the end user/client. He was extremely rude and obnoxious. Overall, I would never recommend this company to anyone who expects Ashley Furniture/Port Charlotte to keep its word or back its product. The manufacturer will, but this company won't! read more

We purchased what we thought was a quality mattress. The sales associate convinced us that the Ashley mattress was the best brand. Pretty sure now that Ashley gave bonus' to push their mattress brand. My husband is a disabled vet. He has a bad back so having a firm mattress is paramount. My husband was virtually crippled when he woke up. It buckles when you sit on it. I question if it's even the same mattress we tested. Went to Ashley and they told us after 28 days, no return. The sales associate at Ashley said if it was another mattress brand it would have come with a 90 day warranty. Would have been nice to know that. Unbelievable that we are now shopping for another mattress. I'm furious. This is bad business. Especially to a disabled vet. read more

I recently visited the Ashley showroom in Port Charlotte. I am looking to furnish a new home I purchased. I had seen a few things on line that I wanted to see in person. I walked around the show room numerous times. Although there were many salespeople standing around, not one person approached me for help. I left and won't be back. I did go to another furniture store and purchased over $14000 of furniture. It's amazing how having a salesperson to show you around is so helpful. read more

We were there a couple of months ago. It's merged along with bacon furniture. I had heard of Ashley, so checked it out and was introduced to bacon really nice combination these two stores. Javier assisted us over three days and made a pretty good purchase. Delivery service was great and the deals they have because they need to clear. The floor for remodel was nice. Meh. Don't bother. We were there to refurnish our entire condo that had been trashed by Ian. They didn't have the couch we wanted but told us we could call other stores. I asked if she could do it while we were there, and was told no, they are a franchise and don't talk to the other stores. So, we left not purchasing all the other furniture we needed since we were going to have to go to another store anyway. Had she called around and found us the couch, we would have bought the other items there, but I certainly wasn't going to give a commission on what I expected to be at least a 20k purchase to someone who couldn't make a phone call. Then, I wrote an email to them explaining what happened and suggested they might want to revise their "don't help the customer" policy. They never even bothered to respond. Bought a leather recliner for $1,500 right about 1 year later the back at the headrest area started peeling a lot , the store sent someone out to take pictures, then a couple months later I called, they then decided it was past the 1 year warranty so they wouldn't replace the back. We had purchased the extended warranty so I called that company , after months of going back and forth they said it was from NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, really? this is my husbands chair , he doesn't use hairspray or anything in his hair , this is from crappy leather but we payed a lot of money , I will never buy any leather furniture from them , the spot is still getting bigger , about 5 inches round , looks horrible, I wish I could post a picture on here. I see other people haven't had a good experience here either. Not surprised. I went to the store to buy a new coffee table. I found something that I thought would match our TV stand and would work in the space. Well, it didn't. I called the store the next day and said I wasn't happy with it and asked what my options were. They said bring it back we can exchange for something else in the store or online. I was happy to hear that. I arrived at the store the next and explained the situation to the sales person that greeted me and the office/desk area. I told them I had found a table online and would like to purchase that. The sales rep said I could not do that so they called the manager who was a condescending arrogant jerk. I was clearly an inconvenience to him. He never made eye contact with me or greeted me. He spoke to me like I was an idiot and said, "You saw the coffee table on the floor right? You saw the color and size there right?" I said yes but once I got it home it didn't match and was too large for the space. I said I found something online that I'd like instead (and cost more money). He said we are not affiliated with the online Ashely furniture. What? You're store name is Ashley Furniture. I suppose this comment meant he and his staff didn't get some sort of commission? He went on about a restocking fee and I said fine whatever. The table will not work for us so it doesn't change that I want to exchange it. What I wanted to say to him is my husband is disabled from a stroke and walks with a cane. The table was too big for him to be able to get around to his spot on the sectional couch and it was too low. But I didn't because I shouldn't have to explain anything to him in the first place. I will never shop this store again and will tell everyone I know how awful they are. The sales people swarm you and the male manager horrible. Go anywhere else than here. read more

Run Forest Run........No stars, purchased couch delivered with a hole in it. looks like a first grader put the couch together. Most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever sat on. To boot they charged me delivery fee to bring it to my house and now they want to charge me 150 dollars as restocking fee because I don't want this uncomfortable couch. My suggestion to you is go shopping elsewhere, anywhere but Ashley's Furniture especially Ashley's Port Charlotte. read more

Don't walk, run away from this place. I purchased a sectional that was not made correctly and had deformed cushions. I had purchased the protection plan for $219.00 with Safeware through Ashley. After a year and a half after having my claim submitted and approved I was told by Safeware that I would be credited for the item because the Port Charlotte Ashley failed to correct my issue. They used the hurricane as an excuse but this was an ongoing issue long before the hurricane. All I was asking for was a few new cushions with new fabric. This would have cost me nothing. Low and behold, the same item in appearance (the Luxora) was now almost twice as much and had a new sku (very convenient based on all the bad reviews for the same thing I experienced) The owner acted like he was doing me a favor to sell it to me at a reduced rate costing me an additional $424.00 in addition to the $219 I paid for the insurance. Once I received the new item it was apparent that the chaise lounge chair issue not being the proper size, an issue which i called about when I first received the original had been corrected on the new sku sectional. So not only was the premature cushion deformation an issue but my complaint about the chaise after delivery was correct. I was told that it was normal for it not to fit correctly and for there to be a huge gap. I covered it with a deco pillow but it was not right and should have been replaced then. I have all of my photos, videos and correspondence to submit my formal complaint with corporate office, update my CFPB (the only reason my issue was escalated with Safeware) and the BBB. When they sell you the insurance policy they make a verbal claim "If your item can't be repaired, it will be replaced", they don't add the caveat that it will cost you additional money. Safeware also forced me to do business with this same company. It was not like I was given the option to take the credit amount offered and shop elsewhere. I was forced to deal with this store and now I plan to let everyone know about my experience. I really hope the $424 was worth it. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We purchased a king size bed which included everything, the headboard, side rails, slats, drawers underneath. It was delivered August 12th by our local Ashley Furniture store & the headboard is warped, & the slats underneath do not properly support our brand new mattress. The top end of our mattress is literally hanging down towards the floor & there's a dip in the middle underneath our brand new mattress. We are not overweight people. To try to sleep on this assembled mess is horrible. There's no support underneath our new mattress. The bed is made of compressed fiberboard, not actual wood. The slats underneath are junk. We paid extra for their no hassle delivery & assembly. I called my local Port Charlotte store on August 15th to complain, & we are now looking at over 2 weeks just to have someone come out & take pictures of this mess & inspect it. What does that tell you? Obviously I'm not the only customer with a complaint about their furniture. Huge disappointment for the kind of money we spent on this. I wanted to order a Darcy sleeper sofa online and tried for two days without success. Something was wrong with the website. While looking for a Home Depot in the Port Charlotte area, I ran across the Ashley Homestore and decided to try my luck there. I was greeted right away by Jay Michael and taken to the Darcy sleeper sofa to be sure that was the one I wanted. He was able to order the sofa for me in the color I wanted and when I mentioned I would be ordering several mattresses in the box for a trundle bed a little later, he advised me to pay a Bunkie board for the trundle so that the mattress would last longer. Jay was great. Very friendly and personable. All the staff at Ashley are friendly and I would go there again rather then bother with the website. Love that place. Horrible Horrible experience at this store. This was my 2nd time coming to this store hoping their customer service would be better. Bought a book shelf in September they said I would have it in November, called in November and they said I would have it by February. I stopped by the store to see if book shelf was on time for arrival, they stated oh not til May. REALLY! lady at front counter was rude we cant help it she said, GM lady Marylee did not offer any help either except to say we are independently owned Im sorry. Ive spent a lot of money at Ashley Furniture in NEVADA (love the Nevada store) Northport sales people and front desk agents are not friendly and I will NEVER EVER spend any money at that store again and will NEVER refer anyone to that store. We had a real problem with Ashley's recently. We went in and purchased 2 side chairs, a small side table and a lamp. At that time we we told they didn't have it in stock, but if we were patient it would be in shortly, no more than 2 weeks. We thought that would be ok and that we had to get rid of the old furniture. When delivery time came around and we'd gotten rid of our old furniture they told me that it would be in Friday and we can pick it up late Friday or Saturday. When Friday can around guess what - NO furniture. Now they tell me it will be in the 16th of December. I begin to complain and they offered me a $50 gift card to buy more furniture. I begin to think about it and ask for a definite delivery of the 16th. We'll here we go again " the 16th is ship date and it won't be here till the 23rd". So now I have and empty room and 8 weeks to get a couple of pieces of furniture. I went in and complained and got money back, of course they gave me a check so on top of all the trouble I had to go to the bank to deposit it my luck it'll bounce. I guess you can guess I'll never shop there again and I will always always tell everyone I know about this experience. read more

We recently purchased a brand new kitchen table, four chairs and a matching bench from the Ashley Home Store located at 17701 Murdock Circle Port Charlotte, FL. Within a week of it being delivered the table, bench and one of the chair's were scratched. The table was scratched when my daughter's bracelet rubbed against the table top and my dog put his front paws on it. The bench was scratched after someone sat on it. Subsequently, the table now has several other scratches on it. I think that if the table was made out of cheese cloth, it would have held up better than the wood this table is made of. This put us in the unfortunate position of having to deal the Sales Manager Ken Garofolo and Maralee the store's office manager. Maralee initially advised us to contact Safeware their insurance company, which we did. After receiving photos of the damage Safeware said they would only cover one scratch not multiples. They determined that with all the scratches it was a manufacture's deflect and we needed to contact the store. I should also note here that I called the store several times in an attempt to get a resolution to this matter. Each time I asked to speak to Maralee and each time I was told that she was in a meeting and she would return my call after the meeting concluded, but she NEVER did. My wife also left several messages for the Sales Manager Ken Garofolo. Eventually, he did call her back after receiving several messages over a number of days. On 8/06/19 he told her, depending on what Safeware decides regarding the claim that he might allow us to exchange the kitchen table, chairs and bench for something else of equal value and we were fine with that but we had to go through them first. Today (08/17/19) we went into the store to speak in person to the sales manager. He immediately became argumentative towards my wife and I. When we tried to explain that the furniture was defective and all we wanted was to exchange it for something else like he had suggested on the phone, but he kept repeating that they weren't responsible since the dog touched the table. He also attempted to weasel his way out of dealing with this by claiming that the owner Jeff Bacon had already made the decision not to exchange the furniture so it was out of his hands. If you're looking to buy furniture don't make the same mistake we did by coming to this store, find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money. The store's sales staff & management are all nice and friendly so they can get the sale and commission, after that they forget who you are. They will smile as you walk in and turn around and screw you over when you walk out. FYI, Jeff Bacon if you read this post it might behoove you to have one of your store "meetings" and explain the concept of "customer service" to your employees. read more

If you are considering purchasing Ashley furniture I would suggest you decline paying any premium for an extended warranty as in their Safeware Protection Program.It is quite expensive and the service is unacceptably slow (2 months). Among the furniture we purchased was a rather expensive recliner with two motors. The electronics failed in less than six months nand when we called Ashley they said they couldn't do anything just call a number for the after service company, Safeware. We did and first they said they'd get back to us. After two weeks they hadn't and we called again and said they had too busy to call us back. When we described the problem they said they would have to schedule an initial service call then a follow up call after the repair parts were order. The first call was scheduled out 4 weeks! When we complained about having a recliner stuck in the reclined position for almost tow months they said sorry but they were too busy to get to it any sooner. We were so angry we took the recliner apart ourselves and order repair parts on line (Amazon) and fixed the recliner at our expense.
