Do not buy from this store. We bought a durablend sectional five years ago. About 8 months ago, the fabric started cracking, peeling, and flaking. We called the store right before the warranty ended. Could they replace or reupholster the cushions? No, of course not. Not covered by the warranty. (Apparently, sitting on the couch is not covered by the warranty.) Anyway, we offered to buy new cushions of they were available, but no. Nothing they could do, sorry. We spent over a grand on this piece of furniture; it would have nice if it had lasted more than five years. It also would have been nice if customer service had made the least little effort to help us out, but no dice there. So, it's off to a landfill...even Goodwill wouldn't take it b/c of the rotten condition it was in. I'm glad everyone else in this site had a pleasant experience in the store; we did, too. But when it came time to deal with the low quality of what they'd sold us, suddenly the sunny dispositions evaporated. You'd like to think that spending $1,000 would get you some help, but apparently Ashely is not that kind of store. We will not be shopping there again. Btw, just so you know our experience wasn't unique: friends of ours bought the exact same couch from Ashley right around the same time we did. They just bought a new one from Macy's. I think what I like best about these stores is the selection of furniture, the interior decorators, some of the reasonably priced accessories, and the employees when they are friendly, helpful and polite. What I did not appreciate was having furniture delivered to my house that was cosmetically defective. To resolve the situation, the company sent me replacements with the same problem but in different places. They replaced it about 3-4 times until we both got tired of the situation. As a final resort, they sent out a technician who did a pretty good job at painting over the defects, was rude at times and related to me that I was the problem instead of their shoddy products. I even felt the subtle ridicule from the salesperson. The only reason I can think of that I didn't request a refund was that I was expecting out-of-town visitors. Structurally, I haven't experienced any defects. But if you inspect the outer appearance of the furniture, the paintings and the lamps, you might think they were slapped together by a bunch of uncaring amateurs. read more

I recently bought multiple items at the South County, MO location. I was more than satisfied with my sales assistant Leslie! She was amazing! Even though I had a hard time making a decision she stayed more patient and was really helpful! I ended up buying a sectional, a coffee table, a dinning room set and a media chest. The delivery was on time on the arranged date and everything worked out great. Later I noticed that there was a small tear on one of the chairs and that there was a scratch on the glass of coffee table, so I called customer service and both pieces are on the way to be replaced. Even though that was a small inconvenience for me, customer service took great care of it and I will definitely buy at Ashley Furniture again. Overall I had a great experience. read more

Any store that gives out vouchers for doorbuster deals in the middle of the afternoon is horrible. And then giving out vouchers early and letting people get out of line is also horrible. The manager was largely uninterested in making HIS MISTAKE in giving out vouchers early, really early right. Poor quality, even worse customer service! Tired of wasting my time the old fashioned way on the phone. Am now resorting to Facebook, Twitter and Yelp. Someone please help! I bought four living room tables from Ashley Furniture on 1/19/15, paid for assembly and delivery on 2/10/15. Two of the four tables were delivered scratched, dented and beat up. There is hardly any 'wood finish' on the coffee table. The delivery guys told us they would replace them immediately. Well, it's been 17 days, countless phone calls and unreturned messages, hours spent on hold and I still have two cheap, crappy tables and have not been contacted by anyone. I wish I could give no stars.. We are a military family that had to move because of new orders. We placed a large order in St. Louis. A sectional, a king mattress, king frame and two box springs. We picked up at the south county location. The staff who loaded the truck said we didn't need to double check our order because the scanner wouldn't scan if he scanned the wrong item. 9 hour drive later to our new home, we found that 1. The sectional couch we ordered was backwards from what we signed off on, and the box spring for the king didn't include two twins. It included one twin and one queen, leaving a large gap in between the two. I called and Ashley told me there was nothing they could do. I fought back stating what I paid for and signed off on was not what was loaded. The woman on the phone told me there were no locations in Louisiana. She proceeded to tell me I signed off and it was a done deal. I contacted them again stating there was a location here and gave the address and phone number. I said the least you can do is give me my money back. A month later Ashley furniture in Louisiana calls and says they can deliver me a new correct box spring at no cost. Today they delivered the piece and removed the wrong piece that St. Louis mistakenly gave us and refused to handle. While it may just be a box spring, it was preventing us to sleep in a bed. My significant other, having been out of the country on military orders needed a bed to sleep in when he got home. Thank you to Ashley of Pontechula for fixing St. Louis' mistake. Furniture peeling and flaking and they are saying the manufacture warranty is expired so we are just screwed. It was less than 5yrs old, we had the extended warranty and we contacted them back in June and they are just now telling us there is nothing they can do. Is there any help out there???? I have purchase a sofa from them and they said they can deliver in 2 months. And when I got home I decided I cant wait that long so I called (like 20 times, hours of waiting) to just get my order cancelled. They said I should expect a refund in 2 weeks (4 weeks ego). I called them 4 times today, took about 3 hours of talking. In the first call, after making me listen to some continuous annoying advertisement for 30 minutes, the finally answered. But nobody was talking to me. They were taliking to each other. I listen to them for 20 more minutes before I hung up. For my second call, I called the corporate number, after waiting 25 minutes they transfered me to a company called Mathis brothers in Oklahoma City which has nothing to do with where I live. The store I purchased from was in Ballwin, MO. In my third attempt (25 minutes of waiting), I got a lady that was actually a little helpful. She created a ticket and send it to the store. Of course, I did not trust them. I had to keep calling and I finally get the store that I made the purchase from. A nice lady helped me and started the refund process. She told me that the corparate cancelled the item and never let the store know. I had no reason no to believe her. Now I wait, the nightmare is not over yet. This shopping exprience by far was the worst for me. I will never shop from Ashley store ever. They are so nice until they get your money and after that they will ignore you. If you like talking to random people on the phone for hours and hours you might like Ashley stores. Now I asked myself, if a company does this to their customers, god knows how bad the quality of their product might be. So they will only waste your time. If you think they have good quility products, think again. I will strongly object that. Also, I just noticed that I am not the only one having such issues. It is their every other customer (just check the reviews here). We should form a union or something and leave reviews everywhere online, I know I am doing this. Really poor service - think twice before buying. I purchased a sofa, which was damaged when I took delivery. I've spoken to their customer service department three times. Someone is supposed to be calling me to schedule a repair appointment, but no one ever does. I escalated this to a store manager, who was very nice, but the issue is still not resolved. His records shows someone tried calling me 3 times to schedule a repair (of course he can't tell me what number they've tried calling), but no one has called. He's submitting a ticket again to get a technician scheduled to repair my sofa. Hopefully fourth time is a charm and someone calls me to repair my sofa. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend Ashley because this has just been too much of a hassle. read more

I bought an amazing couch set from Ashley. It was reasonably priced and great quality. Before I purchased the set, I asked the saleswoman about delivery. I have a very narrow door and narrow staircase and was worried about it being able to fit. I told her the door was 30" and she measured the couch at 29." Since I don't sell or deliver furniture, I believed her when I was told it would fit through the door. Logically, 29" should fit through a 30" door, even though it would be a tight fit. When they showed up to deliver the couches, I was told they wouldn't fit. I immediately returned to Ashley to find a new couch. I told them I would take anything that was in my price range (they had several couches within my budget). Unfortunately, they were unable to find anything for me that was smaller. After telling me this, they then refused to give me my money back. I had to fight with the store manager for several minutes before he agreed to offer a refund. Their business practice is fraudulent, especially since I specifically asked about it fitting through my doorway before I purchased the item and was explicitly told, "yes." Next time I'm looking for furniture, I will make sure to go elsewhere. I'm so disappointed with this experience and definitely won't be shopping with them again. read more

Moving into my first home was a harrowing experience due to duplicity on the part of the seller/agent. I was stressed and exhausted by the time i walked into Ashley and all I wanted was a small sectional for my living room to replace the duct taped futon I'd been using as a couch the last 8 years. Brenda Brooks greeted me with a smile and free real estate advice. She also knows her furniture. She led me efficiently around the show room and listened to my feedback on each piece until she said "I've got it. I know the perfect piece," and sure enough, she led me right to the small sage sofa I am sitting on as I type this. It was delivered today, smoothly and professionally by delivery guys who called ahead and kindly moved my old futon into the other room so I wouldn't scuff up my wood floors trying to do it myself. Bot a matching sofa and recliner here two years ago. The sofa is holding up, but the recliner--which I use most--started splitting just a year after I bought. The upholstery is called durable do I think--a synthetic leather blend. When I say split, I mean the padding underneath was exposed. Out of warranty, so I filed a claim with the insurance they sold me. I thought the first rip might be a puncture caused by a maintenance man or something. When another showed up, it was clearly wear and tear and my claim was denied. Two years later this thing has dozens of splits and is becoming unusable. Definitely not worth $400. read more

I purchased a recliner that I happen to be allergic to something in the fabric. They did say I could exchange it for something else but only had one chair in the store that was a different fabric than the one I had purchased and it did not fit my particular need. They tell me all they can do is for me to keep waiting until they get something into the store that will work for me. So I am left paying for a chair that I do not have. I can not believe that customer service is this bad. The people at the Florissant store are very nice but that doesn't help me with my not having a chair until they get something in that will work for me. The worst furniture buying experience that I have had. The manager got an attitude because I don't want the fabric protection plan . The salesman got an attitude because I didn't want delivery. I also asked did they every offer better sales deals I was told no by the salesman, I found that this was a lie.Also no one bothered to give me the location of the furniture distribution center for pickup. My husband and I went to Ashley for a new bedroom set and couch for our new home. The couch was delivered on time as well as all of our bedroom furniture except for the dresser. The dresser was on back order for 3 months. They did not tell us this up front (per the manager, they were supposed to let us know if anything was on backorder when purchasing a piece of furniture). Once we finally had a delivery time set for the dresser, I waited for hours for them to come. I even called them to make sure they were coming, they said they were running late but said they would be there. They never delivered the dresser, no call, no show. To make up for all of the frustrations (several other issues that I didn't mention) they said they would return our delivery fee. Well it's been over a month and I still don't have that return. In the middle of all this, the store manager also said that she would call me Monday after they never showed up with our dresser to sort of what happened with the delivery (because this happened on a Saturday), but I never heard from her so I called the store and she was out of town. They have horrible management there, the store manager is not helpful and it took us days of calling the store before they could even figure out what happened and locate our dresser so it could be delivered. Not to mention that one of the zippers on our couch broke after having it for a month. Extremely disappointed in the customer care and quality of the furniture. read more

Very upset customer! I purchased my kids a bedroom sets with mattress. The mattress had a defect in them both, ones a Queen set with Full set. Contacted customer services and they sent a guy out took pictures OK fine, this was in November it took Ashley Furniture another month to replace the mattress set!The mattress sunk in on one side. They delivery guys told me these mattress has a defect. Finally when the guy comes out they only bring the mattress without the box springs. The delivery guy took pictures and stated he was sorry, and hopefully they will replace the box springs. It took Ashley furniture another three weeks for them to return my calls. I contacted customer service and told them that the new mattress are sinking down by the time I receive the box spring they will need to replace the mattress again. It's now February they only sent me a new box springs. I was informed that Ashley furniture do not have a customer complaint number I can only speak to CSR, The email address they gives you no one returns emails. I will not shop with Ashley ever again! They removed my first review because I told exactly how I was treated by this company. This store is horrible. The manager is rude and will not address a woman if a man is there he can speak to instead. After delivery of 3 cracked headboards. I finally cancelled the order. The delivery people threw the old mattress in my yard and drove off after I refused the first cracked and scratched headboard. They left the gate open and both if my dogs ran away. The quality of their furniture is poor to say the least and they will lie to you every tme they open their mouths. We went to Ashley Furniture to purchase an inexpensive frame and headboard to use while waiting for our home back east to sell and our furniture to subsequently be shipped to us. Our salesman (Mitch) was absolutely fantastic, taking his time with us and helping us to not only find a good deal on what we needed, but also in helping us to select additional pieces so that we have a comfortable environment to live in while waiting for our home to sell. Many sales people can be very pushy, but Mitch was wonderful as he allowed us to explore the store without being aggressive or trying to pressure us into purchasing expensive or unneeded items. When we needed help, he was ready and more than willing to help us, explaining the various types of furniture that Ashley sells and making recommendations to us based on our situation. We would normally not post my comments on a public forum, but we feel that Mitch really needs to be commended publicly for his positive and refreshing approach to working with retail customers. Was looking for a bedroom set for my young. Looking for things were fine. Everything started off fine. I told them I was on a time schedule, they took their sweet time on everything. My card was acting up (not their fault) just everything went wrong that could. I asked to go to another store to finish up my ticket since I wasn't around that area, I was told yes I could. I did so. Then they told me I had to go back to the store I started, I refused that. They went ahead and did my ticket, which took 2 hours to even get me to a cashier the second time in store (first time took maybe another 2 hours due to looking). I was told I can do a down payment, the company I was doing financing through apparently does an 85 dollar fee for using them (idk if that's true but it's BS either way) don't use SSL to finance your furniture. The cashiers had no idea what they were doing and one said they don't take money from people for down payment after they already took my down payment and we went through another hour procedure to try and find out how to get my money back. I just cancelled my ticket and I will not be going back to Ashley's due to the simple fact they all have no idea what they are doing. read more

The so-called "manager" Cory, does not value customer service whatsoever and it is apparent that it reflects on his staff as well. He has been dishonest, conniving, and extremely unprofessional. The delivery people were not competent to put the furniture together and thus left without the furniture being fully assembled. Furthermore, while expressing my concern about several pieces being damaged, the delivery people walked out without addressing my concerns and without having me sign anything accepting the furniture. Now having to deal with the hassle of returning the furniture and getting back my old furniture that they took when they delivered the furniture - this experience has been a complete nightmare! It's not hart to tell that the sales people work on commission; I have never felt so pressured to buy something in my life; it was worse than going to a used car dealership. To make matters worse when trying to leave the store the sales person brought over the manager to pressure us even more. 5 years ago my husband and bought 2 end tables a sectional with a fake leather ottoman from Ashley . Well the ottoman started to show some wear so we started looking at coffee table so I went to your website and started looking. I found the coffee table that matched I was so happy. I went over to the store to see if Ashley had it on the floor and you did not so the sale person said we can order it so we did . My husband went and picked it up on 2/15/17 put it together . The table is huge it does not fit in my living room so I called Ashley told them it was to big and asked how can I return it I was shocked when I was told no returns . So now I am stuck with this table that does not fit in my living room . I would have paid a restocking fee. What company does business this way no returns. I will never do business with this company again .Do not buy anything from this company unless you know for sure it will work .
