PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, stay away! My wife and I recently moved to the area and happened​ to pass by Ashleys HomeStore in Tacoma. Well, ​we decided to stop in which was a huge mistake, and I have been regretting​ this decision​ ever since. Why you ask? First, the quality of the product is atrocious. I get it, you get what you pay for, and the barstools that we paid $119 a piece​ (4 qty), we were rolling the dice. The sectional on the other hand is a different​ story, $3,975 isn't​​ the most expensive​ thing in the world, but for that price ​you​ think you would be buying value​ and some piece of mind. "WRONG" (in my Trump voice). Second, their​ warranty​ which was stated to us at least 3 times by different​ salespeople​​ (win for Ashley they know how to train). Hearing this wonderful​ warranty​ process gives you a sense of certainty. For me, I overlooked some of the furniture shortcomings thinking they would have my back- if at all anything would go amiss. "WRONG" (thats right in my Trump voice). Third, customer service. I have talked with just about every department imaginable: in store, online, delivery center, customer care and customer care managers. I have spent numerous hours on hold and waiting for call backs, which not once have they ever returned any of my calls for follow up. I am frustrated beyond belief! The final straw and reason I'm writing this review is because the customer care manager Dan, blamed me for the reasons that all my furniture was failing. I have owned them for 4-5 months and it's my fault? Way to go Ashleys, you all are the best! "WRONG" (had to do it one more time). To all the potential Ashley customers please don't be as naive as I. Please, as a consumer do your homework, shop where you will be valued as a customer. AVOID!!! At all costs! This place is a complete joke! Customer Service is Piss Poor! They don't care about the customer at all, all they care about is getting your money! We purchased items back in November, we were supposed to receive these items January 23rd, coffee table wasn't coming in until March so we went and picked out a coffee table and end tables so that we can have them now. We receive text confirmation that the items are arriving on the 23rd still, so I take the day off work. Now after I took the day off work, I call to confirm the time they will be arriving, and low and behold, the delivery is pushed to the 26th, when yet again I'm working. No call, no nothing. Call customer service, and the girl on the phone tells me I can't speak to a supervisor, that a warehouse worker should have called, yet they didn't. Unfortunately, this place should go out of business like all the other furniture stores, because instead of actually training their employees, they hire these pretty girls, set them behind a desk, and hope their looks will do the rest. It's no wonder this place has horrible reviews and low customer rating. You walk in and there is no one to greet you. As a returning customer, because I had an amazing 1st time experience I am ending my business with Ashley HomeStore. I told a sales associate that I had gotten a dresser as my first purchase and that I like their products. No acknowledgment about the purchase, and no thanks for coming back again. Oh, they'll make you walk around the store with them because their registers don't work. Wouldn't you know which ones to avoid so it's a seamless experience for the customer. If you have an Ashley furniture card, they will want you to pay expenses OOP with your debit or credit and then they'll put the rest on your Ashley furniture card. Oh btw, their store and online are 2 completely different services. For a company this big, you would think they'd assist you with your online purchases as well. The workers just want you to come in, hurry up, pay, and leave. I didn't even get a thank for your your business or thank you for coming in the 2nd time I've purchased. Wife and I bought a mattress, electric base, mattress cover, and a couple pillows 2 weekends ago. A week later, delivery company shows up with a queen size base, with our King size mattress. The two guys realized the problem once they placed the electric base into my bed frame. Okay, so they take the base with them and leave the mattress and tell us it looks like Ashley sold us a queen base and king mattress and we will have to call them to straighten it out. I thought that sounded crazy but double checked our paperwork and saw that is what happened. Two days of phone calls back and forth with Ashley and we are finally told they will call us within 2 days to set up delivery of our base. 2 days came and went, no call... 4 days later, still no call. Wife and I drive to Ashley on our day off to speak with someone and its confirmed at that time we were sold a queen frame with our king mattress. We now have a delivery date of a week away... Overall just a frustrating experience, and seems pretty ridiculous that the salesman would sell us two individual products that literally do not match in size... lesson learned, next home purchase, will be elsewhere... Update, week 3: This past Saturday, the day they were supposed to finally deliver our electric base between 3 and 7PM, we get a recorded call at noon stating that our base did not pass inspection and we would have to call Ashley to set up a future delivery.... They will tell me yup we have your order coming to you. Never get it. I call and they say oh no order has been placed. We are so disappointed in Ashley. After purchasing two chairs and a battery pack, we were told it was going to take several weeks to get our chairs delivered. After waiting, the chairs showed up with one of them having a 2" rip in the leather on the front of the chair. We now have to wait several more weeks for them to get another replacement. The battery that we thought would work, is not enough to reach as needed for the chairs. When I called and asked to return, I was told their return policy did not allow returns. So now I'm out $500 for a battery that i can't use. The person on the phone did not care about me and was very impersonable. All she could do was read her script and told me to read my conditions on the agreement. I recommend you NEVER shop at Ashley Furniture as they just don't care about the customer. read more

extremely frustrated and disappointed in Ashley Homestore purchased a bedroom set on October 3, 2021 was told the set was in STOCK at the warehouse and would be delivered in a week, I took the day off for delivery and they called and cancelled 3 times as they said not all items where in stock. What??? Finally gets delivered on 11/6/2021 and we are missing the hardware/post for the storage drawers. Called the customer service line reported the missing items and they stated those parts are on back order and should arrive in mid February of 2022. I call once a month to find out when we will get the parts for our storage drawers and get the run around each time. Finally get through to someone to help the parts arrive on June 28, 2022 but they delivered the WRONG parts! Its been almost a year since we purchased our bed and we are STILL MISSING the hardware and post to be able to use the storage drawers! NO ETA on when the missing parts will arrive super annoyed that we paid for a bed that we can not use the the storage and that is the main reason we purchased this bed. Ive taken days off work, my time on the phone calling customer service being on hold and yet nothing NO PARTS, NO REFUND. BUYER BEWARE I called the Tacoma location and was told that they had the last dresser available that I wanted. The sales person quoted the online price of $429.99 to me. She indicated that would be best if I came down to Tacoma to purchase the item. I agreed and I drove an hour to the store and when I got there they refused to honor the price unless I bought a protection plan. The manager said they didn't know where she got the price of $429. So when I got home, I saw on line the price that was quoted to me. I called the store to no avail, they refused to refund the protection plan fee back which I didn't want in the first place. Every employee that I came in contact with was friendly, informative, and professional. If I was to rate the store by its employees alone, Ashley HomeStore would have a much higher rating! Unfortunately, I'm giving the store 2 stars due to my purchase and (lack of) delivery of a couch. I purchased the couch that I did because I was assured by both advertisement and by an employee that it was already in stock at the warehouse and could be delivered. That was not the case, and one day before delivery I was called and told that the couch did not make it to the warehouse (that it supposedly was already at) and wouldn't be available for over a month and I wouldn't be able to get it delivered for about a week after that due to their delivery trucks being overbooked. Ashley is the WORST. Do NOT buy furniture from here. We ordered a dining set through Amber in the Tacoma store on Nov. 12, and were stoked to have it scheduled for delivery on the 19th. The 19th came, and no dining set. Didn't even get a phone call. We had to call and ask what happened, and the response was, "Hmm, looks like it didn't make it on the truck." So we rescheduled for Nov. 30. And the exact same thing happened. Then again on Dec. 4. Then again on Dec. 12. And again on Dec. 30. That's FIVE failed delivery attempts, not to mention the 3-hour windows for which we had to re-arrange our work schedules for deliveries that never showed up. The last failed delivery even showed us live updates online, saying our delivery was the third delivery of the day and that it was on its way...and then all of a sudden, it went blank because customer order couldn't be found. How convenient. Apparently, here's what's happened: So, Ashley has a 3rd party delivery service. The delivery service has our dining set on their delivery route for the day. But they find that the set requires some pre-assembly which hasn't been completed - so they don't put it on the truck. But no one communicates with us to let us know it's not coming. So after waiting the entire 3-hour window, I call Ashley, and they're like, "Derrrr we have no idea what happened, let's reschedule." This could be forgivable the first time. Maaaaaybe the second time. But FIVE times? That's 15 active hours of our lives waiting for something that was promised but never delivered. And Amber, who sold us the set, never replied to our emails even though she was hell-bent on making sure we had her business card (WTF for, if you're not gonna reply?). And the call center takes forever to answer - they're pleasant, and quick to reschedule a delivery, but there is a major lack of communication and accountability between them and the delivery service that just leads to fail after fail. It's simply poor business practice. We considered cancelling each time this happened but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We're too nice, apparently, and are feeling rather foolish. My husband and I just visited the store to browse for furniture for our new house. Within the five minutes we were there the sales associate Lorena approached us three times. We said multiple times we were just looking but she was so pushy and rude. She followed us around which was super uncomfortable so we decided to leave. Even as we were literally walking out the door she yells "but you didn't go upstairs yet!!" Of course we didn't go upstairs! Who is going to stay even a minute longer with someone driving you completely crazy! That was such an annoying experience and left us with a sour taste in our mouth. I tried calling to deal with this issue privately but couldn't reach anyone in the phone after waiting on hold for 5 minutes. They do have great furniture but this location is not where you will want to spend your money if you expect even good customer service. I hate being handled by sales reps firstly. I understand that it is your job but I still hate it. My last experience with a competitor left me severely trepidatious. That being said, my experience with Ashley's was almost perfect, almost. I hate salespeople. No offense, yes they're necessary however I hate the schmoozing, read the room, not all of us like to talk. The actual perfection was the fact that I got my furniture when I was told I would.. If I could have given them ZERO stars I would have! We purchased furniture on 7/19/2020. We split our purchase between cash and our credit card. We knew there could be a delay regarding receiving our furniture due to all the impacts of COVID. We were told that it would be 8/15/2020 before we got our furniture. We were okay with that date. We were getting married labor day weekend (specifically 9/4) so we had plenty of time. We were later told it was pushed out to 8/31. We still decided that would work for us. On 8/27, I called to check status of our delivery. I was THEN told it wouldn't be until 9/6 because not every piece of our section would be available. Okay so a sectional doesn't really work if pieces are missing from it. I asked what piece and they said "the corner piece but the sofa part and the loveseat part could still be shipped." Still didn't sound right and the timing was going to be late. We located furniture elsewhere and put it on hold. Then we went to Ashley to cancel and to get a refund. Before we cancelled I asked someone to show me the "corner" piece that would be missing. Found out that the "corner piece" is about 80% of the sectional. What in the world. So we talked to them about the refund but the manager working suggested that they find something we might like that was in stock. We found something we liked and I told him we could do that with the understanding that we will not pay not one penny more than what we had already paid. He assured us that he would adjust the price so that we would not need to pay anything. Almost 2 hours later (it's after closing now), we walk out assured that our product price had been adjusted and that we would have delivery on the 1st. I was excited! We received the customary text confirming our delivery for the 1st on the 31st. We were excited. Perfect timing since our guest would be there starting the very next day. I confirmed back the time agreement. We went ahead and cleared out the living room furniture that we needed to get rid of. THEN, I find I had missed a phone call from late on the 31st telling us that our delivery had been cancelled due to an outstanding balance due!!!! We were like WHAT the heck??? Even if the balance had been legitimate, they didn't give us an opportunity to take care of it. The balance wasn't legitimate and we didn't have an opportunity to clear it up either. When I contacted their delivery folks at the warehouse the morning of the 1st, they told me our delivery had already been removed from the truck and I would have to clear it up with the store. I couldn't get anyone on the phone at the store so I made the appointment to talk to someone. We go in and we get the runaround about how the manager didn't do what he had committed to doing! I left voice message. I sent emails with no response. Then we are told it would be 10 days before we could get the cash portion back. Okay, that's $900!!!! What in the hell??? The money on the credit card took more than a week; some of that is up to the bank with regards to posting so I get that but we have to wait for our cash back??? They do not write checks in the store! Supposedly our issues was escalated and we asked for the money to be overnighted. They promised it was taken care of. Now mind you that at this point, we had a living room that had ZERO furniture in it. We had to scramble to find some, which we did. Thank you BIG LOTS (Broyhill) Lakewood, WA. Our trip to the store in person was on 9/1/2020. As of today 9/23, WE STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR MONEY BACK!!! Excuse after excuse! They started talking to me about the money refunding from the credit card. I'm like okay, I know that, that's why I'm not talking about that. Where is my cash. Now I'm being told it could be another TWO WEEKS before we get our money!!! People, listen....DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! They are liars and will take your money and will not give it back. Huge furniture showroom seems to have found the balance between quality and price, plus has lots of eager sales associates willing to help you find the right piece. Recently I decided it was past time for a new couch. Not a 'new to me' used one, but an actual NEW piece of furniture. I had some idea of what I was after-- basic size and shape, anyway. Well, if you've ever gone couch-hunting I'm sure you've found that there are a TON of options out there and a plethora of businesses to buy from. Where to start? I'd heard of Ashley (naturally; they are one of the biggest furniture manufacturers, retailers, and advertisers in the country) and you can't help but notice their huge store on 38th St near Tacoma Mall, in the building that used to be Borders Books. I decided to try this store first, just to get a better idea of what's what in the new furniture market. The sales associate who helped me (Darlene) was great-- not pushy or rushed, but willing to take the time to show off anything in the store. When I told her that I was just price checking for now and intended to shop around at some other stores before making a decision, she took it in stride and just wanted to make sure I had her contact info in case I did decide to come back. Well, after shopping around at several other furniture stores in the area, I ultimately did decide to return to Ashley to make my purchase-- due in no small part to Darlene's outstanding assistance and patience. I had read some reviews saying that the quality of Ashley furniture is sub-par, but you know what? I can't really afford a top-of-the-line $3000+ couch (although I looked at several!) right now. However, I could tell just by looking at and sitting on the pieces here that they were far superior to the crap at IKEA or other discount retailers. One glaring negative about my experience here is the delivery charge/policy: it costs $130 more to have a couch delivered, and pick-up at the Tacoma store is not an option. If you are willing to drive to their distribution warehouse in Tukwila (which I ultimately did), they'll waive the delivery fee. Other furniture stores that I shopped were either offering free delivery or the option to pick-up at the store for no additional charge. Ashley will price match competitors for the exact same product, but not the delivery charge. Also, if you are thinking about buying furniture here it's a good idea to wait until a holiday weekend to do so-- they always have a holiday special going (15% off everything when I was here). All in all, I'm pretty happy with my new couch and my shopping experience at Ashley. I'd still shop around before deciding to purchase here again, but it's a good place to start. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I purchased a sectional couch from here and paid for doorstep delivery. The total came up to around $1700 . It took weeks for me to receive the couch. The couch fitted through the door but the way my hallway is set up the second part of the couch would not fit through. I immediately called Ashley's back to let them know my situation. They told me to send pictures of the couch not fitting through the hallways and I did. I waited 48 hours for them to tell me they would not except my request of exchanging the couch to something smaller. I didn't want to return the couch it checked the boxes of everything I wanted in a couch it was just too big to fit through my hallway sadly... I should have measured the hallway before receiving it but things happen. I can't believe they would deny someone to exchange even when it's under warranty. This is absurd costumer service and they should find some type resolution for a paying costumer. I literally furnished my whole house from Ashley's my bed frame is not even that sturdy but I never complained I will never give them a dime and I hope no one else will. I thought this was going to be an easy experience. I walked in after work and ordered a lot of furniture for my new house through Amber. We picked a delivery date and I paid for it. I was told everything I ordered was in stock, except for my desk and that would be delivered the following week. Delivery day comes and they tried to deliver dining chairs with stickers all over them that I would have to work to peel off. Those were refused and sent back. My lamp didn't come as promised. Ok, lamp and new chairs will be delivered in a week. I guess that's acceptable, however we have no place to sit at the dining table. Amber gave me her direct line and I reached out to her. No call back. I sent an email to customer service who called me back and assured me my lamp would be delivered with my new chairs. Delivery guys show up, no lamp. Only chairs. The confirmation email I received prior to delivery said "everything" would arrive: desk, lamp, chairs. NOPE. WRONG! I lose. Next!! So I called customer service. I have to wait another three weeks (end of October) to get the rest of my stuff. This delivery thing, which I paid for mind you, has been a nightmare to say the least. I do love the quality of their furniture, but they have completely lost my trust in salesmanship and commitment. I should've went to Bassett. If you want your furniture on time and without defects, go somewhere else. ***AVOID*** Went to the Tacoma store and selected what we wanted and asked if they could hold the order at the holiday sale price and told yes (closing on our home and did not want to open new credit). Purchased a desk with cash and planned to return after closing. Went back to place the order and got the run around about when we could get the living room and bedroom sets. Salesman kept playing this game of "when do you want it" and when given a time frame he just laughed. Played this ping pong game for several minutes until he finally admitted we were looking at 6 mos. I didn't have a problem with that. Should have been my red flag but I was trying to help the salesman out with our large order during a pandemic. Our plan was to pay with the zero interest and pay it off with money we were getting as part of our home purchase. Approved for a very small amount but they said all they needed to do was call to get the increase approved. Approval came through with a catch: pay cash for the tax and delivery because they won't finance it. $1000. I have NEVER heard of this before and could not get an explanation as to why. We walked out. Desk finally arrives. Front drawer breaks the first week. The nightmare begins. Can't get anyone on the phone, website chat or email. Got through on FB messenger and sat in chat for over an hour to get help. No clear direction on how to get my desk fixed. Had to go back to the store because the number listed is the National call center not the Tacoma store. They were able to submit the request for a technician. Given the date of 10/8. No confirmation was sent so I sat in FB messenger for an hour to get the confirmation in writing. Technician shows up 10/6 NOT 10/8 and interrupts my work meeting. He takes one look at it and says "I can't fix that." He orders the part. Still no confirmation or tracking number for the part. Back on FB again and told the confirmation will be sent when it's ready to be shipped. No way am I buying my living room and bedroom set from them! Lots of mistakes and poor communication: Our original in-store purchase was ordered incorrectly because they ordered furniture that had been discontinued and they no longer stocked. We discovered this ourselves, they never caught the issue. We were understanding and decided to replace the order for the correct furniture and possibly wait longer for it to come in. We were frustrated, but they refunded us a small amount to try to make it right. No problem. Our furniture was supposed to be delivered today and I even received tracking information via a text message for the truck that was supposed to deliver it. Now, after waiting all day for the delivery, the tracking disappeared. I called the store for them to inform me my furniture isn't even at the warehouse and they "Have no idea" why I didn't get a call informing me of this. They basically have no clue as to why all of this is messed up and gave me no answers. Now I am expected to wait 2-3 more weeks on top of the 4+ weeks I have already waited. I understand delays, but they have had absolutely zero communication with us throughout this entire process. These mistakes are only found when we call and wait on hold to inform them of their mistakes. I would not recommend this store and will be shopping elsewhere in the future. read more

NEGATIVE STARS NEVER USE ASHLEY FURNITURE. We bought our couch & bedroom set 11/17/19. We were promised delivery dates of: 11/27, 12/14, 12/21, 12/28, 1/6, 1/13, 1/31 and then they showed up 1/21 (before the time they said they would). Beforehand they just didn't show up and we would have to call them and ask what the f*** and be told numerous times our delivery was cancelled or back ordered etc. We missed work because of this and for nothing! The bedroom set comes on 12/28/19 and everything is fine until I go up and start putting clothes away in the dresser and find that the delivery men only put one screw in a two-screw handle. We had to go buy additional screws and finish it ourselves! The couch FINALLY comes 1/21/2020 and the two delivery guys severely DAMAGE our door way, including splitting the wood on the frame along with scratching it up and down. So I get the guys name and tell him. He doesn't even apologize he just says "oh s***." I call Ashley Furniture right after they leave. I get a girl named Jasmine. I ask politely to speak with a manager and she asked why. I said "your delivery men just f***** up my doorway" and she LAUGHED. I told her it wasn't funny & that this is damage to my home. And she laughed again. I asked to speak to a manager, again. She said she texted me a number that I can send pics to. I said that's fine but still need to speak with a manager. I told her it wasn't professional for her to laugh at a customer and she said "well you're not being a professional customer". ARE YOU KIDDING ME. So I ask for the manager again. Continue to keep my cool and saying please. She tells me her manager doesn't want to speak with me, can't speak with me, won't speak with me until I send the pics, won't listen to her, etc. So I said okay well now this is turning into how you're treating me and not just about the damage anymore. She refused to get me a manager and so I said "Jasmine, Jaslean (I had misheard when she answered originally) please get me to your manager NOW". She said "IT's JASMINE. Take a note. You are not going to disrespect me! People these days are so rude and then expect me to help them". She is still refusing to get me a manager at this point and then the phone goes quiet- but I'm not on hold (no music) I know this because she put me on hold numerous times throughout our call without telling me she was going to. Then a gentleman picks up & introduces himself as the manager (Alvin) because a DIFFERENT care rep came and got him out of concern for how she was speaking to me (yelling & cussing). He gets everything addressed with me about all of my concerns and then a claims specialist called me to figure out the damage. Then an upper manager Shannon B called to tell me this has been escalated to their HR dept and they will be taking severe action (hopefully getting her fired). And they will be compensating us & gave me her information incase I need to reach out to her directly. I also found out that Ashley Furniture actually records all of their calls (thank god). Later that day Shannon B emails me and said she reviewed the call and is absolutely mortified with how I was treated. She advised me that I would be hearing from them later that week. I was also told a followup would be on 1/23/2020 by the claims specialist in regards to the damage. Here we are almost two weeks later and NO ONE has returned phone calls, emails, facebook messages or followed up with me AT ALL. We spent close to $3,000 for mistreatment, damage to our home & the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I cannot stress enough. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT ASHLEY FURNITURE. read more

If i could give 0 stars I would. Don't EVER pay extra for a warranty! It's total fraud! The 5 year warranty we purchased was useless bc the company won't get back to us! And ashley no longer works with them so they won't do anything about it, nor will they refund us the warranty cost for 5 years! The garbage (couch) we bought from them fell apart in less than a year! Once you buy your furniture and are out the door, it's your problem not theirs! read more
