This is a cute store dedicated to Christmas. Considering the store is relatively small, they had a lot of selection of different types of Christmas items, decorations, cards, ornaments you name it! We were also able to find some items that my husband has had a hard time finding even online. This is a great store to find unique specialty Christmas items! read more

Wonderful shop that has variety of Christmas ornaments, cards, soaps, locally produced arts and crafts. It is pretty crowded with stuff, and yes there is plenty to chose from. The ladies who worked there were extremely helpful as I wanted to buy something local that reflects the culture. She suggested a "Love Knot" which had a beautiful message and now hangs nicely in my daughter's room. read more

Walked around the store looking for "Nebraska ' ornaments as we collect from each state we visit. What a vast selection of every ornament that you can think of. Couldnt find anyone around the store to ask for help because it's like looking for a needle in a haystack with thousands of Christmas ornaments. I guess it was our day to miss the helpful cheerful hello and customer service the responses here mention because we found probably the only person, a heavy set woman working, sitting on a stool behind the register. It looked like it pained her to crack a smile , say hello and lift her arm to point at about 3 boring Nebraska ornaments. Maybe no one wants to admit they visited the state. The store is wonderful. Here comes Santa Clause and he is coming in about 1,000 different varieties in this store! It kinda blows my mind that a whole store that is open year round is dedicated to just Christmas stuff! But then again my mom collects Santa's and I have always wanted to open a Christmas themed bar, and when I do, Im totally going to come here for decorations! I have the name for the bar.... Fantastic store, loaded with everything Christmas, and so full you had to be careful not to brush against something. The walls from floor to ceiling and shelves were covered in every theme known t man kind. Love looking, but hubby was a little impatient. This place had the best nativity sets, the best decorative plates, cups and saucers, and anything else that you could think of, from that nutcracker, to the 4 foot Santa doll. Their wide selection made for an interesting time just browsing through the aisles. However, be careful, many things are breakable and fragile and the aisles are very narrow. This store looks like the perfect place to buy Christmas gifts. However it discriminates against handicapped people and parents of children. My aunt couldn't bring her walker in and neither was I allowed to bring in my stroller. No worries I will buy Christmas presents/ornaments for my 19 nieces and nephews and 4 children at a different store. Update... maybe you should review that with your staff who were not nice enough to give us that option. I never leave negative reviews but rudeness goes a long way. read more

A store in downtown Omaha that sells Christmas items year round? Awesome! The halls are decked with everything Christmas from decorations to ornaments. They even have some Halloween and Thanksgiving decor...not much because this is a Christmas shop ;) Walls and walls of every kind of ornament you could ask for is just awesome! If you're looking for a very specific ornament you're likely to find it here....no joke. My friend is a dental student and she said she found numerous dental themed ones. I found a Christmas ornament that was Halloween themed....enough said. The store staff is super friendly and helpful. The store itself has narrow aisle ways to accommodate the inventory so be aware. They don't allow strollers which makes sense since so much is breakable and valuable. This little Christmas shop is much bigger inside than the outside looks. Walk inside and you can find something for almost anyone on your list who loves Christmas. There are a ton of glass ornaments to choose from, garlands to hang on your tree, tree toppers, Christmas decor to hang around the house and many wonderful keepsake ornaments. During "Christmas in the Old Market" it's especially nice to pop in this shop to get out of the cold and look for a new addition to you ornament collection. They even have a few items that can be personalized. We dropped by early December and they still had a few Thanksgiving/Halloween decorations out in a certain section that were quite delightful. All in all a nice little shop that is interesting to check out downtown. read more

Everything Christmas awaits you at Tannenbaum Christmas Shop. I was happy to stumble across this place when visiting the Old Market neighborhood in Omaha since it's my tradition to collect ornaments from everywhere I visit. The shop looks small from the outside, but through some sort of dimension-shifting, Harry Potter type magic it opens up to reveal a much larger space. Once inside, I promise you can find a Christmas ornament for just about any taste. They have antique style glass ornaments, Disney ornaments, ornaments shaped like tractors, ornaments dedicated to your favorite sports team (so long as it's the Cornhuskers). They had Christmas themed wine coozies, hand sewn stockings. They had pretty much everything you'd need for a successful Christmas except the turkey. Unless you needed a turkey shaped Christmas ornament, because they had those too. Do be mindful of the amount of stuff in the shop because several of the aisles are very narrow, and as one can expect from a Christmas shop, most of the stuff is fragile. I left happy and successful in my souvenir search with an ornament shaped like an ear of corn... because Nebraska. read more

Every year, I come to this store with my daughters so they can pick out a new ornament for our Christmas tree. It has been a tradition for over five years and is something I did as a child too. The shop has lots of beautifully crafted and unique ornaments. The main reason I can't give five stars is because the aisle ways of the store are so incredibly narrow that only one person can fit in them at a time. If you are looking for some themed Christmas ornaments or ornaments for gifts for someone specific, this would probably be a good place to check out. They've got ornaments of all types. Kitschy, pretty, classic, cute, colorful, weird, a little bit WTF, and so on. They've also got some decor for your holiday needs. Figurines, cookie jars, platters, etc. The prices really aren't too bad (buying 1 or 2 isn't anything too bad, buying enough to cover a tree and it will get expensive fast). Basically, if you like Christmas or need ornaments, this would be a good stop for you. My only real complaint would be that when we went (March 21st), there was a pretty strong chemical smell when we entered. No idea what that was about, but it was pervasive all through the side portion of the store and was unpleasant. Possible it was just a one off problem, but made my experience a little less pleasant. read more

Very disappointed with our experience here. We have family in town, and have a tradition of Christmas ornament shopping. There were 12 of us, which we understand can be overwhelming. We split up and started showing each other our favorites, because it's rare to get the whole family together (they were visiting from North Carolina.) A sales associate approached us and asked, "Can I help you?" My mother responded, "We are only looking at the moment, but we will let you know." The sales associate then sat down behind the register, groaned, and said very audibly: "This IS a store, you know.." I say we were disappointed because we were quite set on purchasing, and were all excited by the incredible selection. However, after the rudeness, we gathered everyone and stepped onto the street. The second sales associate then followed us moments later onto the street, where we were standing pretty shocked and embarrassed. She said, "What are you guys doing? Why is she looking at me like that? Do you guys have a problem?" I told her, "Ma'am, you are a business owner. That was very inappropriate behavior, as we are customers. Please go back inside, it is inappropriate to follow us back outside. Have a nice day." To which she rolled her eyes and said, hatefully and inaccurately, "Yeah, you have a nice day too, why don't you go on back to Iowa." Ma'am, I will have you know that you single handedly lost a large volume of customers with your rudeness. This store is beautiful and has an amazing selection, but how is anyone excepted to commit to a purchase without the chance to browse? We were only in the store for five minutes. Again, great selection but we will not be back and will be certain to tell absolutely everyone we know in Omaha about this very disappointing experience. read more

I love this place! Both Joe the owner and Pat the sales associate always greet me with a smile and open arms. Plus they even know me by name. They tell other customers in the store what a lovely customer I am. I live in Miami, Florida but travel to Omaha a couple of times a year for business. Every time I am in town I make it a point to stop and shop here. They have a great selection of beautiful Christmas ornaments and decorations, plus for other holidays as well. If you can't find the Christmas ornament you're looking for here, then it probably doesn't exist. Tannenbaum has an amazing assortment of ornaments, tree-toppers, "Christmas City" sets, mangers, and decoration of all kinds mostly for Christmas but for many other holidays as well. My wife and I make a traditional annual trek here to select 1 new ornament each year. They have everything from the whimsical to simply beautiful and within every budget. The only drawback is during the holiday season, the VERY tight aisles can get claustrophobic. Navigating your way around without breaking something is a challenge. Overall Tannenbaum has become an Omaha classic for the holiday - or any season. read more

I am visiting here while my husband is working in Omaha. I decided to look for an ornament for my granddaughter's first Christmas ornament. There are so many ornaments and very beautiful ones also. The lady behind the counter greeted me. I asked where certain ornaments were and she just pointed towards the back of the store. I found a cute ornament to purchase. I mentioned that I glad started my Christmas shopping early since it is July. She started telling me that she shops for her grandchildren throughout the year so she doesn't buy them anything for Christmas because it is about celebrating the birth of Jesus. I get it, I go to Eastlake Community Church in Chula Vista. I am believer also!! I thought I ran into the grinch. I would not shop here again!! read more

It is a little tight in there not a lot of room to move around especially if they are busy.
