This is, by far, the store that has the most extensive collection of the cutest and not so common merchandise (smallest Boggle, smallest Etch-A-Sketch) that I have been to. They have a ton of gift items including toys, greeting cards, magnets (Steven Rhoads!), plushies, wrappers, salt/pepper shakers, tea infusers, socks, pot holders, pens, books, chip bag clips, vases, aprons, and so much more. All of these were very adorable. The cashier that night was a very nice man who used to be a photographer. They have a few items on Nebraska. Some of it is really crazy, and some might offend. So, go there to have fun and expect some things you may love and may hate. While there, I got to meet the owner who does most of the buying. This is an absolutely adorable little shop! Due to shitty freezing rain/snow/sleet The other day, I only popped in long enough to pick up a card. The card I found was perfect: it said "Happy Alcoholidays" and I sent it to my former neighbor, a sommelier who speaks of his family with exceptional derision. :) The cards are toward the back though, so I was able to spot tons of stuff I want to go back and buy. I seriously couldn't take a step without thinking, "Oh, that would be perfect for _________" or "_______ would love that!" It's typical gift shop stuff like totes and mugs and stationary, but with a sense of humor. I'm going back to get the Cat Lady for Life mug for my best friend because I know exactly what species of animal will be feasting on her face when she dies. I'm a dog person, myself. And let's be honest, there was plenty of stuff I'd like to get my own grubby little paws on. We found this shop while strolling in the Old Market District of Omaha. It was a great shop for novelty items and unusual gifts for those who have a warped sense of humor. We spent a good hour looking through the merchandise, and found many things that gave us a good laugh and that we wanted to buy. By the end however despite some good laughs, i didn't really find anything that I wanted to take home with me. I would consider this store to be a hit or miss with most people. It's like the urban outfitters accessories section but on steroids. This is exactly the sort of place that probably inspired the hipster products that UO sells now. Funny gifts which are reasonably priced for this area (like, if you see something at Urban Outfitters, check here first - if they have it, it's probably much cheaper). They update their inventory frequently (a must for this card junkie) and they'll take requests into consideration when placing orders. I was drawn into the store by a garden gnome that was mooning me from his street-level shelf. If that isn't funny, then don't bother continuing inside because you will likely be offended by their sassiness. The store definitely has my sense of humor and I wish they were in DC since they'd be my go-to store for great cards and small gifts for friends. I love this store. Every time we go to the Old Market we make a trip here. They have something for everyone. They have greeting cards to funny books to hilarious novelty items. I always go here when I need a funny gift for someone, or even something funny for myself. They have a great bacon flavored, shaped, smelling and tasting section if you are into that. Or they have giant cups from wine glasses to beer mugs. Or my personal favorite they have germ shaped stuffed animals. Want to give someone the flu or perhaps chlamydia, give it to them in a cute little stuffed germ. Check this place out if you find yourself in the old market. I had a great first visit to City Limits! My friend Jacquie works there and has been telling me to visit for a while, so I am really glad that I stopped in. I really love cards/stationary/planners and novelty items, so this store was kind of like geek heaven for me.
