    Before grooming

As you can see from other negative reviews, the owner's response to negative reviews is to resort to harassment. I have contacted my lawyer about this and any further contact from her will result in legal action. They groomed our two cavalier king charles spaniels yesterday and did a very poor job, and the owner's follow up response was even worse. Our two cavaliers had lots of mats because they hadn't been professionally groomed in a while, however, we did give them baths, brush and regularly cut out some of the mats (I loaded photos to show how they looked before and after). We brought the dogs to the vet recently and the vet said they look good and are in very good health but recommended we take them to a professional groomer to get some of the mats out. Ashley's Movin' Groom service came to our house, and the two employees asked if I wanted the dogs hair short, and if they should shave out the mats, I agreed but I didn't expect them to completely shave my dogs from head to toe. We have gotten our cavaliers groomed many times before where they had mats (Cavaliers often get matting in their fur, it is a trait of the breed), and other professional groomers would sometimes have to shave off the mats but leave the top coats. As you can see from the before photos I loaded-- the dogs top back coats did not have excessive matting. Cavaliers are a double coated breed and when you shave them completely you permanently damage their coat, I am not sure if their hair will ever grow back the same now. I would expect professional groomers to know how to cut the hair of different dog breeds, but it seems like these may have been the first cavaliers they have groomed before. The cost of their service is very high-- $250 for 1.5 hours of work. In fairness we knew their cost could run this high before booking, so I suppose that's on us. After the work was done I explained to the employees I wasn't pleased in a very calm and collected manner (it is all on my Ring cam by my door). The employees argued with me and then left. Later in the day I posted a bad review, to which the owner called me, did not apologize for the service and in a not very nice way threatened me with "posting pictures of our dogs," I said that's fine I will post pictures myself, and that's what I have done here. The owner accused me of neglect of my dogs, I have vet records, plenty of photos and other information that prove otherwise. The owner threatened me more about needing to take my review down, so I contacted Yelp and my lawyer. Any further contact in any shape or form from the owner will result in legal action on my part against her.

My gorgeous German Shepard girl Halo had so much hair, thick & kinky. Yes shed happens (wink) and now is feeling lighter and fluffy just in time to enjoy this cooler fall air. I recommend Courtney Adkins, she worked with my girl to make her comfortable during her groom and Halo also seemed to be less stressed afterward and even left her pink flowers on. So cute and much needed! Thank you again for your great service Courtney with @ashley's Movin Groom! Very convenient and highly satisfied.

Got our dogs groomed with them today for the second time. Roxanna is great ! (Obviously)She did excellent job with Layla's .will definitely use them again !

Feeling very handsome and happy!  No "grooming anxiety" in that face!

This was my first experience with a mobile grooming service. I have a German Shepherd and being around other dogs in a kennel at a non-mobile groomer always made him very anxious, which made me anxious, so I decided to get an undercoat rake and "groom" him myself. Even after I'd brush him, his undercoat would be "sprouting" again a few days later, sometimes a few minutes later! If you have a German Shedder, you understand. Then, we had new carpet put in our bedroom. The movers moved our bed and I nearly fainted when I saw the amount of dog hair that had accumulated, UNDER THE BED! I knew at that point, it was time to find a professional. I'm an over-protective, hovering dog mom, to the point of driving my husband crazy. I carefully read reviews and really liked others had said about Ashley's Movin' Groom. Ashley promptly returned my call with a quote and I scheduled our appointment for two weeks later. It was sooooooooo worth the wait!!! You get what you wait for and you get what you pay for. There's a reason her services are booked in advance. *They called me back promptly to schedule my appointment *Ashley answered all of my questions and concerns, even returning my call just before the appointment to answer one last question and reassure me - yes, I'm "that" lady. *Roxanna sent me a text 30 minutes prior to the appointment time of 9am to let me know she was on the way. She arrived exactly at 9am, ready to get to work and finished for the price quoted, no surprises. *My dog took to her immediately - like he'd known her forever. *An hour and 25 minutes later, it was like I had a new dog. He bounced out of the van happy and very much at ease. Roxanna wanted him to shake off what she said was a little excess hair - he did, and I think I saw...maybe two. It's usually a hair storm of epic proportion. I could tell talking to Ashley on the phone she really cares about her customers and their pets, and Roxanna came through with flying colors. Professional, on time, fairly priced, no anxiety for me or my dog, no more sprouting undercoat. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! I'll definitely be a return customer.

Ask the Community - Ashley's Movin' Groom

Does this company groom cats? If so, how much is it?

Yes, we groom cats. Price depends on how far we have to travel (your address), what you want done (haircut vs bath and nails) and the difficulty of the groom (cats temperment, age and weight). Basic price would be around $80, and around $100-$110…

How does mobile grooming work? Do they provide everything? I live in an apt so I don't really have much.

We are completely self contained. We will come get your pup and take it to our van. We do the complete grooming in the van. We have our own water and electricity, not to mention a hot water heater and furnace. All we need from you is the dog :)…

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

At the time, Pop Tart and I had known each other for only about a month. I was still potty training her, I knew very little about her previous training and I had no idea how she would behave around other dogs. She was sweet, but I live in Downtown Houston, and downtown life frightened her. That random recommendation from a stranger was a blessing! Today, all I have to say is, "Do you want to go to school?" Pop Tart immediately knows what I mean. We drive there with her window down, she recognizes the route and she can barely wait to get out of the car. Once inside, she makes a point of greeting every single member of the front office staff before she is escorted back to play. The shy dog I adopted has become confident, social and playful... a little bit bossy! Pop Tart plays well with big dogs, small dogs and takes every opportunity to zoom. For those of us who live in downtown apartments, having a safe, consistent place with both indoor and outdoor play areas is invaluable. I love that the wood fence protects the dogs from being watched or triggered by the street. BLDH has also become an important part of our community. I have met other pet parents through the business and some of our dogs now have play dates outside of school. Her 'classmates' even came to Pop Tart's birthday party! ***My entire family follows BLDH on social media because everyone feels invested in Pop Tart's days there. And they're obsessed with the content.*** The quality of care is deeply personal. Everyone knows Pop Tart. They send photos, communicate quickly and call whenever something is off, whether she has an upset stomach or has rolled herself in chalk!!! Kerry is easy to reach by email and is often available to talk in person. The daycare team is first class. We have also used training, grooming and boarding. Angel is an excellent trainer who provides detailed updates, thoughtful advice and homework that has helped both Pop Tart and me. Pop Tart now walks beautifully on a leash, can sit, lie down and stay, and I know how to redirect her when necessary. Cris has somehow managed to get her to enjoy bath time. When work emergencies have happened, BLDH has even accommodated last-minute boarding requests. That has been HUGE for me! I love that the business is locally owned, cage-free and genuinely designed around the comfort of the little dogs. Boarding dogs sleep on beds, not in cages. The online booking system is easy, the events calendar helps me plan my schedule and their social media updates about activities and last-minute grooming availability are useful. They also offer thoughtful extras, including CPR classes and lower weekend daycare rates. I do not trust anyone else to watch Pop Tart when I am away. BLDH gives her fun, exercise, structure, affection and a place where she feels completely at home. They give both of us individual attention and I truly believe they care about our lives, not simply our business. These are dog lovers who get paid to love our dogs. That is what makes this place so special.

Upon picking him up, it was discovered that the hair in his head was indeed cut. After contacting Eddie to inform him of the matter, he then conveyed to me that José, the technician, stated that he "felt disrespected" and that services to our dog would be discontinued. Eddie went on to say that because of the dog's disposition- there are no other techs who desired to "put up with him" and "José was the only tech who would groom him." The irony is: If in fact the dog were so unmanageable, amazingly, Eddie would call my friend to see when would she be bringing him in. If the dog were that bad, his services should have been refused 2 years ago. The final analysis- Eddie told me that he would refund me the money from the last service and that due to the dog's disgruntled disposition- there was a TLC fee, which we have never seen, prior to that day. As a patron, it was NEVER about the money. It was about José failing to follow instructions and when the issue was addressed, the company assumed a stance of victimization, which resulted in poor customer service.
