Alyson with Tanya's mobile groomer is amazing! They are usually booked out in advance (no weekends, Monday through Friday only), so I felt lucky to be able to schedule an appointment via text a few days ago for the only day I could be home. I was ecstatic when I found out Alyson would be grooming, the same groomer we had last time. She is so pleasant and kind, she is knowledgeable, and after a 10 minute meet and greet inside the house, my 90 lb dog loves her. I was able to book the grooming in advance via text, they confirmed the day before, and then Alyson text me when she was on her way. Regarding cost and time, I don't have a basis for comparison, however this does feel like a premium price but for a premium service. My 90 lb rescue is a St Bernard mix that gets easily matted, the grooming cost $140 (I tipped an additional $30, total $170), and it took about 2.5 hours. As I don't have know how much grooming would be at a brick-and-mortar or another mobile groomer for the service he received, I am unsure if this is above or on par. This is a premium 1:1 service, convenient, and the time savings and care given is so well worth it! If you can dedicate hours to another task around the house or if you work from home, it feels like I was given the gift of time back to my day too. She does come inside to get to know your animal to become comfortable with them. So you need to be okay with that. This allows your animal to become familiar and comfortable with her too in their home first which I appreciate, it shows how passionate she is about animals. If you want to be updated during the grooming or if you'd prefer to get quoted if anything additional is needed, she is responsive to questions via text during the session. I have a 10lb toy poodle, Aiden this was his first haircut with Tanyas grooming. It was a traumatic experience. He had razor burns on his face, stomach, feet and buttocks. The haircut was uneven all over his body. It was so bad we went and got cream and a cone before they got infected. He is now miserable with the cone andi itching everywhere. Executive Summary: My two elderly dogs had their spa day with Tonya's groomer and they're acting 10 years younger. I am considering having them groom me if this is the result. I have a 14-year old Border Collie and a 13-year old Australian Shepherd. I haven't been able to bathe them regularly so I decided to try Tonya's service. Just used Tanya for the 1st time and she will be my furever groomer. I have 2 dogs, a boxer and shih tzu. My shih tzu is a senior dog. I should start by saying we don't actually live in Houston. We're here for medical treatment for my husband, and we brought our two dogs with us. And to be honest, we had another mobile grooming service coming over to groom the dogs, but they suddenly fell off the face of the earth without warning, and didn't return my calls. So I went back to the Google machine to find another. Frankly, I'm so much happier with Tanya than I was with the other place. How did I miss her when I was looking before? She gave a much better cut and paid attention when we said "no perfume", which was a nice change. She had a great rapport with the pups and you could tell she loves what she does. The dogs, which are about 70 lbs each by the way, took to her in a way they didn't with the other groomer, and she with them. She was friendly and professional and did a fantastic job!
