I have gone 4 days without hot water. I received an email that said the "Boiler" problem was resolved. It was not. The manager, gave me her usual FAKE SINCEE APOLOGY. She asked me to send her an email concerning getting compensated for these 4 days without Hot Water. The email would have been sent to KnightsVest Management Company and they are notorious for screwing over their tenants. I bet by tomorrow the Hot Water problem will not be fixed. I will be calling the City of Pasadena tomorrow to see if they can come down really hard on the Manager and the the apartments' managing parent company. Lived at the ashmore and had no really big problems while living here, however when i moved out, they charged me almost 50 dollars for "having dust on the fan". Also charged me for stuff I made sure to clean. Will charge for anything and everything here. Not worth it! read more

These reviews here on yelp have me freaked out now but I also realize some people are just miserable or if these things really happened, they weren't so recent. From the very first time I walked in, I worked with Angela and she's been amazing. Communication, patience and courtesy at its best. I have now been living here a few weeks and have had maintenance experiences and the like and based on horror stories I've read about online and heard about from other apartment buildings in Pasadena, the team at Ashmore overall seems to have their act together. Maintenance has so far resolved my issues and did so in timely manners. Upper management seems to not be as nice as their staff. And I've heard the same from neighbors here who have had issues with upper management also not being responsive. Also, the after hours numbers never have anyone who picks up. Hopefully I never need to escalate issues. Other than that, I really like my apartment in terms of location on the premises, I have the playground, 2 pools, laundromat and garbage disposal all steps away and I feel safe here. The apartment was overall well cared for. There's some sloppy painting and little things like the sinks being for hobbits but it really depends what unit you get. I honestly didn't, even realize we had laundromats on the premises. I'd have to say I'm overall very satisfied and appreciate the front office staff and maintenance people being nice to work with. read more

Lived here for a year and had many issues. I have evidence of ashmore not doing their job and neglecting us as tenants and charging us an outrageous move out fee for repairs that I ASKED for them to fix months before moving out. The restroom walls were fills with mold and dirt. They charged me for "damage", for my restroom ceiling! Babes, I am 5 feet. I can barely reach my cabinets. Trust, all they want is your money. The Ladies at the front desk seem nice at first, but once you move in they show their true colors. They were always rude and brushed off any issues we had. Stank attitude all day. Key fob never properly worked. Floor kept peeling up, my sink kept getting clogged. I'm glad we got out when we did but yea just wait till they hit you with fees after your lease ends. read more

One of the worst places I've lived in a while, they really don't care about you here. You are just a source of income for them. I always have issues here, weather is be no hot water, electrical issues, or simple maintenance. As long as I've lived here I was the one constantly requesting ac filters, they never switched it out them selves. Leaking ac unit, and I have water damage from it now. Knowing Ashmore they will probably find a way to blame it on you so they can collect. They have a 3rd party app to pay rent called flex and they don't even communicate with it, flex messed me over twice and now I have discrepancies on my renters history. read more

We had so many issues as soon as we moved in! Before we moved in, we were told that they would have it professionally cleaned. That didn't happen. Our apartment was dusty, dirty and full of cobwebs. So we had to clean in before we moved our belongings in. Not a good sign at all! The first load of laundry we did flooded two rooms in our apartment. Apparently there was an issue with our water line being blocked. Our apartment smelled like SEWAGE after this happened. Maintenance came to fix it so the smell was gone after a couple of hours. We had so many issues with our water line, that they actually cut a large hole in our wall and covered it with a small door so they would have easy access. Our apartment flooded at least 2-3 times. Speaking of sewage, there were so many issues with that. We had it all outside our front door. And this sewage back-up happened every few months because they NEVER fixed the issue. It would occur every few months. It was disgusting. I hate to be graphic but there was soggy toilet paper, human feces, urine and used feminine products outside our front door. And all of this sewage drained all the way down the sidewalk and into the parking lot. Basically, we had to walk through this filth to get to our cars. Or we would walk all the way around our building. That is unacceptable! No one should be forced to live in these conditions. We called several times about it but it was never actually fixed so it kept happening. It is a health hazard to be exposed to sewage like this (not to mention the horrible smell!). Besides, the sewage issue, we also found black mold in our apartment. We submitted a service request and maintenance came by to resolve this problem. And by "resolve" I mean they painted over the mold. So naturally it came back. When we finally moved out, there was black mold under our artwork. When my husband called the office to report it, they told him we "might be charged for that." Why should we be charged when it was their negligence? That is ridiculous! Below are additional issues we had while living there: - Very thin walls (you hear things you don't want to hear) - Parking spaces are very limited at night - The parking lot can flood if there's heavy rain and Burke Rd floods very easily. The leasing agent told me our complex does NOT flood. - My car window was shattered while parked at night and it cost $300 to repair - Limited gate cards - we only received ONE even though we had TWO adults and TWO separate vehicles. They expected us to pay $50 for an additional gate card. - The gates were not functioning properly quite often - We had to pay a $250 "conditional fee" to move in and it was non-refundable. I read other reviews here on Yelp that claimed they had to pay this fee as well even though they had good credit. - All the deposits we paid were non-refundable so we didn't get any money back after cleaning the entire unit After the serious issues we had (the sewage leaks and black mold), they had the audacity to charge us $164 on our final statement! I don't understand why they would charge us anything considering the deplorable conditions we were living in. They even charged us for an extra day since we turned our keys in a day late. That was because we had scheduled to do a walk-through with Management the next day. No one told us we would have to pay for an extra day when we discussed this with the office. I sent an email to Management requesting they call me back to discuss but no one ever did. I even sent a follow-up email but they never responded. Their lack of customer service is shameful. Since we don't live there anymore, they don't care to resolve this. All I can say for anyone wanting to live there is BEWARE! read more

If I could give this establishment a zero I would have! I called earlier to view a one bedroom one bathroom Apartment. The customer service representative who picked up the phone was very rude furthermore arriving to the facility her demeanor gave me that it's Monday, I don't want to be here and I need a new job. Then she holds my ID to show me images of the property online while I'm sitting face to face with her. I simply said no thank you i would like to view Model A5 in person. I was really excited about viewing the apartment but, her energy was disgusting and I walked out. The shorter lady with the curly hair pinned back seems very sweet!! She needs a raise! The one in the pink shirt with the Ross back and the dollar store eyeliner with the half wing definitely needs a new profession. Update after finally escaping this place: I have had issue after issue with this place, and the office has done absolutely nothing to resolve any of them. Upon move out, I was told I didn't pay a security deposit. I know I did, and have all the paperwork to prove so, but they insisted I didn't give one. I'm guessing this means I'm not getting my deposit back? I was also told my problems could be escalated to upper management, if I emailed this person on a card. Later after reviewing the card, it belongs to the person I was already speaking to, so whatever email I send will go right back to her. Also have had several issues with my key fob to open the gate, went to the office, they tell me it needs a new battery. Okay, I change the battery, and what do you know? Still having issues. I would understand the living conditions and poor customer service if I was paying like $700 for rent, but to charge over $1,300 a month and label yourselves as "luxury apartments" how is this acceptable? read more

I can't handle living at these apartments anymore, I feel like it's going to drive me to either have a mental breakdown or commit suicide. These apartments are so insanely horrible. There's a fire every single year without fail - just tonight, there was a fire in my building, below me. Thankfully it was put out before it had the opportunity to further spread but you can't imagine how terrified I was, because just last year, an ENTIRE UNIT burned down right across from me and I witnessed it all with my own eyes. The office doesn't inform anyone about these fires either and plays it off as if it's normal or not a big deal. It's not normal to have your apartments catch on fire every year, or multiple times a year. That's terrifying. There's also constant home invasions, cars being broken into, and in December 2021, near the back of the apartments, I got held at gunpoint and nearly raped. I managed to get away from the guy and called the police, who of course did nothing and treated me as if I was crazy because I had no proof (how could I have proved this happened?!). I don't know if the guy who did that to me lives in the apartments or what but now I'm scared to even go on my patio at night because I'm afraid someone will see me and try to kill me. When I told the office they laughed in my face and said it wasn't their problem. The office is horrible in general and everyone acts as if they'd rather be anywhere else. I can't stand living here, but I feel trapped because everywhere else is so expensive. We just renewed our lease for another year and I'm terrified as to what's going to happen next. I don't feel safe here, and yet I should because this is my home. But I don't. I feel really scared, all of the time. Please save yourself and don't move here. The front office says one thing and does the opposite. They gave me a bad remote key fob when I moved in and the second one also stopped working in less than a month. My roommate picked up the second one for me due to my working schedule. Today was my 1st off day in a couple of days and I had time to go up to the office to ask them to replace my key fob because it isn't working. I was told the battery needed to be replaced and I had to replace myself. However if the remote fob broke in the process it's on me. The 1st lady said she was going to give it to the other leasing lady because she didn't know how to do it and told me to wait for the other leasing lady she would replace the battery. The other lady said that maintenance was going to replace it to leave it. Mind you the last 3 days I worked night shift and I had to wait for a car to drive up so I can get in the gate. The gate code that they gave us also doesn't work. I wouldn't have minded waiting until she was available to replace the batteries but she argued said that's maintenance job and I had to leave the remote fob and maybe they will have time to replace them today. Clearly I'm upset at this point the 1st lady just told me that the other leasing lady could replace them. I guess she just didn't want to, I'm sure it doesn't take 30 min to replace a battery and I've never seen anyone replace them so I wasn't going to risk it and break it then have to pay for replacement. read more

DO NOT SIGN WITH ASHMORE APARTMENTS. They have roach infested buildings and they are not addressing the issue! The unit was definitely infested with roaches prior to me moving in and they allowed me to move into it anyways. I moved my stuff on January 11, 2020. By 2 AM on January 12, roaches were crawling out of the sink, the tub and even the walls! After alerting the property manager she told me that she would need to do a walk-through of my unit at 3 PM that day and she would call me back. I made it clear to her that I severe allergies and this needs to be resolved ASAP. She never did. I had to contact them the following day. After calling the office again, I was informed I needed to sign a form. They told me that maintenance looked at my unit and they did not see a problem and that roaches come out at night. They then told me that the soonest pest control can come was Friday. This is because they cannot just fumigate my unit, they have to do the building and notify the other tenants. After asking if there was anything they could do in the mean time because I had health concerns, the property manager told me that she would box up the things I unpacked, move my furniture, lay out borax and contact pest control to see if I can return to my unit after borax was laid. She said she would call me back. She never did. Two days later I called again because I did not feel it is fair that I would need to pay a weeks worth of rent if I can't even occupy the space. I was told I would be the first person the property manager would call back. Again, she never called. I asked another pet owning tenant if he was notified that pest control was planning to exterminate the whole building, he said no. Friday I emailed their corporate office no longer wanting to rent with Ashmore. Management had no regards for my health or concerns. That afternoon they "fumigated" my apartment. With empty boxes still laying out. My cabinets closed. No furniture moved. There was a notice that the bugs would still appear two weeks later. Two days later I spoke with that same tenant, he told me that he saw a roach the other day in his dog's food. They never fumigated the building as promised. I ended up getting sick and had a asthma flare up. No choice I needed to get out of the apartment, it was not livable. Management asked if I would like to transfer to another unit. There is no promise that another unit would be roach free since it seems the issue is within the walls. The bottom line is that they did not care about me and my health. They accused me that I could have brought the roaches into the unit when I lived at their sister property just before and there were no issues. They cared about taking my money. They are requiring me to pay 2 more months of rent and a termination fee for an apartment I stayed for one night and the hours it took to remove all of my stuff. read more

Great location. The manager Monica and her team are very attentive and quick to fix any of your concerns as soon as they can. The maintenance crew is great also, they have to keep up with a large property but they handle it. The laundry rooms, pools, dog parks and gym are kept up with which is great considering the property size. I really enjoy that the evenings are mellow instead of having too much noise going on outside that you can't sleep. I would recommend these apartments to anyone. read more

Moved in feb 20th sometime and the apartment had a major leak not only did it have a leak the leak was in the ac vent and created mold not only the mold but the foundation around the leak had a massive crack that went from the living room to the hallways. i reached out over 8 times over a month to reach the manager Monica over the make ready guy walking into the apartment without calling me or leaving a note who happened to walk in on my sister showering, she proceeded to talk about a dog my sister has which is an emotional support dog she takes everywhere with her mind you the dog did not live with me but she tried to shift blame on me because i requested she release my contract so that i may get out of that unsafe environment she called an apartment. read more

I'm not Some one who likes to write reviews On places but after living here for a year and it being my first apartment I'm so deeply disappointed I was promised a lot by the leasing lady and I was let down so much So to add context to my review I work as a building engineer so I handle the supervision of maintenance work and etc having to do with residential and commercial maintenance 1st issue when I first moved in my AC would not turn off and it was in the beginning of summer I contact the leasing office thinking that it would be fixed or at least looked at within the week which I under from experience there is a lot of stuff to do but no one came to fix my AC it's not until after I call everyday of the following week to let them know what is going on when they finally came they said nothing was wrong but i knew they where lieying because I saw they only detached the thermostat and reset it so that fixed the problem for a week and it went back to not turning off so I call them again with them responding that the maintenance had already fixed it so I asked is it possible for me to take a look and they said it was okay too so I open my AC unit and realize it's the relays that have gone bad so I call the office and ask the maintenance man to come back and fix it because it's not working so they said everyone left and no one can help me so the next day I go to the office and talk to Monica and from the very beginning it seemed she wasn't taking my issue seriously and when I mentioned I found the problem of the relays she questioned it asking how long have been a building engineer and if I have the right qualifications and being very very VERY condescending and rude and clearly did not like that i was telling her I knew how this all worked that I can just talk to upper management instead of talking to her and she refused to give me their number until she talked to Nancy her friend in upper managements she gave me a google phone number and a non responsive email address and from what I investigated she used to work at Greystar Management a company we have a contract with so I was able to found out about her very quickly and her past accusations of being a very bad and lazy employee so I saw how deep this issue was so after I called about 28 times she finally told me she'll be launching an investigation into the the matter that till this day I have never heard anything back from but luckily Ignacio listened to me and saw the relays where bad and replaced them and my AC from that point has been working Ok but I saw how poorly management was willing to take responsibility not saying it's there fault it wasn't working properly but for not responding to the situation in a professional matter 2nd issue ROACHES yes it's very disgusting I am a clean person I clean my apartment every other day and when I lived with my parents I had no roaches but when I moved to Ashmore Apartments it was infested. The first two months was fine no roaches maybe one here and there but that was it I killed them on the spot but now I see roaches every day and every where and again I called Monica to tell her how Bad it was and it was really not okay or Normal and her words where "it's normal to see roaches in apartments we call the pest control but it's normal" so I replied with asking if they spray the whole building every month as I understand that's how it's supposed to be but she said "no we don't do that here we only spray the building if we get multiple calls from residents of the same building" so from then on I have called pest control every week do the my lease and when I say every week I literally mean every week since that conversation and with no good result and the pest control person walks in for 10 seconds literally 10 seconds I have a ring camera and only leaves a note saying he was there and only sprays the outside so he clearly is not doing his job correctly I see roaches every day and I maintain my apartment clean and throw out the trash regularly and I have brought this up to the front office and even Monica and I emailed her my ring videos of him waking in for 10 seconds and walking out and I never got a response and it seems there was no consequences to the worker as he continues to walk in for 10 seconds and leaves and sprays the outside I have decided to speak up on these issues as my lease is ending soon I truly wanted to love this place as it was my first apartment but I was so disappointed and let down by everyone from the ready prep people to the office to the maintenance I will never be coming back to this place nor I will be referring anyone no matter is I get 1,000 off my rent this place was disgusting along with the employees greatly disappointed read more

I've been living at this property 5months now. I love my apartment.. it's an updated apartment and I'm very comfortable living here. Not much of a social able person but my neighbors are pretty nice. Not a great place to live when its under construction. I have a baby, she has not been able to take her naps for weeks because it is so laud outside, shes been so cranky! They are currently changing wood in my front door a and I just can't take it anymore. Hard to even give this place a star. What seems to be affordable living is really a gimmick to hide what ugliness is inside these walls. First let's start with the lovely apartment leasing agents who don't give a damn and will sweep everything you possibly have an issue with under their rug, unless of course they need to bill you for things that don't wind up being done in the first place. For example, THE ROACHES, this has been an issue for my partner and I for some time and we pay a fee each month that is attached to the rent cost - which might I add 1300 for our tiny 1 bedroom apartment is a bit much - anyhow we pay this fee and guess what, STILL THERE ARE ROACHES. IN THE WALLS - IN THE KITCHEN - BATHROOM. Shall I go on? The water system here is a wreck our drains are always leaking and because this shithole spends money on poor home appliances we not have a broken faucet in the shower. Which brings me back to the leasing agents whom I've made complaints before and when on the phone about the issue I was met with attitude and a very uncaring demeanor. These apartments suck. Don't live here. No one picks up their dogs poop, the gates didn't work for several months. I've woken up to vehicles being broken into, tires stolen. Fitness center will be locked with the lights and fan on?! Then I call and they say it's because they have the key fob now which of course doesn't work. Every time something doesn't work we have to call and figure out why. Can't even work out when I want to. Can't wait till our lease is up. To make it even worse they finally started getting the gates to work but the key Fob only works for one gate for us and that gate is now broken so we have to punch in the number at the front leasing office to get in and go all the way around because that's the only way in the complex. If they weren't depending on one gate working this wouldn't be an issue. They have an excuse for everything. Not worth what you pay for. read more

actually some of the worst apartments i've ever lived in. says newly renovated but that's a lie, they just threw some paint of some old kitchen cabinets and that's about it, so old to the point they fell in the middle of the night and when maintenance came to fix it, it was the most half ass'd job i'd ever seen. they constantly turn off the water/ hot water with no more then a text warning 2 hours after they've done it, there's no parking even when they give their residence a sticker. a/c unit so old mine went out 4 different times during the summer. the only positive thing i can say is throughout everything in the apartment constantly breaking is maintenance is quick(even when they half ass their job) 10/10 would never recommend even to my worst enemy read more

We've lived here over a month now and still no gate keys... keep in mind we live on the far side where it's gated is key pass only.. no code. So we have to drive 5 mins through the whole complex to get home. The parking is atrocious. No spaces and have to park two buildings down. Hot water barely works, it's either scolding or freezing. No in between. (Allocated water heaters). No appreciation for privacy, will just let themselves in without consent. Office staff is rude and unhelpful. They do not know if what they're talking about or doing. They can not answer any questions you may have and when they do answer it's normally (I'm not sure).... seriously? It's not worth it. I wish I could rate this place in the negative. This place's name should be changed to ASS-MORE, coz its apt. I finalized on to this place, went to the office and was shown the model, liked it, and filled out the application. Paid $250 dollars as application fee/administrative fee. They approved me, but with condition, that I have to pay another $250, coz their system showed that I have 'too many open accounts' and 'I am a defaulter with late payments'. Never ever in my life, I have NOT paid my dues. Having too many open accounts in none of your business, if everything is paid off. Karen (the community manager), if you are reading this, you are downright rude and mean. I cannot imagine that a person with 'FIVE YEARS' of damn experience could not learn to be polite and courteous. May be your regional manager (Jennifer Doggett) did not teach you that. My case was completely a different one, and the way the staff handled it at ASSMORE made matters worse and stressful for me. I know I am not going to get my hard-earned money back, but I got a lesson. I will never recommend this place to any one of you guys. 9 out of 10 times, your call will not be answered. Try it ! My friend and I tried calling them the whole day yesterday and my call was not answered, NOT EVEN ONCE. People here have had good experience too, but not me ! Spending millions on renovation and beautification does not make this place worth living. Dayana and Pearl were the ones who assisted me, and they were good. But, Karen, you need to learn some manners and etiquette. Please, please do not rent here. Its your hard earned money. Be at a place where you and your loved ones will be respected. I absolutely love my apartment! My family and I just moved in a few weeks ago and it has been such a smooth experience. The management and office staff are very kind and helpful. I can tell they actually care about their residents and want them to be happy. The amenities are clean and up to date. The maintenance staff is even extremely friendly and helpful. just got off the phone with the manager and never have I felt so direspected.. we renewed our lease in June they charged us more but we said hey we like it here so decided to pay.. now fast forward to hurricane harvey and we get water in our apartment.. well after getting yelled at by the manager telling me it's my responsibility to find all the damage I called corporate and they told me hmm that doesn't seem right.. the manager told me I was responsible for finding the damage and letting them know.. well i did that and even offered to show them pictures but they said that wasn't necessary.. management also said just because the wall has damage doesn't mean or has mold but I told her I took pictures and saw the mold and that is when she went off. now I'm not going to say I was an angel but the only reason i raised my voice was because she wasn't letting me speak.. I'm pretty sure nothing will be done about this but I thought I should let people know how it is before they decide to move in here.. read more
