The park is looking good. Was empty, likely due to school being back in session and we were there…read moremid day on a Friday. It is not a dog friendly park, so leave the dog at home. The building was shuttered up. It's been many years since I have been there so I do not know if it is due to season, pandemic, or just permanently closed.

One out and another two Soo Lock tour boats headed out the other end. Cool to watch the lock gates open and close and watch the water line rise against the concrete wall.

There is a schedule in the visitors center that shows what came through, as well as what's coming up...ex: ship____at 2pm. It's definitely worth a stop and look.

Great park to sit and watch the ships go by, enjoy the birds (ducks pretty much all the time -…read moreothers are more seasonal), not far enough to escape the sounds of the city unless you have noise cancellng headphones. Lots of benches to just sit and chill. Places to fish along the bank, as well as a little fishing pier. During the winter months the snow is not cleaned up on the road or benches; you are on your own. People still crive into the park so it is accessible by vehicle or you can walk in (it's not that big). Bring something to sit on if the benches might be wet or snow covered. Parking in the park is available, or you can park in the lot just outside the park and walking. Dogs are welcome, but should be leashed if there are oter folks in the park. During the really cold months, and bad weather your pup can run free as the park tends to be relatively empty. Poop bags for your do are available at the entrance / exit. Please cleanup after your dog. Don't miss Rotary Park if you're in the Soo.

We went on a Saturday and there were a few farmers selling their produce. Very nice quite place to walk around and enjoy the scenic views.

There will always be neighbors as this is a very popular place. Some sites are a bit low and after rain was not good. Water and electricity with limited sites for 50amp and only a few pull through main reason for the 4 star vs 5. Clyde's driving burger place within walking and really super burgers. Easy access from town with lots of friendly campers. This will b on our return to list.
