Very untrustworthy mechanic shop. My mom brought her Toyota venza for a simple BREAK CHANGE which took 6 hours to complete for some reason. The car drove in normally no issues while reversing or driving at all. They brought the car out to her at pick up so she could drive off without the NEED to reverse. Upon reaching home she parked it her parking spot. The next day as she's reversing to leave her parking spot the car starts SHAKING VIOLENTLY. This had never ever happened before. She drove it back there immediately and they told her they didn't "have time" to look at it. I brought it back up there the next day because when I got in the car to understand what she was describing, I realized it wasn't anything subtle! I've driven her car many times this has never EVER happened. They took the car at my insisting and called me back 4 hours later claiming it was because my mom drove over something on the road. My mother is 71 years old and drives like ms daisy. She didn't go anywhere but home which is only 5 minutes away from this car shop. Did not run over ANYTHING. They charged her $675 to change her breaks, oil and air filter which in itself was outrageous. But the worst of it is tht they incompetently did something tht now has her car shaking (when put in reverse). What could someone run over tht could make their car shake violently ONLY when placed in reverse ? This has never happened before bringing it into this shop. When I came to the shop, her car hood was up for some reason. Then he lifted the car and tried explaining it in a way tht makes no sense showing me an OLD scratch underneath her car claiming it was the cause. I told them this scratch is old and has been there for YEARS, it is rusted and clearly nothing that was done recently. He disregarded all my points and suggestions to ensure the breaks were applied properly as if he knows I have no real choice but to accept whatever he said. As I'm walking away they start mumbling in Vietnamese and it's such a shame tht my mom brought her car here for her breaks to be changed. I would have preferred she took it to a chain mechanic shop tht are not depending on taking advantage of their customers just to make ends meet. It's really difficult finding trustworthy mechanics. If u are a lady, especially and older lady please think twice before bringing ur business here. You will regret it. read more

Well, bad luck and good luck with cars both follow me around. I went to the dealership for an oil change, and they of course slapped me with "repairs that they deem necessary" that totaled over a grand. Um. No. So in my skepticism, I googled "who else fixes Japanese cars?" and this place was the last in the list. (Well, I'd like to think my Google searches are a little more sophisticated than that, but you get the point). I called every place that Google lists, and Asia Auto Care was the one that had a person answer the phone. It was a Saturday. I had mixed feelings when I couldn't understand anything the guy said when he first greeted me. First, well, this guy is obviously Vietnamese, and I'm not. But, I'm Asian, so, as a friend joked, maybe he'd be more sympathetic toward me anyways. He was really nice once I started understanding him, and he said he'd take a look at my car for free to diagnose the problem. He asked if the location was okay with me, and gave me detailed directions on how to get there. It did take a long time to drive out there from downtown. It was in my old neighborhood, close to W. Bellfort and W. Airport. (Now you know why I dance the way I do. "Club Riddims was in your hood?" why, yes). I walked in, and there was a row of 5 Asian guys standing behind the counter. Total silence. At first I was terrified, and then I saw that one of them was actually Mexican. Whew, I'm saved. They all started joking around with me, and having a good old time. They asked (in Vietnamese) if I could speak Vietnamese, and I shook my head vehemently. But I said I could speak a mix of Mandarin and Spanish, if it helps. I snuck a look at the Mexican. He didn't look affected. Oh well. The Vietnamese guys laughed and said "She's a smart girl." Yikes. If only they knew the truth. They took a quick look at my car, and one of them sat down next to me and said very seriously, (Imagine the Anjelah Johnson nail salon impression here)"Do you know what wrong wit your car?" I gave him a worried look. "No, what?" He still looked serious. "ABSOLUTELY NOT-ING! When it actually broke, you can come back and we fix it for you- cheap cheap." He made an assertion that he did not like to make dishonest money, and there was nothing that needed to be fixed. He sent me on my way and didn't charge me a dime for his time. read more

I am very skeptical when I see 5 stars, but I have to give it to this place! And here's why: First on my wife's Honda Odyssey, she got a VSA warning alert, we called the dealer and they said it was a problem with the fuel intake valve and would cost a little over $1,000. Once you reach the 1K price point you need a 2nd opionion in my book. So we searched Google and Yelp for an auto care shop. We read the reviews on Asia Auto and decided to give them a shot. Sure enough, all the reviews about how honest they were are true. Mr.Can (who is hilarious by the way) had his guys look things over,and turns out all we needed was an oil change. Our cost went from $1K to $36. So that would be win number 1! Number 2: I received an "Overheat" warning in my Buick Enclave. I pulled over, turned off the engine. When I got back on the road the warning came on again. So as not to destroy a $50K, car I drove it to a car repair shop on Washington Ave, which was only a few miles from where I was. This car shop (which shall remain nameless) quoted me $3,000 worth of repairs. Yes! I said 3 GRAND!! Sticking to my 1k threshold rule, I had it towed to Asia Auto. Once again, Mr Can came through!!!! Turns out the problem wasn't as bad as originally quoted by the other guys. Final repair cost- $900( this is a rounded figure). So I went from a $3,000 bill to only $900. That's a $2,100 savings! Ahhh Yeah! Mr. Can you are da MAN!!!! I don't care if your car is American or import,if you need a repair take it to these guys! We all know how hard it is to find honest, reputable mechanics, and Mr. Can and crew are the most honest and knowledgable car mechanics I have done business with!! read more

I've taken my car to Mr.Can since I got it spent over 800-1000 dollars there & everytime has been overly impressed me. His personality is very funny and spunky. So I guess your wondering why I'm giving him 1 star.. I took my car to Mr. Can not sure what was wrong with it.. He had my car for over a week not giving me any update on what was happening. I had to call Mr. can and he was saying that he had to wait for the part. I put into consideration that it was the holiday season and it might take longer. The part that kills me is that he didnt even know if it was going to work. Long story short my car never got fixed and he still said that he didn't know what was wrong with my car & he was unable to fix it. He was utterly disrespectful and said that I didn't appreciate him. I had accidentally broken the sunroof on my Ford Fusion. It was stuck open on the back part (raised up) so any time it rained, I had to put a towel in the opening as to not have the interior of the car get wet. It was an inconvenience and unsightly. I took it to the Ford dealership and they were going to charge me $118 JUST to look at it and assess the problem. I had no choice so I told them to go ahead and waited about 2 hours. They finally told me they'd have to replace the whole sun roof and it would cost $1400. I didn't that and luckily, the guy didn't charge me the $118 fee. I left the sun roof alone for a few months but in my attempt to fix it to prepare to drive in a really bad rain storm, I made things even worse. The sunroof was unhinged on 3 of the 4 corners and someone could've easily lifted it right off of my car. Furthermore, upon driving home, I discovered that the wind was catching the sunroof and almost ripping it off my car. I knew I had to get it fixed. I found out about Asia Auto Care here on Yelp and was sold. I visited them right when they opened and Mr. Can and his team were exceptionally friendly, speedy and efficient. Mr. Can charged me $0 to look the sun roof and evaluate the problem. Since he couldn't replace the whole sun roof or really repair it back to working condition, his team removed the broken pieces that were on the tracks, sealed the sunroof by drilling it down into the car and disconnecting the power from the sun roof button so that if anyone were to press it, the sun roof would not move. ALL of this was done for $90. And it took maybe 90 minutes, if that. (Before they fixed it, Mr. Can told me he was going to call some body shops he knew of to get a quote on how much it would be to get the whole sun roof repaired and said he'd get back to me within 3 to 4 days but he ended up creating a solution of his own.) I would go back in a heartbeat if I had any car problems and I highly recommend this place for any car troubles, under the hood or superficial. read more

Everyone in TX knows the value of AC in the ride... so when mine went out I knew it was a costly bullet to bite and had to be rectified immediately. I went to a few places and the hemmed and hawed about the cost... from 200+ at the dealer to 150 at jiffy lube... then i met E at this spot off Hillcroft.... E: Man... you ain't got AC? Brutal! your Honda is nice... I know some cats off W. Airport who do ALL Asian cars... you should get 'em to look at it. D: I'm on it... It's 90 degrees out.... and what am i gonna do when the humidity sets in? Cut out a sunroof for ventilation? E: They can prolly do that for you too..... So I was off and got in before 4. They gave me a good quote, Did it there and was done in less than an hour.... and for less than 100 bucks? Who can beat that? one other thing i like there... it seemed busy but they had some VERY loyal customers.... everyone who came in seemed familiar with the people who worked there.... that was very comforting... with prices and service like this...I think i will be saving on a few trips to the dealership.... This auto repair shop is inside the city of Houston which gives the Houston Police Department jurisdiction. I am a process server and I have papers to serve on a vehicle that was repaired by this shop. The owner of the vehicle explained that the repairs were done in excess of what he agreed to pay for and then told me that this shop charged him storage fees per day. This auto shop does NOT have a Texas vehicle storage lot license and cannot by law for any reason charge storage. If you have had your car repaired here and were charged storage please contact the Houston Auto Theft division and ask for Auto Dealers who deals with illegal activities of auto repair garages. Also please contact the BBB, The Texas Comptroller's office and also the Texas Attorney General's office to make an official complaint. read more

Came in on a Saturday. Very affordable pricing for my AC that got fixed on an Acura integra. They also explained to me that I had other leaks in my car without pressuring me to get it fixed. I would definitely recommend to bring your car here. However, if you are in a hurry I wouldn't recommend to bring it on the weekends since it tends to be busy. read more

Mr Chan is a nice guy, easy to deal with. His crew took good care of my Tacoma! They have even given me a ride back to work when the weather was bad. I will defiantly come back for regular maintenance! One morning, I get into my truck to go to work and when I put my foot on the break to start the truck, my foot went to the floor. I lost all fluid. I look under the truck and see a puddle and what appeared to be a cut hydraulic line. My paranoid self wondered if I made an enemy. I towed it to Mr. Chan and told him about my concerns. I have a 2006 Xterra, and the A/C went out. That's not good if you live in Houston, so I went to a very respectable independent car repair place that I had used many times before on Kirkwood Drive to get it repaired. The car was diagnosed and the quote was $1300 for the repair. I panicked because I did not have the money ready for the repair and it's just next to impossible to drive in Houston in the summer without a/c. So I google for a place that I can take my car in for a second opinion, and somehow my search turned up Asia Auto Care on Gessner Drive. I read all of the five reviews about the business, and I thought that I would drive there to check it out. When I get to the business, I was greeted by Mr Liem, the Service Manager. I explained the problem to him and he said that he would check it out free of charge. That makes me feel good. While waiting for my car to be checked out, I saw several customers came in for their cars or just dropping off their cars. And the thing is they all seem to be happy with the service rendered by this place. They also joked around with the Service manager named Mr Can. So I thought to myself, maybe I have found a good place to service my car. A while later, Mr Liem came in and told me that the compressor of my A/C leaked and the cost to repair it is about $300, and they can do it right away if I wanted too. I said yes. Since it would take about 4 hours for the repair he even offered to give me a ride home if my wife could not pick me up. Long story short, the car was repaired and it was pleasant to ride it again with the A/C working. And it did not cost me a significant amount of money as it was quoted to me earlier from a different place. I am very happy about the place and I would like to share my experience with others. Because of their reviews about Asia Auto Care that led me to this place, so I thought that I would do my part in letting others know about it too. If you have car trouble, take it to this place and find out for yourself, but I bet you would like it like I do. I had the unfortunate experience of bringing my 1995 Jaguar XJ12 to this horrific place because my father, friends and relatives have serviced their vehicles there for years with little to no incidents. As most are unaware, this vehicle is a limited edition with only 1000 made and I entrusted it to Mr. Can and his team. During the course of the 2 years that my vehicle was there, the vehicle was "broken into," the steering column damaged, and the owner/manager did not report the break in to the authorities or myself for that matter. Mind you, I called at least twice a month to check on the status of the repair, which was minimal and was told that I should just get rid of the vehicle. After paying $1,600.00 I received a my vehicle and Mr. Can informed me that the vehicle had been damaged due to theft and a "break in." He also attempted to charge for a new tire and headlamps to which I denied and called my father to explain the occurrence. Needless to say, that was from 9-14-16 to 2018. Recently, my father took his Mercedes for a simple sensor change that would have taken a couple of hours and was quoted a price of $100.00. When he called, 30minutes before closing, he was told a higher price. Before anyone jumps to conclusions, both my father and I have backgrounds in the automotive industry. I worked as a salesman for Ford for several years and my father has built small and big block motors. Needless to say, when I dropped him off to retrieve his vehicle, I did not go in, but he shared with me that he told Mr. Can that was the last time he would go to Asia auto care. This was just 2 weeks ago, 2019. With that being said, I hope that our story is beneficial to the reader and that you do not have to experience this TERRIBLE behavior and treatment from this place and learn from our experiences. Great service... great job. I will be going back. I went in on a Saturday with lights on all over my dashboard including "check engine" light. ( I have an old car that I plan on keeping for a while longer). I can never get out of the dealership for under 2k... so I needed to find some other place that's good with older Hondas. I got major work done at Asia Auto Care for $700 and I went in on a Saturday with no appointment. Whew! I was sooo happy, and I will be going back. I usually get pretty good service here, they don't do exactly everything there so that sucks, they did recommend me on going to Sammy Muffler shop once to get some muffler system, I don't know much about cars but they put out a good word and I liked it there. I have been a customer of Asia Auto care for over 20 years. A co-worker recommended them for their honest and quality service. Well 20 years later they have saved me thousands of dollars. Just for example, I had a check engine warning light om my Toyota 4 Runner. The dealer quoted me about $4000 repair cost. Christian Brothers estimate was about $3000. I was told that the car would not pass inspection unless the repairs were made. Asia Auto care fixed the problem by correctly diagnosing the bad sensor for less than $300. Needless to say, the car passed inspection with flying colors. I can go on & on, but you get the point. Their immense success through the years has not diminished the quality of their service. I had a minor front bumper accident on my 2011 Honda CRV that bent the steel rebar behind it, cracked the inside of my left headlamp, bent my radiator and messed up my grill. I went to another relatively low cost shop and they charged a minimum of 970 and they didn't even take off the bumper to really check it correctly. These guys here took off the bumper quickly, showed me what was wrong and even other damage I wasn't aware of. They told me to repair the entire thing would be 6 to 700, but after telling them my budget, they recommended the most important changes which came to 210 and they even reused my bumper! I definitely will be coming here for all my future fixes! Oh and they did this between 1 to 2 hours. read more

Found this place on internet, and the garage had great reviews. went there at 2pm on Saturday(10/21/12) for a diagnostic...needed a new AC compressor ! Mr Can was willing to repair it immediately, and offerred us a ride home. I can only say, what a great experience this was, Very friendly folks, Mr Can and Bro Liem sure know this business. We got all the parts, cheaper than wholesame( I checked), labor was reasonable, got it done in 3 hours, with no appointment! My 2003 Highlander cools better than when it was new. The mechanics left no "messes" inside or out, and gave me an itemized report of the repair. I am most pleased with this shop and will recommend it to all my friends who own Asian cars. I had my car towed to a shop because it wouldn't start. I was told that i needed a starter. Purchased the starter and it still would not start. The mechanic told me that maybe its the battery. I began to think something is not right. I have enough sense to check all thse things before telling a customer anything. What got me was the word MAYBE. You are the mechanic and I'm the customer looking for you to tell me whats going on with my car. Long story short I went on line and found Asia Auto Care. Told them my situation and they gave me the go to havey car towed there. Before leaving the other mechanic told me that it will cost a couple of grands to fix my car. I didnt listen but I was a little worried. It was almost closing time when I made it to Asia auto care. They took my keys and told me that they would give me a call the next day with the diagnosis and price. I ended up paying 10% of what I was told it would cost me plus i was able to get something else taken care of that I already knew would be a problem in the future. Asia auto will be my new mechanic.
